Adt Protectron - Out of Business

I've had an alarm system through the old Protectron company for over 15 years and had no issues and great customer service. Since Protectron merged with ADT I've had a security camera installed and have had nothing but trouble. The technical support is terrible, they know nothing about the products they sell and can do nothing to help. I've had numerous technicians to the house to fix the problem and frankly I know more about the computer setup than they do. if you are looking to get a security system for peace of mind monitoring, do not go with ADT.

Were with ADT for 2.5 years. We tried to move our service when we moved, it's supposed to be free but when we had someone come to switch it, they told us it's be 200-300 dollars plus we HAD to sign up for another 3 yeaf contract. We decided to cancel, received what we thought was our final bill, paid it, ghen got a call from a credit protection agency saying they were taking us to collections if we didnt pay ANOTHER 260$. Paid that too, I keep all my bills and we NEVER received an additional bill. They also sent someone to our new house at 8pm on a weeknight. They harrassed us, told us what a terrible neighbourhood we live in (Clayton Height). Continued to gloat about how he lived in West Van and continued to tell us about how we couldnt afford too but he could. Completely insulted us and then when we said we would not go back with ADT, he had the audacity to tell us how rare that is for our neighbourhood since it's so "sketchy". Then he wished us "Good Luck". Terrible service...

Sign in with protectron and now like to change company after 3 years the refuse to give me the dealer code now I have to replace the control . They don't give you a free equipment like is on the contract check and have written on the contract to have installer code and dealer code given to you at contract end

I have been with ADT for over 12 years now. We put it in our first home but moved shortly after and they had no problem at all relocating it for us and adding an extra sensor free of charge. Recently we were having trouble with a door sensor so I made a service call, the tech came out the next day which is unheard of! The door sensor was replaced, no questions asked, I figured since we only pay our monitoring fee we would need to pay for this but no, it was covered! The tech, was very professional, I have found this with all of their staff actually, he even put covers over his shoes! He told me I could request batteries for my sensors if I needed them in the future, this was news to me. Of course one sensor required a new set a week later so I called and it wasn't on my service plan but the nice rep on the phone told me she would send me out two as a courtesy this once which was great! Sure enough, two days later the courier showed up at my door! ADT goes above and beyond, I have never had trouble with my system and their customer service is second to none! I will never go anywhere else! I should also mention I have had the same monthly fee for 9 years, no other service can say that!

I have been with ADT-Protectron for quite a while now. Things have been going very well so far. The service has been Excellent and overall performance of the system is very good.

When ever the alarm goes off, notifications have been prompt. I would recommend ADT-Protectron to anyone wanting a security system installed in their residence.

Please consider all other alarm security companies before deciding to sign on with ADT Protectron. We use them for our business and we have experienced so many issues:
1. Horrible customer service. This is both for the monitoring call centre and the techincal support.
2. Inconsistent protocol and procedures. Anytime we need to update anything on our end, something goes wrong. We have requested on numerous occasions that we would like a confirmation of our changes and not once did anyone call to confirm. We have received a number of different responses about how to make changes. Fax, email, tech support, customer service. We do everything when we need to make a change - still does not make a difference. Our requests often go unanswered and unconfirmed.
3. Under trained and incompetent staff. Technicians (where we pay extra for) have come on site to make changes that the call centre and tech support were unable to fulfill for us and they were unable to make the requests that we need - we are still unsure of why.
4. Unreliable Security System - ALL of our alarm codes were reset. We were not able to arm or disarm the system before 9:00pm. which means that our office space has been left vulnerable for 4 hours a day for the last few days. No concern on ADT's part. They will file a report for us. This has been the only solution.

Alarm was not activating and called ADT to address issue. Tech came on site and identified contact was damaged due to reno and I was informed that it was chargeable. I called Customer Service 2 days later and I was informed that work is covered under warranty and its NOT chargeable, so I scheduled a tech to fix the problem. Tech came back on site and I informed him what was discussed with the customer service and he told me that its not covered under warranty and its chargeable. I refused the service due to conflicting information given. I called customer service back and agent spoke with the Supervisor and I didn't get anywhere. Even though the agent could sense my frustration on the phone and wouldn't let me speak with the manager.
I GUESS THIS IS THE TYPE OF SERVICE I SHOULD RECEIVE FOR BEING A LOYAL CUSTOMER FOR 10 YEARS!!

I paid the annual fee up front. ADT rep visited home, provided recommendation, package options and pricing. The sales rep was late for appt. He did however call prior to appt time to advise he would be late. The pricing is competitive to other providers, yet, seems to me that all "online " options are far too expensive, a cash grab really, as Internet and cell networks are everywhere and minimal cost. I chose a "non-smart" no Internet or cell solution, purely on cost. An appt was arranged for install. Like the original appt, the installer arrived significantly later than the appt time, although did call in advance to advise he was running "late". The outcome was fair, install complete, but I need another "technician" to come to the house as outdated and malfunctioning equipment was installed in the home. In all, a reasonable experience, about as expected, I would recommend, very thorough rep and installer, both took the time with me to ensure my understanding, confidence, and protection.
