Westview Builders

This is a terrible builder. The experience is a nightmare. The management with this company has no moral. It took them a year to get the digging started and it will definitely take more than two years for them to finish, if ever. As others have already reviewed, there is no service and you have to be there all the time to find all the mistakes they make. They don’t fulfil what they promise. They don’t pay their trades (so you get liens sent to you from the city after you have the title). They likely have few people (trades) who are willing to work for them and as a result the quality of the work they complete is just terrible. If you tell them deficiencies that need to be addressed they just ignore them. It’s a waste of your time and life to be building with them.

Building with Westview was the worst experience of my life! Throughout our build there were huge delays, many of which were because they were not paying their trades people. We had several liens on our property as a result. The site sup did not check on the quality of work, requiring us to check on it constantly. Not sure what we were paying them to do?!?!?!?
In the end we moved in with many things outstanding and even though we have been in our home longer than one year, it is still not finished!
My advice, if you value your time, home, and money, do NOT build with Westivew. I only wish these reviews were available when we built. If you have the unfortunate luck of having started building with them already, what ever you do, do NOT move in until every last thing is complete!!!!

The F rating Westview Builders has right now with the BBB is pretty accurate in reflecting the customer service and support you will receive from this builder once you sign the dotted line.

The smaller your house is, the worse is the service and support you will receive. Demand a good service and don't settle for anything less than that.

The next time you build a new home, don't choose this builder. You will be better off looking elsewhere.

One bad review is already too many...follow the advice, and you will save yourself the headaches and stress that other homeowners have experienced with this builder.

Westview builders is the worst builder we have ever dealt with and this is the 5th new home we have built. They were 7 months late completing our home and didn't offer any sort of compensation or apologies other than "hey, delays happen." When we tried to find out why nothing was happening with our home they usually just ignored us. If they did respond it was with incorrect information or unrealistic timelines.

We tried complaining to the better business bureau but Westview ignored them as well.

They clearly do not care about customer satisfaction. We have now been in our home for almost a month and are still waiitng for them to complete everything. I tried emailing them to ask when we can expect things done and haven't heard anything back from them. Apparently 17 months wasn't enough time to get everything finished.

I would advise anyone considering this builder to stay away from them.
We actually registered the domain westviewbuilders.ca to set up a review of our experience. They are an absolutely terrible builder.

We build a brand new home in Calgary with WestView Builders and it was a real nightmare. In the end they were late for 3,5 month and some of the work is still not done even after 7 month after possession. Do not recommend this company to anyone.

After months of delays, most of our outdoor seasonal work is finally complete. If it were not for the support of our sales associate and technical service coordinator, we would not have been this far ahead, so we are very thankful to them for ensuring the work on our house gets done. These two individuals have provided us with exceptional customer service. This is why it is so disappointing that the Management at Westview Builders did not provide us with the same treatment. Our overall experience with Westview has been unpleasant and stressful. We are referring to the Management at Westview Builders – they have the money and power to make the decisions. They are the ones that caused us the stress and aggravation – the numerous delays, our unpleasant confrontation with their GM, lack of communication, and lack of response from the President when we tried to reach out and ask for information and assistance. We are disheartened to read from the reviews that people were getting “liens’ from their Westview homes. This is very serious, should not be trivialized and should not have happened. The reviews suggest Westview’s reputation suffered within the last year – so those of you who built prior, then you are the lucky ones. Whatever the issues Westview is facing today, the President of the company needs to address it. If he really cares, he would do whatever it takes to gain back his company’s reputation. Westview needs to realize they should do the right thing – listen to their customers, find a solution, fix the problems and send an apology to all those who felt wronged by the company. This is the most decent thing to do.

So far they have been helpful informaitve and prompt with warranty repairs. They were somewhat delayed (about a month and a half) but thats to be expected. The workmanship was of very good quality and we are happy with our new home. I would reccomend this builder to others!
