Repair of a gas cooktop

In December 2022 we called to book this company for repairs to a gas stovetop. We were told there was a minumim fee of under $100 to make the service call. This fee would go against any invoice. Two men arrived at the schedule time and told us that we had to pay $320 up front before they did any work.

Service

On 27 March at our request a technician came to fix our microwave. He determined that its Magnetron did not work and needed replacement. He collected $523 and left to come back after 4-5 business days with the part. No one showed up for a month. Despite our telephone calls. The only person you could talk to was a part timer customer service girl. We finally called the manufacturer who sent a Mechanic yo fix the oven with a $ 64 part as its door assembly was not working properly. I have requested the company yo refund the money collected, at least for the incorrect assessment and part they have offered a $73 refund of the $523. They are unwilling to provide their mailing address to send them a notice. I would not recommend anyone to use this company as they appear to be a non existing company.

Oven repair -- not done

Useless. In over a month - they did not fix the oven although they charged for the main board and installed it; but did not know how to program the board, and refuse to fix the oven or provide a refund.

First - there should be 0 star option in this case.
Second - the company did not fix the oven.
Third - Appliance Repair Team Inc is deceptive. Once you call the service - they are very polite and fast. However, they told us it would be an $80 dispatch fee; minus discount for a new client. When the technician showed up he charged $265 plus tax to diagnose the problem - and only cash or debit (despite what the online information suggests). He then quickly said main board has to be replaced - and that will cost $767.87 + tax) - but 100% that will fix the problem. Well - that was Feb 22, 2023 - and as of March 31 it is neither fixed, nor they are open to any additional discussion. The most recent excuse is that i need to call Bosch how to program the board.

Well - I did call Bosch customer service - and indeed they confirmed that the service company has to do the programming - or work with Bosch technical support to fix the issue. Bosch will, naturally, not give such information to the customer.

Washing machine repair

Said that they replaced a drain pump, which wasn't done. As soon as he left, I had the same problem, washing machine not draining water. Called back, it took 3 weeks for technician to come back. In the meantime I opened the machine myself and found out that the reason the machine wasn't draining was clogged filter. Filter and pump are one part, can't replace one with out the other. After I cleaned the filter there was no more problems. I wish I checked the reviews first.

Oven Repair

BEWARE. THEY ARE DECEITFUL. Company goes by different names!

I called them because my oven wasn't heating. I was told there would be an $80 diagnostic assessment fee. After the diagnostic was done, the technician Kas (Kasra) charged over $300 for the assessment, not $80 as they had said before. The problem was diagnosed as a "main board" issue, and they required a $727 deposit payment upfront to fix the problem. On the day of the scheduled repair, the technician shattered the glass door and did not fix the original problem. It took 2 weeks for the company to respond to me. They said I would need to pay an additional $600 up front for them to fix the door THEY BROKE. 2 weeks later, another customer reps calls me that the technician would fix both the door and the original problem, but I would need to pay the remaining balance of the deposit before sending a technician to do the repairs. I have paid them over $1000 in deposits, and the company continues to insist I pay more money up front before any work is done.

Their MO is that they say their diagnostic service fee is $80, but then charge over $300 after the diagnostic is done to account for "labour". Then they take grossly inflated upfront deposits with no estimated time for completion. They send a "technician" to "fix" the problem, he does not actually fix the problem, and either 'finds' or creates other problems, which they ask for more deposits on. Please NEVER do business with these people.

The customer rep Ilona (FYI no one from this company will provide their last name) is particularly rude, unprofessional, and uses aggressive tactics to secure payments.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY

This company is dishonest about how they provide their services. They charge a $80 dispatch fee and before they diagnose the problem they charge $361.60 and make it seem as if this is the cost to repair the appliance. They were called to service my fridge and my father shared with them what was wrong and the way the customer service representative spoke, the understanding was that the technician was going to fix my fridge. When the technician arrived my elderly aunt agreed to the price and contract in hopes of being helpful because the company arrived earlier that the scheduled service appointment. My aunt was asked to sign a contract before they opened the fridge. Unfortunately I lost my money because the contact was signed and the money was paid before I got home. Fortunately, I made it home in time before the money for replacement parts were paid for. They do not provide the customer with the appropriate information to make an informed decision about the repairs. There is additional proof on Homestars of people having similar experiences with this company and sadly for those who went ahead with repairs, losing their money because they did not fix their appliances. When I called customer service the person kept referring to the contract saying that it was signed and there was nothing that could be done. I honestly do not understand how a company such as this one is still in service. I was sad to read similar reviews on this website as well.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

This is the worse appliance company I have ever used.
My oven broke down and a technician told me the main terminal board needed to be replaced. Waited two weeks for the technician to return only to be informed that it he had the wrong part.
I was told it was the supplier's fault, which I very much doubt.
After four days I was told that they couldn't get the part and I would receive a refund. I had already paid the service call fee and 50% of the part ($869). Nobody from accounting called me re the refund so I called them and was informed that I would be charged for the 2nd repair visit even though it was their mistake bringing the wrong part. The accounting person I spoke with didn't care what my story was and said IT IS OUR POLICY TO CHARGE FOR A 2nd VIST.
The whole fiasco cost me hundreds of dollars.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

Refridgerator repair

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!. Save your time and aggravation. I have already documented how bad the admin staff are at scheduling and canceling. I paid $800 for a repair ($300 for the service call, and $500 for the part I was told needed to be replaced ). Less than 3 weeks later, my fridge was again freezing over and not keeping my food cold. I was told by the tech that i had a 2 month warranty. When i called and asked to speak to the manager - the only option was to go to an online chat (Wendy was the apparent manager). I was told that my warranty expired and there was "nothing they could do".....seriously????? $800 and less than a month later, the same issue happened????? Worst company start to finish i have ever dealt with on so many levels. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AND DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!

Broken fridge

My fridge stopped working and my wife called this company to schedule a repair. The technician came and quickly looked at the fridge and told us that a new compressor was required at a cost of $1875.8 including the cost of labour that would be performed whenever the compressor was installed. I cancelled the service after finding out that I could buy a new fridge for less than the cost of repairing the old one. Now they are charging me labour that was not done. What was initially an $80 dollar visit to diagnose the problem turned into a $271.1 charge for a service that was never done. I called the technician (Sam) to inquire about it, but the guy does not answer the phone. I called the company and a rude secretary answered the call and refuses to speak to their own technician to sort this out. it's been 38 days since the cancellation and I still have not received a refund, which was supposed to take 15 business days. This is not a reputable company and I will never use their service or recommend them to anyone. They have no respect or consideration for their clients.

Washing Machine repair

f anyone needs appliance repair, DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY!!! I can't stress enough, don't use them. My washing machine broke, and they came out on February 18th to tell me what was wrong. They had to order the part. I called them twice to find out whether the parts were in yet and they weren't. Then the parts came in for them to cancel 1 appointment, reschedule and I had to call them at 5:25pm when they were supposed to be here at 5, only to find out the technician had to leave his area, but no one called me.
Finally they came today with no apology or anything and were in and out in 20 mins.
Horrible customer service as well. They are very rude.
