Fridge repair

This company isn't legitimate. The technician they sent was no where near competent. After reading some other reviews here I suspect that their plan is to get people to pay for the diagnosis and then tell the customer that the part is more expensive then the appliance is worth. Talking to management resulted in them refusing to come out to do what they had agreed to do for the money that they were charging and instead offering to reduce the cost for the service call where the technician effectively did nothing. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Oven repair

Horrible service. After the initial conversation with an agent I booked a technician. A person who arrived informed me that I needed to pay $290 upfront just to diagnose the issue. The repair itself would cost anywhere from $10-900. The worst part was that the agent misinformed about the cost of service and sold a service under a false promise. Turned out its a common story and people get charged insane money without problems being fixed.

Fridge Repair

AVOID. Have already reported company to Better Business Bureau and credit card company.
Fridge would only cool to 55F (should be 37). Repair person came, said I needed to order compressor for $3000 to repair, but he could fix enough until I ordered the part. So I paid him over $300, and nothing improved, fridge still was 55. Called to complain, they said nothing could be done until I ordered the part.
Ended up calling another company who ordered a part for $350 (wasn't even compressor), and fridge is working perfect now.
Avoid at all costs.

Terrible company and service

Absolutely terrible and unreliable company. The technician came and diagnosed our issue, charged us $300 to fix it and then told us the part was discontinued and couldnt be fixed. Were now out $300 for him to sit on our kitchen floor on his phone for 15 minutes (without a mask on by the way) and we need to purchase a new microwave. I called their customer service to be refunded the difference between the diagnosis quote ($80) and the amount to fix it and they hung up on me! DO NOT USE.

LG Washing Machine Service Call

Technician charged $300 for a five-minute assessment. Said the drum in the 3-year old washing machine needed replacement. The cost to replace was more than the machine cost three years ago. We threw him out. Turns out LG offers a lifetime warranty on the drum, which the unscrupulous technician failed to mention. What a waste of $300. Never again!

Avoid Appliance Repair Team. They are Dishonest

My fridge/freezer stopped working and I called them. The tech said it wasn't the compressor but a control board. Sounds familiar? Many have reported them saying the same thing and not delivering.
The first thing was that they wanted cash or debit, which of course should have shut down the transaction, but I was only told this after the tech had tinkered with my appliance. I paid $746.33 and they were to order the part and come fix it.
One week later, the tech shows up with the wrong part - and another week wait ahead.
I call them at the 2 week mark and they say that they again received the wrong part. I told them I wanted to cancel, to which they said that I would have to pay restocking fees. For a part I never got? And why should I pay for them "ordering" (if they did, as I very much doubt that) the wrong part? Their beef should be with their suppliers. This is outright dishonesty all round, something they seem to relish. They had my money and they think there was nothing I could do about it.
So, 2 MONTHS LATER, after many phone calls and excused on their part, they send a cheque for $285.79. They have essentially charged me almost $500 for nothing!
Do yourself a favour and DO NOT go anywhere near Appliance Repair Team (if they are still doing business under this name when you read this review) unless you want to throw your money into a pigs trough.
This operation is entirely and obviously dishonest.

Dishonest operation

A washing machine needed repair. They announced that the problem was not electronics but a pump. We responded that the pump had just been replaced. They claimed it was a different pump and charged $864.45 to replace it. They switched out the pumps, announced that the problem was solved and left. Immediately upon the person leaving, my wife tested the machine. There was no change. It still did not work and the same error message came up.

After multiple phone calls from my wife and one from me (I am a lawyer), their position was that the machine needs a new motherboard (contrary to what the repairman had said), that they cannot provide a new motherboard and that they would like to sell us a new hose at a 15% discount (having just told us that the machine needs a new motherboard). They are quite cheery throughout, as if thumbing their nose.

They do not even put up a pretence of legitimacy.

Based on the other reviews here, it seems that this is their business model. They do not repair and perhaps do not know how. They take your money and run.

Dryer repair

Charged $800 for a dryer heating element (incl labor...found out later the part actually costs $145 and was quoted $575)…thought that was still a lot cheaper than a new dryer…showed up, did the $80 'supposed' diagnostic review of the problem, said it was the heating element, would take 3-4 days to get the heating element delivered to them…called them 7 days later and they said the repair person would be there the next day between 1-4…didn’t show, then called them to see where they were and was told they would be there between 4-7 that day then called back to say it would be the next day….they came, replaced the heating element and told me to wait 3-4 hours before use…needless to say it didn’t work, got them back a week later to be told the motherboard was fried…to replace the motherboard was another $550 (actual cost $115)…told them with the initial $800+$550 could easily buy a new one…asked why they didn’t say what the problem was at the beginning (heating element plus motherboard) and he said he didn’t know it was the motherboard until then…said he would report to the company and we could get our initial $800 back in the morn…well guess what happened…no refund (lot of non sensical reasons). So we’re going to seek legal action. Do not use this company. (Wish I checked Homestars first!).

Ice maker repair

Terrible service!!! Stay away at all cost!!!

Called for ice maker repair, was told to pay $80 for service call, after 5 minutes of looking technician told me I need to replace the ice maker, quoted me $680 for a new part, which I agreed to order. After two days he came back to install it, told me to wait 24 hours for the ice maker to work, well it never did. Called the company several times to complain and was completely ignored, finally I asked for the manager and was told that the technician will be back to check the ice maker. He came over looked at the freezer and said oh you need a new part “the control board” and that will be another $400!!!!!

Don’t hire this company for any repairs!!!!!!
