I was very impressed with how thorough Mike's inspection was. He didn't just gloss over anything and wasn't afraid to point out things that were of concern and provide advice on how to remedy them. He was also very friendly and his explanations were clear and easy to understand. I would use him again in a heartbeat.

Mike Heeley inspected a century home that we were considering buying in Cambridge. He arrived on site at the scheduled time, was well-equipped for the job and spent several hours walking us through the exterior and interior of the home. We found him to be knowledgeable, thorough and willing to answer all questions that we had as we went along. Mike was able to identify a number of areas of serious concern in the home that had an impact on our decision not to proceed with the purchase. Mike provided us a detailed written report later the same day as the inspection. We were very happy with his service and were impressed with his knowledge of older homes and his technical capabilities generally. He is easy to work with and his prices are reasonable. We will use Mike again when the occasion arises and have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone who needs a home inspection.

On Sept 1st 2014 we hired Heeley Home Inspections to do an inspection on a house on which we were considering purchasing.
Mike came out on a statutory holiday, knowing that our timelines were limited. That is the first thing that impressed us. When we got there at the designated time, he was already on the roof!
The inspection lasted almost four hours and Mike took the time to answer our questions as we went, all the while taking notes and snapping photos. At the end, we had a good idea what was ahead in terms of what had to be repaired/replaced.
His comprehensive and detailed 65 page report, including photos and recommendations, arrived in my inbox a few hours later and we were able to formulate a plan.
The home was built in the 50’s and was largely in original condition, but Mike was quickly able to determine that it was well built and maintained over the years.
We have in fact purchased the home, and look forward to years of enjoyment.

Having quite a bit of experience in home renovation I bought my house without condition of inspection. From there we went inside where he was very thorough in explaining everything in a way that me (a first time home buyer) would understand. Mike Heeley was extremely professional, objective, and clear during our home inspection, which we greatly appreciated as new home buyers. He spent time outlining each point with us thoroughly and was very open in addressing the numerous questions we posed throughout the process. We found that he often went beyond the expectation we had set, by not only addressing a particular question we had asked but highlighting additional interesting information we were unaware of in regards to the issue at hand.

Importantly, although a great deal of information was shared with us during the home inspection, Mike was able to summarize the main points for us concretely as we moved through the various parts of the house. In the summaries, he drew our attention to the most important findings and used language that was easy to understand and which connected with earlier points he had shared. Such summaries, which included both issues and strengths of the home, made it very easy to consider all aspects of the house.

The report that he generated was delivered the same day of the inspection and reflected the style with which he approached the actual home inspection. The document was highly detailed, well-organized, easy to navigate, and contained all of the information he had shared with us during the home inspection.

I hired Heeley Home Inspections for a home inspection based off the reviews of this board. The many positive reviews are spot on with describing the service Mike performs. From the beginning to the end, everything was simple, smooth, and very thorough at the same time. Mike was early and did the outside inspection before hand. Upon my arrival, he already had stuff to point out and took the time to explain everything. There was no difference when entering the house either. Section by section he went through it all. He had no problem answering any questions or providing suggestions on how to fix. At the end he sat me down and we went over everything again. I found this recap very useful as you have tons of stuff going through your mind during the inspection. The report was provided in a timely manner and contains tons of information. It is very easy to follow, read, and includes lots of pictures that Mike takes during the inspection. His service does not stop after the inspection either.
