An assisted review is collected by a contractor on behalf of the homeowner after their work is completed. The homeowner must confirm the text of the review and may make any changes she or he deems appropriate. The homeowner then assigns the contractor a review score out of 10. Assisted reviews receive the same scrutiny as other reviews and must follow our review guidelines.
On Sept 1st 2014 we hired Heeley Home Inspections to do an inspection on a house on which we were considering purchasing. Mike came out on a statutory holiday, knowing that our timelines were limited. That is the first thing that impressed us. When we got there at the designated time, he was already on the roof! The inspection lasted almost four hours and Mike took the time to answer our questions as we went, all the while taking notes and snapping photos. At the end, we had a good idea what was ahead in terms of what had to be repaired/replaced. His comprehensive and detailed 65 page report, including photos and recommendations, arrived in my inbox a few hours later and we were able to formulate a plan. The home was built in the 50’s and was largely in original condition, but Mike was quickly able to determine that it was well built and maintained over the years. We have in fact purchased the home, and look forward to years of enjoyment.
