Westview Builders

This company built my new home in Calgary and was just OK. I was originally attracted to Westview due to the very unique style of homes that they build, and while I have no major complaints, there were things I expected from this builder that were lacking.

I was shocked that there was no washer & drier in my new home, especially given that all other appliances in the home were included in the cost. Also as far as after-sale support is concerned, I am still waiting on a lot of finishing touches for the home that were promised but at this time are not complete.

Westview builders built our new single family two story home in Calgary. Overall we are satisfied with the home, we weren't overly involved in the building process, as it was almost complete when we took possession. That said I do like the workmanship.

The possession and walk through of the home went well, there were no issues at the time, they are a little slow to complete outstanding work at the moment, but otherwise Westview is okay.

We fell in love with the show home and now we have been living in a nightmare. I don't know if we will ever have our "dream home". There is so much work left to do. All I want to do is cry!

We had a fantastic experience building with Westview, from dealing with the sales agent, picking all of our specifications to the handling of any deficeincies after we had moved in (there were only ever 2!) The site supervisor was great, friendly and helpful and we genuinely felt they had put everything into building our house "one brick at a time!"
This is a house and development that we are extremely happy to raise our children in and there isn't one thing about the house we would change if we were to do it all over again (we have lived in it for 3 years now).
Out of all the show homes we look round in Cochrane at the time Westview was by far the best quality home builder.
We have always and still do recommend Westview to friends considering moving into Jumping Pound Ridge.

The initial sales process with Westview was great and then things went downhill from there. There was weeks and weeks of delays on construction of our house with never a reasonable answer as to why. They seemed to rush to get us in by our possession date when at times absolutely nothing was being done on our house for sometimes several weeks. When we did take possession there was a definete lacking of attention to detail. The walk through was also done with the company general manager which was very strange. He was mostly interested in just having us sign off on our walk through, brushing off most of our concerns as being no big deal. 6 mths later there is still deficencies that have not been repaired or have been done poorly. Not to mention items that are still to be completed from our 45 day warranty appointemt. Its been 6 mths and we still don't have our stained front door after they destroyed the first one and then put it on the house. They waited till late fall to do our grade when they had all summer. It didn't pass and they never bothered to have the company come back. Now were being told it won't be down till this summer. It is a constant struggle to get this company to complete anything. They always have an excuse or blame it on there trades. The reason you have a house built by a builder is so that you don't have to deal with trades, so I fail to see how they feel that is our prolem. If you don't constantly email, text or phone them its like you don't exsist anymore. This has been the absolute worst customer service experience my wife and I have ever had and we would definetely not build with Westview again or in good conscience recommend them to our friends and family.

It is common for people to first want to comment on a negative experience, however for some reason harder for them to comment when an experience has been positive. In doing so you dont get an accurate representation of the company. Positive, fulfilling, unique, and just an overall great building process is what we found building with Westview. We built in a small town (High River) south of the city where 75% of the constructed homes were Westview homes on Highwood Lake. We chose Westview after speaking with individuals there who had previously built and had recommended them based on the success they found on the overall process. I have to say they didn't let us down.
It started by being driven by superior service and knowledge to help us configure a design that worked for our family by assessing our needs.During the design stage they again were informative and allowed us to configure exactly what we envisioned. When any errors came about or issues that needed to be adressed they were interested in the concerns and made it a priority to resolve them effectively and efficiently. In the end we had a professional design with attention to detail shown all over the house. Would definitely recommend this builder.

We have been MORE than underwhelmed by the complete lack of thought for true functionality in the floor plans and the majority of the homes that we have seen are SERIOUSLY lacking in attention to detail and quality of finishings from most builders. What started out to be a fun afternoon on a fact finding mission quickly became a tour in shock and awe at what passes for workmanship. THEN WE CAME INTO THE WESTVIEW SHOWHOME IN EVANSTON!! What a wonderful surprise to see:
1) truly wonderful and sincere and warm salespeople.
2) a warm and inviting atmosphere while entering the showhome.
3) attention to detail in the finishings AND floor plan.
4) a properly designed and engineered basement.
When we walked through the home, you can quickly see that the builder did what they could with the tiny lot that was given to them for their showhome. Just in case anyone walking through the home couldn't see the little "adjustments" that had to be made, the wonderful salespeople were open and honest to describe that Westview can very easily adapt, change and configure any floor plan that WOULD work for the potential homeowners. They made sure that no one would just judge quietly and walk away without the proper knowledge of what the builder can offer a customer. When we walked into the basement, the quality quickly hits you. You can tell from the floor temperature, sound quality and attention to detail that this home was NOT thrown together for a quick sale. This home was built to last.

This was our very first visit to a Westview home, but we will be looking for more homes to look at in the future. Please pass along our most sincere praise to your sales team, Jennifer Newman and her associate Anna Lee, located in Evanston! They do you VERY PROUD!!!
