Beware of Appliance Repair Team

Check BBB reviews. Unfortunately I didnt and booked a service appointment for my washing machine. They came and said it needed a drain pump motor. We waited a few days and the part was installed and before he left, he said to wait 2 hours before using it. After the two hours, the machine was still broken. I called their office and they informed me that my machine needed another part that cost over $800. I asked why wasnt this wasnt diagnosed in the first place. They gave me the runaround and then realized this entire company is set up to take peoples money without fixing the issue. All the reviews on BBB are the same, they initially tell you that one part is needed and it has to be paid BEFORE the part arrives. They only take cash or debit card payments. They ask you to wait hours before using your appliance again which gives them time to disappear. They never leave a mobile number or name. They have a call centre that fields calls and no address. Despicable company.

Do not book!

We called for a dryer diagnose and repair. They hoaxed my husband and I into paying $90 for just showing up and then tell told us itll actually be $290 + tax to diagnose my dryer. The customer service rep did not disclose this over the telephone while booking and made it seem like it would be $90 to diagnose the problem and that costs for labour and parts for the repair will be given after the tech diagnoses the issue. Upon arrival the tech will insist we pay $290 in order for them to even look into the dryer or the $90 for them just showing up at the door. I wish this business was more transparent with their fees during initial calls. They should advise that an actual diagnosis will start at $290 + taxes rather than tricking customers into thinking its $90. Also, please send more knowledgeable techs with evident credentials. The tech we got was not knowledgeable and told us a bunch of nonsense a generic google search will give you. They didnt tell us the approximate cost of parts and repairs unless we paid the $290. So We just paid the $90 for the tech to show up and do absolutely nothing (he was there for about 5-10minutes) and sent him on his way. Please read reviews before committing to their services. The customer service is extremely rude and ultimately hung up on us twice when we were trying to give feedback and seek a resolution. This is definitely fraud, save yourself your time and money!! We called another (credible) service provider and paid $80 for an actual diagnosis and more appropriate estimate for repairs.

My A Team Review

My story is really no different than the others here. Outrageous pricing, problem not repaired in a dishwasher. They charged $390 for the part that Amazon sold for $50. The dishwasher ran for ~ 3 weeks and then leaked again. When I phoned them they said their parts warranty was 30 days (the manufacturer of the part gives a one year warranty).

Contacted another repair company who charged $150 for the service call, found no trouble with the dishwasher. The service technician indicated the pump was not the problem, it was a slight imbalance of the dishwasher.

My main regret is not checking reviews prior.

BEWARE. DO NOT USE THEM.

STAY AWAY

If you dont want to get ripped off, avoid this company at all costs! They trick customers out of their hard-earned money through downright shady practices. It seems that my experience is just one of many that show how lousy their practices are

I needed a simple dishwasher fix. Their technician, Sam, charged a huge fee just to unscrew a panel, which took him barely a few minutes. He then tried to manipulate me into buying a new part for hundreds of dollars more, claiming it was necessary. Turns out, the part he wanted to replace wasnt even broken!

The real issue was something minor that didnt need any additional parts. It could have been fixed on the spot with a simple and cheap fix. The technician refused to fix it on the spot and instead pushed for a costly part I didnt need, making it clear theyre all about squeezing as much money as they can out of their customers.

When I complained, their response was just as bad, completely dodging the real issue. There are loads of complaints against them, and even the Better Business Bureau has them on the radar. Don't use this company unless you want to throw your money away.

A Mess

Dont find this company!

Washing machine and dryer are broken.
On Nov 15, called a repair company to come.
On Nov 15, the repairman came, checked, and said it would cost $12xx. He said he would come back to fix it when the parts arrive.
On Nov 28, another repairman came but couldnt fix it. He was talking to himself in English, saying he had cut the wires and didnt know how to fix it. He also broke the door frame. Then he called a second repairman, and both were swearing in English thinking we couldnt understand. After a few hours, they said they needed to buy parts and promised to come back the next day, Nov 29. I called the company the same day, and they said the repairman didnt report anything about damaging our items, and they hadnt received any report saying they would come the next day. We directly asked for a refund, and they said once the report was submitted, they would call us back the next day.
On Nov 29, no one called back. We called them, and they said they would respond the next day.
On Nov 30, no one called back. We called them, and they said they dont work on holidays and would reply on Monday.
On Dec 2, no one called back. We called them, and they said they would reply the next day.
On Dec 3, they said no refund was possible. The report claimed that the repairman had fixed everything except for the control board. They also said they wouldnt charge us the remaining $200 because they broke something. I called the manager, but they only trusted their report and wouldnt listen to my side of the story, cutting me off.

Spread the word not to use this company.

Joke

Absolute JOKE of a company. Tech can in looked at my range and said I needed a rotary switch after 5 months still nothing from them. I found 4 switches which I purchased and installed on my own and didn't fix the issue. Called for a refund and was told they would call me back 2 weeks later and another call they refunded me $115. All this after being hung on when calling in to find a status on my part (at least 15 calls in the last 5 months)

washing machine repair

This company does not actually know how to repair appliances! $80 fee is just to come to the house. They do not diagnosis the problem, unless you pay a minimum 1 hour labour rate which is $270 + HST. Why not tell customers that upfront? The technician "played" with my washer setting for an hour and knew it was the control board from the onset. Unplugged the machine and told me to retry in 4 hours. Did absolutely nothing for an hour. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!

Lack of quality service

While the service may have initially looked good, The A Team Appliance Repair does not stand behind their service and if there are issues with the installation, they will not fix it with out charging additional fees. This could have been easy and good service, but unfortunately it was not.

Oven still not working

Why why why did I not read the reviews before calling this dishonest company? Expensive lesson. $3,300 later and my oven still does not work and they were trying to get more money from me (thousands more - they know a sucker when they see one) ! I have investigated legal complaints but I have learned that, even if you get a judgment in small claims court against them you are responsible for collecting it! Not to mention the fees to file in the first place. This company has the whole system figured out. They are making lots and lots of money out of people like me who trust without checking first.

Appliance Repair

WARNING **** Don't use this company, they are dishonest.
Called to repair a 2 year old upright freezer (Frigidaire).
They charged $280 + Tax in advance. The technician checked and said the start relay was stuck and he used a magnet to unstick it, plugged it back in said it cool within 24 hours. Told me to sign off on the work order, which I did. Within a 30 minutes of him leaving the freezer was doing the same thing, relay clicking off , coils not cooling. I called back and they said they would not have him return and it say on the report that I need a compressor. I went back to the hand written invoice and there is illegible scribal that they claim says compressor. The technician did not mention a compressor at all during his visit. If I would have been told tis I would not have proceeded as the cost would be more the than 50% of a replacement freezer.

The fact is that he wrote illegible information on the invoice that that was not consistent with what I was told verbally and they are now denying it.

So the result is they won't return, they spent less than 30 minutes charged me $316.40 only accepted debit (can't get it back) and they I don't have a working freezer.

$316.00
