Great experience all around. We found them to be very helpful right from the start. Much better price than a lot of our quotes. No extras or hidden costs. Highly recommended!

deliveries from vancouver to ontario

I have had the worst experience w/ this company. do not hire them!!! last year my client Arn hired them for a shipment from ontario to vancouver. Arn calls me to tell me that the shipment should have arrived weeks ago but he has heard from them. he couldnt remember the name of the company so it took time to find them. finally when i found them, they told me it wasnt delivered because arn never called them back. Hmm well this is possible . so we had to pay a large amount of money for storage and they then delivered the shipment to his address. A year later (june 2014) Arn died. i decided to use this company to send the family heirlooms and arns belongings to his brother in ontario. i didnt worry about the late delivery of the first shipment because i was certain it was Arns error of not returning thier call. The day of the pick up , everything went smoothly and the driver was very polite and helpful. i had an extra box to be delivered to Gus in ottawa. The driver said it was no problem. he filled out two forms with the two different addresses. i sent an email to samantha at atlantic and she replied...yes she got the extra address , all is good. in aug we found out that the brother and gus have not received thier boxes. atlantic was given two phones numbers and they have 3 (possibly 4) email addresses. they did not try to contact anyone. They now have large storage fees. the brother reluctantly paid the bill.(above the 800) We now find out that gus's package is missing (second address). we have been trying to find the package that was to be delivered to the second address for over a month. in the past month ive explained my full story to 4 staff members and made dozens of phone calls. This does not included the number of times the executor and gus called. They at first would be professional and polite on the phone...but then never return my call. after awhile no one answered the phone and no one would return my messages. please note that i was very polite and friendly to this point. yesterday i left a pleading message on lucys voicemail to please call me back. i got a hold of her today (oct 02). and she said she hasnt had time to check her messages yet . it is 4:30 in the afternoon (?) i explain my full story ...again. This time i am furious and my patience is gone. its been over a month and no one is helping out. this is a family gift from someone who has passed on. She now tells me that they are not responsible for the extra lost package. i contacted the estates lawyer and its a cut and dry case for small claims. There is a lot more to this story. i urge you to stay away from this company. they dont care , they dont fix or even acknowledge their errors. they dont call when your items arrive so they can charge storage fees. its been a painful nightmare. i tried to add this message to their website but they dont allow people to comment in their "comments" section. this means that all thier comments have to been made by them. of course they are all good comments

Atlantic Van Lines movers

Hello Samantha,

I wanted to take a few minutes to thank you so much for your fabulous customer service commitment you demonstrated for the recent move.

I received your phone message last night when I arrived from work, keeping me informed that you had made contact with the "receivers" - Dolores and Alphonse.

Thank you....The execution was excellent.

I will highly recommend Atlantic Van Lines to anyone who is looking to have stuff shipped back East...

Thank you again for your commitment and your professionalism.. Regards Donna.

Furniture Moving

We were told they would be there for pick up before midnight and they showed up at 1:30 am. It took them a month and a half to bring it from Brighton, Ontario to Calgary, Alberta. On delivery we were told they would be there between 2 pm and 6 pm and they didn't show up until 9 am the following day. They have zero communication within their company and use too many third parties that they don't communicate with either. When my stuff arrived a couple of my handmade wood and glass doll cases were broken and the glass was shattered. My wooden hope chest had dings in the sides. I will never use this company ever again!

Atlantic Van Lines

This is the worst experience I’ve had with any company. Everything in the agreement was broken. They gave me a four hour window of when they would arrive to pick up my belongings; I had to wait 5 hours. I was told that the delivery date would be 2-6 days. They DID NOT say business days and did not say departure was from the city I lived in, not my house. It took them three weeks to delivery my belongings from Calgary to Victoria. I would constantly call and ask where my stuff was and they kept telling me its going to be there in two days, over and over again. They had my textbooks, which I need for school so my grades fell because of them.. In addition, I got charged double what I was quoted and they tried to over charge me by calculating the taxes incorrectly! I don’t think I had a single piece of furniture that wasn’t damaged. They transported my vintage record player upside down, which now doesn’t work. When I asked for compensation they used every excuse they could to not reimburse me for the damage but they gave me a whopping $75 for the inconvenience! Are you kidding me?! I STRONGLY discourage using Atlantic Van Lines. Their customer service is appalling and I was treated terribly. It would have been cheaper for me to buy all new belongings than to go with Atlantic Van Lines.

Furniture Move

If we'd have read the online reviews posted over the past few months prior to contracting our move with Atlantic Van Lines, we would never have contemplated doing business with them. We are very happy to say we're glad we didn't !

In the military (DND) I was responsible for the section that coordinated all moves of military personnel with the approved van lines. As such I have significant experience dealing with the industry, including inspection of packing services, and pickup and delivery of furniture and effects for our members. DND held the movers to a very high standard of service. In fact, I have frequently moved throughout my military career as well as afterward.

The pickup and delivery services provided by Atlantic Van Lines for our recent move were stellar by any measure! The crew that loaded our possessions in Montreal (Harp, Ahmed, Mehmet, and Mehmet) arrived early within the service window advised by dispatch. Harp ensured that I read and understood the content of the contact. He also concerned himself that the neighbours affected by the presence of the moving van were aware of how long the move would likely take and that should there be a need for the truck to be moved, that it would be done readily. Each crewmember was very friendly and efficient, skillfully and carefully wrapping and protecting each piece, and did a superior job of loading it into the truck. They barely took a break during the three hours it took to complete the load. We dare any crew to match the professional effort put forward by this crew.

Again, and to our great relief, the 5 member delivery crew (we were too excited to see our possessions to get names) arrived early within the service window advised by dispatch. Each was friendly and skilled at materiel handling, and carefully unwrapped each piece of furniture. They accommodated our every need to position belongings exactly where we wanted them. We were impressed that the entire offload took just about 1 hour. My wife gave each of the crew a big hug for their professionalism.

And the icing on the cake was that everything arrived in the same condition it was picked up in, somewhat of a miracle when you consider the load was transferred to storage in Toronto, and reloaded to a larger moving van to complete the approximate total 2800 kilometer journey from Montreal QC to West St Paul MB. A better move from the actual furniture and effects handling point of view could not have been possible !

We can only report our complete satisfaction with Atlantic Van Lines handling of our move. There was no indication that this company had anything but our best interests in mind when we contracted our move with them. Based upon our experience, we would highly recommend this company for your next move.

We thank Lucy for her efforts. We wholeheartedly extend our great appreciation to the nine able men who we witnessed wrap, load, unload, unwrap, and position our belongings, and to the unknown individuals who handled the Toronto end of the move.

Moving

Please stay away from using this company. They have cause so much stress and anxiety and do not care about the sloppy job they've done.
I had my mothers things in storage with them as she and I had purchased a home together . First the day of the move the night before they called to say they cannot move me beause the truck broke down , it will be on the next day (friday) , friday comes and I'm waiting and waiting finally I called and she told me that no they will not be coming the truck is not fixed I said you only have one truck? I demanded that they rent a truck or they can pay my rent of where I was staying she said we will compensate you. The same day she calls back to confirm they will be there Sat am 8-9 and that I can deduct $35 as they wont charge me for the extra 2 days in storage I said really cause its your fault its in there for 2 more days then she says ok $113 gee I said all this inconvince and you only deducted that unacceptable.
Sat morning they were 212 hrs late , they load only my bedroom furniture and we go to the new place . Here were it gets worse... they bring all my mothers boxes I can hear on the boxes clearly marked FRAGILE that whatever was in there was broken and sure enough it was all the boxes marked fragile were broken , the guy says take pictures you have 10 days to summit a claim. I have a phone full of pictures. Wait it gets better they dont assemble your bedroom no one told me that ever never even mentioned it . So they leave we start to assemble my bedroom and guess what everyone they gave me someone else's mattress ( they had 2 other deliveries to make after mine and my mattress was the last thing they brought in and mine is just a year old , this mattress you can tell was at least 10 yrs old and stained beyond anything you can imagine I called right away she tells me oh I will check the warehouse I said why it was on the truck it wasnt in storage and she said oh they wont come back today. Monday comes I call and she told me I'm still checking I said check what ??? by now who ever they gave it to has a new mattress and do they even know which delivery they gave it to . I summitted my claim and she told me it will take 6-8 weeks I said no way I am not waiting that long for a mattress I demand a cheque for the cost of my mattress and I will go and buy an new one and to come and get that disgusting one out of my house .she keeps telling me I have to check with my manager (this is all this girls knows how to say ) I told her give me your manager , oh she isnt here right now I said give me her email or the presidents email or you will hear from my lawyers , it like crickets in the air no resopnse . And I'm still waiting nearly a week into this .

Do yourselves a favour stay away from them !! no customer service skills and no sympathy for the stress they caused .

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!! They ripped me off and over charged me. I called to complain about the cost, Renee assured me there was no scaling fee error. When I told her it was impossible that my stuff weighed that much she put me on hold, 5mins later she came back and said "I just had your stuff scaled again and you were right there was an error" changing my amount by $400. I know my stuff did not weigh what they charged me for. Most of my stuff arrived damaged, my book shelf came broke in half. My most valuable things are missing.
They're rude, money hungry and I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy!!

Edit: We filled out the claim form right away and were assured someone call us in 4-6 weeks. It's now August 27th and the company is completely ignoring us. They don't respond to emails anymore and our phone calls are sent to voice mail and they never return our calls.

Move

We contacted this company in January to organise a move from Ontario to Alberta. We had packed all our items carefully when we recieved them back, furniture was broken, appliances were cracked and our bed was delivered missing pieces. We are still to get these back....This company offered us $75 as compensation, wont be accepting that its an insult. The movers on both sides of the collection and delivery also did not ensure they wore protective covers on shoes or took the time to lay blankets even though I asked them too. Would never recommend this company. Submitted a claim, ten weeks went by , emailed the company twice before them contacted me back and then they made me the $75 offer
