The Universal team were excellent. Old oak floor completely removed neatly with minimal mess. Underfloor re-screwed. Railings removed. New darker Oak floor nailed and installed and have yet to find a flaw. Areas that formerly squeeked are now solid and silent. Job was done 4 months ago. Looks perfect.
The railing company Universal subcontracted to restain the steps and railing were also excellent. All work from start to finish was competed in one week.

Grace at Value was very helpful. She offered me a great price for hardwood, gave me a huge sample and worked with me during me reno. Overall, wonderful products and client service.

We had an excellent experience with Value Wood Floors/Universal Hardwood. We first met with Peter who was SO knowledgeable and pleasant - and patient! He helped us choose a product that would work best for our family and lifestyle. When we finally decided on which floor to go with, Andrew provide a detailed quote and was available by phone/email to answer all my (many) questions. The job was very tightly scheduled as we were putting new floors throughout our new house (which is a very old house) and it had to be finished in time for our move-in date. The crew worked long hours and actually finished earlier than expected. I have no hesitation in recommending this company.

We used Value Wood Floors a year ago to provide the hardwood for our main floor. We were so impressed with the service and knowledge that the company provided that we turned to them for both the product and the install when we recently redid our upstairs flooring. They did a great job, came in under budget and got the job done on time. We're very happy with the results. I have always hated my carpeted basement, so I decided to change it up a bit and get come hardwood or laminate. After looking through the selection, I chose a nice laminate since it was a lot cheaper. Very happy with the finished-look and their service. I'd just like to thank them, everyone loves going to the basement now, and I got so many compliments from friends and guests. Would definitely recommend to all!

i heard of value hardwood from a client that found me on homestars to install her hardwood which was purchased at value wood. the material was a joy to work with. it was a 3/4 engineer from vintage and it was absolutely beautiful. perfect milling and finish, i asked the client about the price and i was amazing surprised by it. she had got a deal and a half from them. story short, i decided to go by and have a look at their showroom, i met with peter and nicholas, they were extremly friendly and ever since i have been recommending cients non stop to them. Take it from someone that installs for living, these guys are honest, reliable and extremly friendly. thanks guy for making my clients happy and the material is always amazing to work with. cheers

We purchased our black walnut hardwood from Value Wood Floors based on the reviews I read on Homestars. Not only was the product we purchased gorgeous (our installer told me it was the most beautiful floor he has ever installed), but the customer service was excellent. Peter, the salesperson with whom we dealt, was knowledgeable and helpful. I will definitely return as we do more floors in the house.
