I have no idea where to start on this rant, so I'll begin with the "latest". Oven range, Kenmore, self cleaning, less than 3 years old. On Dec.4th the bottom element of the oven literally bubbled up and exploded into at least 20 pieces (which I've kept). When I opened the oven door, a cloud of grey mist/dust came out. I had the oven set at 350 f. I don't know how hot it was, but the pieces of the element left actual burn marks AND grooves in the bottom of the oven. We don't have an actual Sears store here, only an outlet. I went there to try and get a repairman to come. I was told they no longer offer that service, but gave me her bro-in-law's #, as he does repairs. No Thanks...Apparently, Sears has laid off ALL of their service guys in May, 2014. I then phoned the Sears parts department and ordered the part from them. I know I ordered the right part because whoever I spoke to (and I do have her name and email address) sent me illustrations of my oven and between us we came up with the right part. Said it would be here by Dec 24th...remember, this happened Dec 4th...(20 days to get a part?)...I had 8 people coming for Xmas dinner and told her that. About a week before Xmas, I called her (my call ignored)..then I emailed her....she emailed back, asking for my phone #...I emailed it back within 2 hours from her email....that's the last I heard from her...I've emailed 3 times and have been ignored. I then got the executive office's email and wrote them. I received a call 2 days later. Said I shouldn't have been told the piece was in stock because it wasn't but it is now. Executive office guaranteed the piece would be here within 7 days. They would be shipping right to my house by either ups or fedex...We are at the 10th days and nothing...Huge surprise...Initially, the first person told me the piece cost $75 plus tax and Shipping...what has been charged to my Visa is $65,..this worries me now because if the piece ever does show up, will it be the right one?...I had to cancel my Xmas dinner, my husband and I had microwaved hot dogs....New year's has come and gone also...In case anyone hasn't been keeping count, we are now at 4 Sears representatives, and 30 days. Sears used to be the people to go to for purchases and services, never again. I'm seeing that I don't have a lot of space left for my next story, so I'll have to condense it. Bought a Kenmore staked washer/dryer, couldn't get it balances....2-3 service guys came in (that's when they had the service),..finally said my floor was uneven. My husband fixed the floor and it still was off balance. Every time it went into a spin cycle, I'd have to push my hip up against the unit to stop the rattling...bottom line...I had to get another guy in years later to fix the heating element on the dryer and he found that the shipping bolt wasn't taken off and that's what was happening, the washer tub couldn't more freely. I will never use Sears again and will never buy another Kenmore product. I intend now to copy all correspondence and write directly to the CEO of Sears. I don't care that the oven is 3 just over 3 years old, I will be asking for my money back.
