When I decided to have the carpet removed from both bedrooms and a hallway I asked our Condo Manager who she would recommend. She had used Universal Hardwood herself and immediately recommended them to me and gave me their location. The rest of my place already had hardwood floors and I wanted to have the same wood installed as I already had. Even though it was a brand of hardwood flooring they didn't carry, that was no problem at all. They'd get it. They also emailed me information on baseboards and doorstops so I could choose what I wanted. And they made good suggestions on what would work best as a doorstop along the baseboard bottom. They were very friendly when I visited the showroom and promptly scheduled an estimate visit. I arranged for the installation while I was away for a few weeks in February and when I returned everything was done with excellent attention to detail and workmanship. I couldn't have been more pleased with the job they did and would recommend them to anyone.

Purchase of an old home requiring replacement and resanding/staining of existing hardwood. Andrew came out to the home several times during the renovation as we were making changes to ensure what we wanted to do was appropriate. Andrew was very patient with the numerous colour changes to the hardwood. I would definitely refer Valuewood for their exceptional service and quality of the product.

We were getting our original hardwood removed, to be replaced by brand new wood flooring, along with getting our extremely rough stairs refinished (just the treads).

Workers always showed up promptly and were courteous and clean. They did a great job at refinishing the stairs which saved us heaps of money compared to if we would have had them rebuilt. Our house, being built in 1930 had no straight lines or right angles, but they did a great job making everything fit nicely, even in and around our radiators. Good job all around!

If you ever get the chance to meet Andrew and his wife, there is no way you would ever want to deal with another company. We were looking for our hardwood flooring for months before stumbling across Value Wood Floors while stopping to get coffee at Tim Horton's. They provided the best service, information, selection and price. I can't say enough about VWF! We love our Maple Vintage floor and the installation was PERFECT (and fast)!!! Do yourself a favour and visit VWF if you are looking for flooring!!

I just wanted to let you know how delighted we are with our hardwood floors.

We purchased a home about 4 years ago, and undertook a major renovation, part of which included installing jotoba hardwood floors throughout. We are so happy that we had the entire house done, the floors and stairs look superb, and the floors are aging well. Your installers were very professional and were very helpful and did a superb job. Many thx for the good advice we received from you about our possible options and on the great installation.

We love the look of the wood, and its aging well. We also like the cleanliness of the house. We have area rugs only, and it means that there are no worries about having too many allergens around for our six year old, and we keep up with the dogs dog hair more effectively.

Delighted we went with wood throughout the house and delighted with the job you folks did.

Universal Hardwood Floors installed Walnut flooring throughout our home 6 years ago. The Universal staff did an excellent job of advising on the floor and sourcing a large quantity of extra-wide Walnut hardwood. The installers were flexible and did an excellent job under sometimes challenging circumstances during the final stages of our new build. Upon completion the installers gave us information on how to maintain the floors and, after six years of wear, our floors are more beautiful than ever. The hardwood has added so much warmth to our home, it was an excellent investment. We were very pleased that we went with Universal - their price was fair and their workmanship was excellent. We would highly recommend Universal to anyone considering the installation of a hardwood floor.

Andrew and the guys were all friendly and helpful in the showroom as well as at the house. They found us an excellent match to what we have on the main floor at a very reasonable price. They arrived when they said they would and did a great job including the cleanup at the end. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who asked. In fact, I gave their card to my neighbour already. When we began renovating our main hallway we began looking at various options to put down in our entrance way. My wife always liked the look of cork but we wern't sure which manufacturer to go with or if it would stand up in a high traffic area.

We visited their showroom on a number of occasions, gathering information and asking questions, always found the staff to be friendly and helpful as well as patient as we tried to decide between many different options available. They had no problem letting us bring large square samples home to put down and compare colors. We finally made our decision and placed the order, floor was delivered to our home the next day for installation and it looks great. Very pleased with our purchase and the advice and recommendations that were provided to us.

Overall, top notch service, quality and selection, would recommend these guys to anyone!

This is the 6th time that we've dealt with this company. The quality of the material is outstanding as is the craftsmanship. The followup and customer service is also outstanding.
