Wasps in the basement

Many Wasps finding their way into my house in the basement..
Alan from NIMBY came and inspected the house.
He found the Wasp entry point but also wanted to check inside.
Alan inspected up in the drop ceiling and found the actual wasp nest. He expertly removed it pretty quickly and cleaned everything up. It was pretty impressive. I would call NIMBY again in the future for any pest problem.

Wasp control

Thanks Paul for coming on such short notice last Sunday to take care of the bees/wasps that had made a nest inside of the walls
of my house. I could hear the bees while I slept and was very
grateful when Paul came within an hour on a Sunday. Paul was very
pleasant to deal with and I would not hesitate to use his services in the future if needed!

Rodent removal

Called Nimby to deal with a rodent problem after hearing scratching in the walls. Alan came to inspect, could not determine what type of rodent this was, charged me $100.00, and told me to wait until there was clear evidence. Not good advice since rodents multiply quickly. When I finally did have something concrete, I called him back. By then the problem was far worse. Alan set one trap and put down poison in the basement ceiling space, assuring me that he had a great deal of expertise and success dealing with rodents. I expressed my concern that I could end up with a dead rodent inside my wall space, and the awful smell which takes a long time to get rid of . Alan assured me that he would deal with it if that happened. It did in fact happen, at which point Alan asked for more money. I had already paid him a total of $400.00. When I reminded him that the service came with a six month warranty he advised that this was a limited warranty and stopped returning my calls or text messages. I called the owner of the company, whose attitude was equally callous and shoddy. There was no interest in providing fair service to the customer. I had to hire another company to deal with the problem.

Terrible

We have had some sort of rodent in the wall for over a month now, right at the head of our bed. Our landlord had this company come in. He put four holes in the wall and put food with poison in it to kill them and covered up with electrical tape. He used our broom to sweep up the mess he made but a huge mess was still left for me to clean up. The rodent problem never went away so he had to come back. He put more food and poison in the wall only making the problem worse. The rodents have been louder than ever and sound like they are chewing the holes in the wall trying to get IN. He is not finding how they are getting in and that is the problem. He spends about 20 minutes here a time. No follow up calls to see if problem is gone, no plans to come back and patch up holes, nothing. I would never recommend this company to anyone and will be having another company come in to fix the issue.

Hornets est removal

I discovered a large honest nest above the front door to our home that was extremely difficult to reach due the height and a projecting plexiglass canopy.

Paul Adam was quick to respond even though it was a weekend. He did an excellent job and was a pleasure to deal with even with his "ghostbusters" uniform and paraphernalia.

Bird nest removal

I had Nimby (Paul) come and remove a birds nest in our soffit of our roof. I showed him the problem and went back inside, I came out when it sounded like he was packing back up to see an eyesore on our roof where all he did was put up some chicken wire and screw it in with a giant silver washer. When I ask him to 'clean it up' (both the job and the bird droppings), he gave me attitude as if I was putting him out. He cleaned the droppings until he said 'that's good enough' using my bucket and broom filled with soap and water that I had to provide. Now I have to get back up on the roof to finish cleaning and try to hide the mesh so it is not such an eyesore on our new roof. We will not use them again and do not recommend them.

Pest control

Renters of my property reported noises in the basement (I was out of the country). NIMBY personnel visited the property, diagnosed a mice problem, placed bait and charged $350 + tax. On my return, I could, as a layman, immediately discern that this was not a mice problem, but some bigger animal.

The house has a "dead" chimney and the sound was loudest at the boarded off fireplace rough-in. I also noticed that the chimney cover was broken. Sure enough, another company I called immediately diagnosed, over the phone, a raccoon invasion. (Turns out, they were right!)

I called NIMBY asking for a follow up visit. They (Brad, then Paul), literally, hung up on me once it was clear what I was asking for.

I wouldn't go as far as to call them crooked, but they sure are incompetent and unwilling to live up to their responsibilities. I am going to avoid them in the future; I'd suggest anybody who reads this does the same.

Removed a raccoon from my house

On his first visit, Ole verified that I had raccoons in my heating ducts. He could tell by the sounds approximately how old they were and verified they were raccoons. Told me I could either rip out my ceiling, or wait for the babies to grow up and leave the house. Told me to call him back then (and gave me an approximate time when that would happen) and he'd block up the entrance. Cost to me for that service call: $0.

Six weeks later, the raccoons had left, but before I could call, a baby raccoon came in through the air intake again, and fell into the main furnace area, and couldn't get out. It was scared and screaming - especially at night. Made a call late at night, and Ole talked me through freeing the critter. He arranged an appointment the next day.

From his suggestions, I'd freed the baby raccoon so he wasn't screaming, but left it to Ole to coax him outside. Glad I did, because the young thing hissed up a storm as he was being removed. Ole patched up the intake vent, and I haven't had raccoons since. Cost of the second service call: $100.

I recommended NIMBY to my mother-in-law, who had raccoons on her 2nd floor deck. She called another company who wanted $100 to come by and move the raccoons to her back lawn - with no guarantees they wouldn't be back. She called NIMBY, and they said to spray water on them to let them know they weren't wanted. Sure enough, the mother left, and took her babies with her. Cost to her: $0.

In summary, NIMBY was very helpful, knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I have no problem recommending them to anyone who has a raccoon problem.
