Dear Sir/Madam:

Hi, I have bought a bed from the Furniture Giants on Kennedy, North of Lawrence in Toronto. They delivered the bed after a delay of 5 days, and it was defective. I took my complaint to the store and showed them the pictures of the defective product, and the sales person verified that it was a manufacturing defect and signed at the back of the invoice that it will be replaced in one week. It is more than a month now and each time I go there and talk to them I hear a new story. They are not willing to exchange the product and had scheduled a couple of times but never happened. Last time that I went through a serious discussion with them, they signed a paper stating that they will replace it by Thursday or they will give me full refund plus 25% for compensation. Later on, however, they called me and asked to pick up the defective product on Tuesday and provide a new one on Thursday. I can not trust them because they keep changing their words, they have issued an invoice which belongs to another branch (which is closed), and they asked for cash. What can I do? The product cost $500 and it is thus not worth hiring a lawyer or going to court. The bed is in very bad condition, it is made of cracked wood with cracked varnish.

Bedroom Set

As another girl posted here, I had the problem of the set I bought not fitting into my space. I was letting them know we were confronted with a rather small bedroom and was assured that all sets are standard and persuaded to buy the set at the front of the store. Upon delivery the men that came demanded to be tipped as they had to bring the furniture up the stairs and a whole circus took place in front of my residence. The delivery guys were carelessly handling our furniture dropping the pieces till we tipped them.

We only opened the bed pieces (matress was still wrapped) before we realized the set would be way too big to fit. Numerous trips to the store; they were going to charge us a 25% restocking fee. Then we tried to settle on a different set and although that set was cheaper to begin with we were now in a situation were they wanted $150 more to sell it to us plus a $ 100 dollar charge for delivery. Whatever we wanted to buy there was never going to be a difference refunded even if the item was less and they kept on adding a delivery charge on top.
We saw people fighting with the owners on every ocassion we were there. They are rude amd mistreat this older employee, as well.

THESE PEOPLE ARE VERY DISHONEST. ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY THEY WILL NEVER WANT TO GIVE YOU A PENNY BACK EVEN IF THEY HAVE NOTHING TO SELL THAT WOULD FIT YOUR HOME.

SOFA PURCHASE

I PURCHASED A SET OF SOFAS FROM THIS COMPANY BACK IN MAY AND PRIOR TO PURCHASING, I WANTED TO MAKE SURE MY BASEMENT APARTMENT ENTRANCE DIMENSIONS WOULD ACCOMODATE THE SIZE OF THESE SOFAS, HOWEVER, WAS ASSURED BY THEM THAT THIS SOFA SIZE FITS THE MAJORITY OF BASEMENT APARTMENTS WITH NO PROBLEMS AT ALL, SO I TOOK THEIR WORD FOR IT... WELL, WERE THEY WRONG AND I WAS DISAPPOINTED IN MYSELF FOR BELIEVING THEM. THEY NEVER TOOK ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ERROR AND AFTER THE SOFAS DID NOT FIT, I WOULD HAVE GLADLY ACCEPTED A REFUND, MORE FOR THE FACT OF NOT HAVING TO DEAL WITH THEM ANYMORE, BUT THEY WOULD ONLY REFUND LESS A 45% RESTOCKING FEE WHICH I FOUND TO BE UNACCEPTABLE SINCE OTHER REPUTABLE COMPANIES WOULD TAKE A LESS 25% TO 30% RESTOCKING FEE. AFTER NUMEROUS CALLS FROM MY END NOT THERES, THEY OFFERED ME ANOTHER SELECTION IN SOFAS SINCE THERE WAS NO OTHER SOLUTION TO THIS TERRIBLE SITUATION. NOW BEING IN SEPTEMBER, I FINALLY RECEIVED ANOTHER SET OF SOFAS, MIND YOU AFTER MANY DELIVERY CANCELLATIONS FROM THEIR END, THE SOFAS FIT (BECAUSE THE DIMENSIONS WERE DOUBLE CHECKED AGAIN FROM MY END), UNFORTUNATELY THOUGH, THEY WANTED ME TO PAY FOR ANOTHER DELIVERY CHARGE THAT THERE WAS NO MENTION OF ME HAVING TO PAY AT THE TIME OF RE-ORDERING ANOTHER STYLE OF SOFAS.
AT THE END OF IT ALL, BEING A PERSON LIVING WITH A DISABILITY GOT VERY SICK OVER THIS SITUATION.

THIS COMPANY TRULY LACKED CUSTOMER SERVICE ETIQUETTE, HONESTY AND QUITE TRULY I FEEL THIS COMPANY IS JUST A DECOY FOR OTHER UNMENTIONABLE ACTIVITIES.

MY ONLY ADVICE IS TO STAY CLEAR OF THIS PARTICULAR COMPANY.

Sofa set

Bought sofa set from Bobby-best price, asked on the same set in other stores-nobody could even touch. Next day delivery, had some hick ups , because product was defective, but was replaced right away. Highly recommend

Bed headboard/footboard and mattress/box spring

This was by far THE WORST customer service experience I've EVER had. Let's start by saying while we were in store looking, a fight broke out between sales and an angry returning customer. We bought a Queen bed frame and mattress/box spring. We had the typical delays in delivery dates and when the items were delivered of course the bed frame was missing pieces and we told the delivery folks on the spot. This was when the hell really began. Apparently you can no longer deal with the actual store once you've purchased an item, you are forwarded to their "customer service" department. I have never dealt with more ignorant and rude people in all my life. I spent days calling them asking when we were going to get our correct pieces. I was passed on from person to person getting no where. I asked for my money back, told them they could keep what they still had and to come and pick up the rest - we didn't want it. Well, they wouldn't have any of that. The agents so did not want to deal with me that when I called and finally said I wanted to speak with a manager the girl lied and said she was the manager. So I complain to her and then the actual manager takes the call and I say I thought I was speaking to the manager before - he proceeds to call me a liar and says that I'm pushy and he wonders how my husband even puts up with me...pardon? Well, let's say he bowed down when said husband called and gave him a piece of him mind for speaking to me that way. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!

Furniture

I too wish I had read the reviews of Furniture Giants before I went there. We ordered a dining room table and were told it would take 6 to 8 weeks to arrive. It took over 4 months! Each time we followed-up, we were promised delivery date after delivery date that never happended. Also, I paid approx. $200 for scotchguard protection on the chairs. The manufacturer informed me that they do not treat the fabric some stores offer to treat the fabric themselves. When I received the boxes, the manufacturer's packaging had not been disturbed so I know that the fabric was not treated by Furniture Giants. Furniture Giants also requires you to pay the balance owing before delivery and the delivery men tell you that if you do not open the packaging and discover any damage before they leave, you cannot claim it later (which is impossible to do - it took us over an hour to unpack the table and eight chairs). We had a terrible, frustrating experience. I would not recommend Furniture Giants to anyone.

Bed Room Set, Sofa only

Best Price...Delivery Never on Time.
Quality good....Notonly that My whole family bought furniture everyone is happy.
Bobby,Sam treat us the best.
All the loacation have a latest design and no where in kennedy have such prices.
Thanks to furniture giants for there good support.

Dinining set and sofa set

I got most of my furniture from Bobby, I think i got really really good deal in terms of pricing, Bobby is a bit busy but he did what he said he will do for me and i am really happy about it

Queen bed with chest ++

This company is BS.. They said my stuff will be delivered by June 30th and today is July 6th still not here yet!!.. I call them everyday and request to get my money back but they reply saying that i will get my goods delivered by today.. So everytime i call they say it will be delivered by today and it been days afer days... They are just driving me crazy. I dont know who to turn to, to get my money back. If you you anyone who i can complain to and get my money back please let me know. NEVER DEAL WITH FURNITURE GIANTS.. thanks

Dining Set

The Manager, Bobby would not dicuss price right away and continually said "don't worry my price is so low it will shock you" Finally when he quoted his price it was extremely high. He said the product was built in Canada but it was built in Malaysia. He said he would have the 2 products ready in 2 days. They were not ready in 4 days and he did not deliver at all!! I asked him to give me $10 off the shipping charge as I felt he over charged us for the products and he got really mad at me but finally gave in. Ofcourse they never delivered the items. I felt forced to take his floor models which were badly damaged and did not fit together properly. I did not want to get in to a court case with him but I vowed I would let the public know this company may not make good on their promises. I would like to use much stronger words but Homestars will not allow it. My recommendation is to not buy anything from this company.
