Appliances

I bought 4 appliances from Sears and had problems with the fridge and stove. They required two different service technicians to come and they did not come in the time range they specified, sometimes early and sometimes late. It took about five different tries before they finally came.

Then there was another problem (which I couldn't have found before) just a few days after the warranty period had expired and they would take not responsibility for it.

dining table and stools

This has been the worst service experience ever! Purchased a table set on line during a sale, asked for deferred payment. Ordered arrived twice at store COD. Third time, I purchased the item on my Sears card to find out the table and chairs are now discontinued. No issues I thought until two of the stools were missing legs. Spent the next week calling Sears customer service with no one calling me back. I finally lost it on a supervisor to find out that they will provide the missing legs for my stools, however, I have to wait 3 MONTHS! I am livid, this product is discontinued and Sears won't admit it or provide another alternative. I will never shop here again and I am cutting up my card. This is complete disgusting and enough already Sears with the fake apology! No one believes you are sorry about our frustration. I will not recommend this store EVER!

repair on samsung fridge

I made a service request to have my samsung fridge compressor replaced under my extended warranty protection. The technician came but cancel the service because i would not allow him to work in my house with his dirty shoes. So angry at such unprofessionalism. why don't they have little booty to wear over their work boots especially when customers home are very clean have a strict no shoes policy. UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE AT ITS BEST….Next person try that won't get off the hook that easy…SEARS PLEASE LETS YOUR TECHNICIAN KNOW THAT SOME OF US WILL NOT ALLOW BOOTS IN OUR HOMES.. WE DONT KNOW WHERE YOU HAVE BEEN AND WHAT YOUR WILL BE TRANSFERRING INTO OUR HOMES.

Dishwasher installation

June 30, 2015: Purchased LG dishwasher at Sears Home, Calgary. Paid for delivery and installation. Delivery was scheduled for July 8. Told that installation would be same day.

July 8: Dishwasher delivered as promised. In late afternoon, called Sears Installation services. Got voice mail saying to leave a message and our call would be returned shortly. Didn’t get a call back.

July 9: Called Sears Installation again. Left a message. No call back.

July 10: Called Sears Installation again. Left a message. No call back. Called the salesperson at Sears Home Calgary. He said he would look into the problem and call us back. No call back.

July 11: Called the Sears general inquiry line. Talked to a person who said she would leave a message at Sears Home Calgary. Called our salesperson again. He said that there was a new system for booking installations and that he would fax our information to the installation centre right away. Gave us a new number for Sears Installation.

July 13: Called Sears Installation at the new number provided. They said they had no record of our installation order. We told them that the salesperson faxed the information on July 11. They still said they had no record and we had to call the store. Called Sears Home Calgary again. Talked to a different salesperson who found our order and said that they would fax our installation order to Sears Installation again. No call from Sears Installation.

Samsung Refrigerator

After reading the comments on this website I can only concur
That Sears and bad service are synonymous .
A 3 or more month run around to fix a leaky water tap on fridge
Front is craziness . Made purchase at small town Sears ,
Have asked them for a pro rated reimbursement of monies
Paid for service contracts on 3 appliances .
We have been a Sears customer for 30 or more years
No more ...they can move the whole bussiness to the
Phillipines....

Mastercraft lawn tractor

We purchased a Mastercraft lawn tractor from Sears Canada in May 2014. It worked for a whole 22 hours (basically the first season as we have a 3+ acre yard), we've been trying to get warranty work organized with them for 4 weeks with no progress. I will NEVER purchase anything from Sears Canada again. Very sad that such a good company has turned into such a joke that doesn't care about customer satisfaction. They got my $4000 now they don't give a damn. Stuck with a piece of crap and long grass. Dissatisfied doesn't even begin to cover it!

I'm writing this as a very angry, dissatisfied customer. I'm going to be boycotting your store and recommending to all my family, friends, contacts and all media forums I'm on. I ordered an outdoor play center for my children. I ordered it on May 5, 2015. Expected date of delivery was May 25, 2015. My daughter's birthday was on June 1st. I was hoping it would be here so that I could have it set up for use on her birthday. It is June 6, 2015, it still hasn't arrived. I received an automated call that my order was delivered and ready for pick up on May 21st. I called the store the next day to verify that it was all there because I live 120 km found trip from the nearest pick up location. The said it was there. Upon arriving, we discovered only two of the three boxes of the item had been delivered. I phoned the toll free number given online. I was directed on the phone to customer service eventually. They said they would look into it and someone would get back to me within 48 hours. No one ever called. I tried again on Tuesday, May 26th, when I hadn't heard and it was the day after the expected delivery date. I got no answers on where my item is. They suggested I wait a couple more days and hopefully it would be in then. I did. Still nothing so I phoned again. They said they would look into it and call me back. Still no return call. I tried calling again on the weekend as my daughter's birthday was on Monday. They said customer service was closed when I called and they would get someone to call me back. No one did. At this point I'm very angry. I tried calling again on Tuesday. They couldn't give me any answers where my item is. They said someone would call me. I told them how angry and frustrated I am. They said there was nothing they could do from their end but look into it. I called the local store. The worker called trying to locate it. All I know is it is in transit somewhere but I have no idea because no one is telling me. I also received my Sears bill and I've been charged for the item I haven't received yet and also the insurance premium on my card for the item. Seriously Sears, this is a complete failure! I'm a single mother raising three little children on a very limited, low income. I decided to do something special for once for my children as I never put money towards such frivolous things. My kids have been waiting for a surprise that never came and you broke their hearts. I feel so failed!

Sears Canada

PLEASE - DO NOT ORDER FURNITURE FROM Sears Canada !!!! In April I ordered a media dresser from the Sears store on Glenmore in Calgary. I wait over 6 hours on the arranged delivery date and it never showed up. After a long frustrating phone call, I was finally told that it wasn't delivered due to being damaged. I guess no one at Sears delivery has a phone to let the customer know about this. Then I was told that I would have to call the store and reorder. When I did this, the new delivery date was too late for when I needed it. so May 2 I cancelled the order and was told no problem - credit card will be refunded. Today is June 2 and I still have not received the credit on my credit card. I have called multiple times and am always told it takes 7-10 business days (who are they kidding - in 2015 it takes 24-48 hours max for other retailers). I have tried unsuccessfully to reach someone who might be able to do something. Any suggestions what my next step should be? I hate to embarrass my kids by being arrested for making a scene at the store but I am considering a flat out meltdown in the store, perhaps on a busy Saturday!!!

Koehler lawn mower

We bought a Koehler lawn mower brand new from sear three years ago. Last summer it quite working so we went to local store that we bought it from and they have me the service number. We called the service number several times and were repeatedly told they don't service items not under warrantee. We took it to a small engine mechanic who discovered a recall on the carburetor. We called the service number again and explained it was recall work. They still would not service an item they sold to us even if it was a recall. I then called Koehler about the recall and where I can get it services....had to leave a message or 3, my call was never returned...tried the website and got the same response-none! So after $500 and 1 season of cutting lawns we have to go out and buy another law mower. Sears and Koehler suck and we will never be buying anything from either company again!!!

parts

On May 9th my husband ordered two parts from Sears - one for a weed trimmer and a pump for our dishwasher. We were told 7 - 9 business days. Fifteen business days later I call them. Response: Since the weed trimmer part is not available until late June, the dishwasher pump is on hold until then. Ridiculous. Sears used to have part distribution center where you could pick up a part in a day or so. Not any more - you order from a call center.
This store is streamlining itself into retail oblivion. Shall never buy another appliance there again.
