I thought the hot water tank looked a little dodgy when I bought the house, but it wasn't until I smelled a 'electric burning odour' that I got serious about replacing the tank. Removal of the electrical cover revealed the insulation burned off the wires leading to the electric heating element and the scorched insulation. A new tank was called for. DS Plumbing arrived on time, assessed the problem, proposed a larger tank that was proportional to our water needs (no more cold showers) and ordered a replacement.
An installation time was booked. When Craig was going to be 45 minutes late, Mary called and updated me on the revised starting time. Craig did a removal and replacement very professionally and efficiently (despite the homeowner's pestering plumbing questions).
On Craig's advice I signed up for PAWS program and knocked over $400 of the contract price.
The service warranty is unprecedented, and should be copied by other home service professionals (smoking, swearing, no shoes coverings, etc. and the service is free). Wow!
As a pet owner, the contribution to the Humane Society was 'icing on the cake'.
In Short: Very Satisfied. Will Recommend to family and friends. Will use DS again.

p.s. While Craig was great, I must say that dealing with Mary was exceptional. She took my problem description with professional flair, arranged the appointments, updated me on appointment time changes and dealt with my Air Miles claim. Every service business should have a Mary. :-)

I found the price to fix the toilet expensive as all that was required was a new floor flange. The ring that secures the drain to the sink had a piece that popped off and the worker, while trying to put it back together marked it up with his wrench. The facet now needs to be taken off and returned, if that is possible. The worker didn't seem to be to concerned that I now have to return the facet/drain or that he damaged the part. Based on the price and the fact that the worker marked up a new facet with his wrench, I wouldn't recommend this service and I won't be a return customer. Marc B was dispatched to my place to fix a leaky toilet. Unfortunately the issue wouldn't replicate while he was here, so he explained to me that because the toilet wasn't in use often, the rubber gasket probably dried up and lost its seal. The fix? Just make sure that the toilet is flushed once a week so that the rubber gasket remains expanded and doesn't dry up. Anyway, problem aborted and thank goodness I didn't have to spend extra $ on repairs. Thank you Marc B for your friendly, prompt, and professional service! Also, thank you Tara for promptly scheduling me in. :-)

Noticed a water stain creeping across my kitchen ceiling. Marc took the time to line up the leak with the plumbing upstairs and made a recommendation to check the seal around my toilet, rather than cut open the drywall. He was correct in his assumption.
