bedroom set

sears has become a horrible company to deal with ever since their office has moved to the philipines. the staff are ill-equipped to deal with phone calls re: customer service. they are robotic and hang-up when they cannot answer the questions. they are not willing to or able to provide the best service.

i ordered a bedroom set, which arrived on two different dates. some of the pieces were broken and they have made it so difficult to return and provide a new one.

i am writing this review to prevent people from using sears and will close my sears credit card as soon as a resolution is received.

warranty

got an extended warranty they stated if we did not use it would get our money back did not use the warranty called to get money back was told it was a coupon and had to spend double to use it but many exceptions so pretty much useless. feel like I was robbed. I am boycotting sears. I wished I never experienced dealing with them.

Part

Ordered a part in nob for my dishwasher. The part that came was incorrect, filled out the paper work that was included in the box if the part was incorrect and mailed the part back incl a picture of the part needed. 6 weeks later still no part! Called sears and found out that they don't send you the correct part. They wait till you call and order what you need. Kept my money no problem! Now I'm on hold with the call centre waiting for a manager... 25 mins and counting. Not expecting any response from Sears as I see no one followed up with the other negative feedback.

Leaky Front Load Washing Machine

I placed a service call for a Kenmore front load washing machine that was leaking. I waited three days for the initial diagnostic service, whom informed me that I had a leaky drain pipe, but that the part was not in stock and had to be ordered. Three days after the initial appointment, the technician returned with the part, but that did not solve the problem. Upon the third visit, the technician could not locate the source of the leak and asked that I call into Customer Service and request a technical "Lead Head". Repeated calls to Customer Service to get my case escalated or to have my call prioritized was met with little enthusiasm from Sears and I am now waiting an additional 4 days for a 4th visit from Sears.

I have asked repeatedly to speak with a service manager or Dispatcher to have my case escalated, but they keep telling me about how busy they are and promises to have a supervisor call me back have not been met. This is the worst customer service I have received from a major retail brand (an institution in Canada).

$220.00
What could this company do to improve their services?
They need to put customers first. They need to listen to their concerns and live up to the commitments they make.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
I would recommend purchasing your major home appliance from any other big box store other than Sears.

Washer Repair

Bought a 5 year extended warranty from Sears in 2012. Our washer broke down 3 weeks ago, i called Sear for a weekend appointment and the earliest they could sent someone out is 2 weeks later 24 Jan. The rep which i spoke to, told me that they will scheduled someone out on the 24th and call me the night before to give me a time on what time they will arrive. Guess what Friday night passed no one called, i called early Sat morning and was told they will come between 8-12 noon. Noon passed, no one came........ I called back and was told the rep àccidentially`booked it for the 31st . Really good excuse to cover a NO show rep. Its 31st today and i am still waiting.........WARNING: Do not buy anything from Sears again, the state that they are in today, i dont really pity them........Really disappointed....... Please just close down ........no point letting you customers down over and over agin.....

Storkcraft crib

Our 5 month old got her leg caught between the bars of new crib. The side bars are at proper specs width, but clearly this is a safety issue that should be re-examined. If ANY infant has this happen, the bar width should be re-assessed.

oven range

I have no idea where to start on this rant, so I'll begin with the "latest". Oven range, Kenmore, self cleaning, less than 3 years old. On Dec.4th the bottom element of the oven literally bubbled up and exploded into at least 20 pieces (which I've kept). When I opened the oven door, a cloud of grey mist/dust came out. I had the oven set at 350 f. I don't know how hot it was, but the pieces of the element left actual burn marks AND grooves in the bottom of the oven. We don't have an actual Sears store here, only an outlet. I went there to try and get a repairman to come. I was told they no longer offer that service, but gave me her bro-in-law's #, as he does repairs. No Thanks...Apparently, Sears has laid off ALL of their service guys in May, 2014. I then phoned the Sears parts department and ordered the part from them. I know I ordered the right part because whoever I spoke to (and I do have her name and email address) sent me illustrations of my oven and between us we came up with the right part. Said it would be here by Dec 24th...remember, this happened Dec 4th...(20 days to get a part?)...I had 8 people coming for Xmas dinner and told her that. About a week before Xmas, I called her (my call ignored)..then I emailed her....she emailed back, asking for my phone #...I emailed it back within 2 hours from her email....that's the last I heard from her...I've emailed 3 times and have been ignored. I then got the executive office's email and wrote them. I received a call 2 days later. Said I shouldn't have been told the piece was in stock because it wasn't but it is now. Executive office guaranteed the piece would be here within 7 days. They would be shipping right to my house by either ups or fedex...We are at the 10th days and nothing...Huge surprise...Initially, the first person told me the piece cost $75 plus tax and Shipping...what has been charged to my Visa is $65,..this worries me now because if the piece ever does show up, will it be the right one?...I had to cancel my Xmas dinner, my husband and I had microwaved hot dogs....New year's has come and gone also...In case anyone hasn't been keeping count, we are now at 4 Sears representatives, and 30 days. Sears used to be the people to go to for purchases and services, never again. I'm seeing that I don't have a lot of space left for my next story, so I'll have to condense it. Bought a Kenmore staked washer/dryer, couldn't get it balances....2-3 service guys came in (that's when they had the service),..finally said my floor was uneven. My husband fixed the floor and it still was off balance. Every time it went into a spin cycle, I'd have to push my hip up against the unit to stop the rattling...bottom line...I had to get another guy in years later to fix the heating element on the dryer and he found that the shipping bolt wasn't taken off and that's what was happening, the washer tub couldn't more freely. I will never use Sears again and will never buy another Kenmore product. I intend now to copy all correspondence and write directly to the CEO of Sears. I don't care that the oven is 3 just over 3 years old, I will be asking for my money back.

Childrens

Placed order online for Christmas on Dec. 9th that was promised to me by Dec. 15th. They never responded to my emails inquiring about my order once it was late and I had to actually go to a Sears to speak to someone. I was repeatedly told it was on its way, the trucks were just delayed because of bad weather and I will for sure have it for Christmas. I then get an email saying my order status has changed (THE DAY BEFORE Christmas) to "unavailable," even after being told it had shipped a week before. I could have gotten the item on time if I had ordered through a different company. In the end I never received my item or a refund. In the process of getting that dealt with because you have to contact them for refund, even if they didn't send you your order. BAD COMMUNICATION, TERRIBLE SERVICE, CUSTOMER REPRESENTATIVES THAT MISLEAD YOU. DO NOT SHOP AT SEARS!

Purchase on line item

Ordered a product on line to be delivered. Noticed the confirmation had my address incorrect so I phoned Sears twice to confirm they had the correct address so that it would be delivered on time when scheduled being that was a Christmas gift. On the delivery date of course not delivered. When I called they said they had an incorrect address. I was so frustrated I cancelled the order. I was then assured my credit card would be credited within 7-10 days. That was 16 days ago. I phoned today and was told that only last week did they start the process for the reimbursement back to my card and that it will take another 7-10 days. Meaning a month to get reimbursed. Funny how the charge is immediately taken from your card, but it takes a month to get your money back. Also no one at the call centre really cares about your concern, just polite and thank you, but very little is resolved. Tsf's from Dept to Dept and asked the same identifying information which becomes very annoying after the 4th phone call and transfer from person to person. I won't buy from Sears.ca ever again!

Samsung fridge repair

Trying for 8 wks to get fridge repaired. First, technician looked at fridge for 30 secs and said part had to be ordered. Second technician tried to enter house when we were at work and tried to force himself in house with child home, since then we have had 3 times booked and no shows. Call centre staff no help and attempted to get personal info. Will never shop at Sears again.
