Pillar to Post

I hired Pillar to Post to perform a home inspection, and the inspector improperly and mistakenly failed to identify the home's foundation was wood construction and reported that the foundation was built of concrete. This is a huge mistake, and I have come to learn a rather obvious mistake, which has cost me several thousand dollars and Pillar to Post refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing and/or accept any accountability for their actions. Avoid!!!

I recently bought a house and had Pillar To Post, perform the home inspection. They were very professional & answered all the questions that I had. Very happy with the home inspection & would recommend Pillar To Post Home Inspectors to anyone that is purchasing a home.

Leslie was punctual, kind, informative and friendly. He took a lot of our fears and put them to rest with such a superb inspection. He was very detailed and thought of things that we never would have considered. He said we would get an email of the report from him around 5pm (inspection ended at noon) but by almost 8 we hadn't received anything to review and we worried the email address wasn't working. Never questioned his intergrity for a second because he was excellent. Called in to ask if maybe something went wrong in the email and the guy who answered was really defensive saying Les was probably eating supper with his family but that he would call him and get him to send it. The guy was real rude. We weren't calling to rush Leslie at all. We just believed him when he said it would be there at a certain time and were honestly concerned that something went wrong. When you pay that kind of money for a report, the last thing you want is to be snapped on when your worrying why it hasn't come through yet. So to recap, we would recommend Leslie to everyone! But that response left us feeling a little sour.

The gentlemen who did the inspection was really nice but we were really disappointed about a mistake he made. He told us the hot water tank in the home was brand new, purchased in 2010; it turned out to be from 2001 and it broke days after we purchased the home. It ended up being a costly expense that we could have accounted for when buying the house if it had been inspected properly.

Recently my husband and I put in an offer on a 20 year old home. Not knowing what kind of surprises this would bring us, we wanted to ensure a home inspection was a part of the conditional sale.

I chose Pillar to Post after checking reviews of several companies online. They seemed real, down to earth, and thorough.

I called them on a Monday and they were able to meet on a Tuesday for the inspection. The inspection took a few hours and was very detailed going through every room of the house. It seemed like every little thing was checked. Les, who was doing the inspection, was very personable and his extensive experience showed. With the background of a contractor, and the "been there, done that" age of experience, it was evident that he was extremely knowledgeable.

We didn't have to wait any time to get our report. After reviewing his findings with me he burned the report to a CD and gave it to me on site. He also included a binder full of information about their service, home maintenance tips, and more.

We are able to complete our purchase with confidence thanks to Pillar to Post!

This home inspection was for a home we didn't end up buying, but the home inspection was good. The inspector was good at pointing things out to us, walked through the house and pointed things out to us, which is nice. A good report with pictures was also provided after the inspection was done. This was the second time we used pillar to post and after trying many company's we have found them to be the best.

As a first time home buyer I didn't know much about the process and had to rely on my agent to give me good advice. She recommended Pillar to Post for the inspection. The inspector who came out was extremely knowledgable and I immediately felt comfortable with his assessment and advice. He gave me a binder afterwards that outlined what he had inspected, the condition of what he had inspected, and also advice on timelines to have things in my home checked/maintained/replaced.
I went away from the experience feeling like I had just walked through a home inspection with a dad; I felt he was looking out for me and had my best interest in mind.

In June of 2011, we made an offer to purchase a pre-owned home. One of conditions we put on our offer was to have a home inspection done. Our realtor gave us the name of a company some of his past clients used which was Pillar to Post. They were punctual and professional. He reviewed with us in detail all the items he inspected, reviewed his recommendations and asked if we had any questions. We walked through the house with him for some of it. As this as our first time, i found him to be very helpful. He then walked us through the furnace area and showed us where he added labels for us on our furnace, hot water tank and some other areas which he showed my husband. He provided us with a binder with different references inside and checklists for our future use. They even include a DVD of the inspection...not sure if everyone does this but that was great. Once everything was completed, he told us if we had any other questions we could call him otherwise it was all documented and on DVD as well. I would use here guys again and would recommend them to others.

Home inspection was ok. However, I was not told about the some of the vents and afew other minor things. I realized those things later when getting furnace maintenance. The rest of the work was great.

Les form Pillar to Post was very friendly. He was very thorough, and explained everything to us as he went through the home. He spent three hours inspecting the home, and at the end gave us a detailed report, complete with pictures and description of everything that will need repair now and in the future. He also gave us a guide to maintaining our home and coupons. Highly recommended!
