Umbrella did two jobs at our house. They waterproofed sections of two foundation walls of my basement and changed old water service from the curb to the house. I have had these jobs done on two separate occasions and each one was conducted in professional manner and delivered as discussed on the quote. I could not recommend them more as a company. They were very good. I did extensive research when I needed waterproofing services on almost every waterproofing company in Toronto. I asked friends, read online reviews and called numerous companies. Umbrella knocked it out of the park when they arrived to do the site visit because they did not try to sell the work I did not need, the price was fair and the tech showed the great deal of knowledge.

Vlad was the 4th contractor to come out but the first that even looked at the sump pump which, he quickly discovered, was the source of the problem. Every other company quoted far higher prices to waterproof my basement. They wanted to tear up my driveway and the perimeter of the house to install weeping tiles. Only Vlad noticed that there was no moisture coming from the top of the walls. I could have spent a fortune and still had a leaking sump pump. I have waited until we'd experienced heavy rains to leave feedback and there has been no problem whatsoever. The woman who made the appointments was very accommodating and friendly which I really appreciated. My calls were promptly returned and the gentleman who did the work was very knowledgeable and professional. The work was completed in time that was quoted and at the cost quoted.

We were in the midst of mini renovation of the basement space. Our contractor told us that there was some water damage on the west foundation wall when he removed old drywall. The damage looked substantial and seemed ongoing. We have been having issues with smelling whiffs of strange odour and some paint peeling off in the corner for quite some time now. We called several contractors immediately. Umbrella was the fastest to respond to our call and Lad provided us with a very detailed moisture test completely free of charge. This space is in the busiest core of the city and we needed the work started right away to avoid delaying the rest of the reno. Umbrellas staff started the next day and finished it in two and a half days. At first we thought the work would be a mess but at the end they put the earth back, laid fresh layer of gravel on top and left the space spic and span. They did an impressive work in a very tight space outside. In spring they will be back to pour fresh concrete where it had to come off.

Called Umbrella with flooding basement problem in my Toronto house where tenants live. It was urgent, tenants unhappy and I could not be there - work and currently reside in another province. Got them to come out the next morning! Whew! The office lady was easy to communicate with and kept me updated at all times by email – after all I could not be there. Their tech Vladimir gave me options and provided detailed treatment process and costs before the work started. He explained the problem, detailed how they’d fix it, and they did a nice job. Pictures of the work were emailed to me – have not even thought of asking for those – Here is what I call professional. Thank you, will recommend.

Vlad and his crew did a great job in waterproofing the basement on my mom's home. We had water coming in to the cold room for years. After the waterproofing there was a great improvement. There was still some water coming in which made me nervous that the waterproofing didn't work however after further investigation the root cause was identified and the problem was resolved by fixing the mortar joints in the wall. Now the basement is waterproofed. In hind sight it may have been easier to work with one firm to do both jobs however Vlad's estimate came in a lot lower than the other contractors I got quotes from and he did do a good job. I would recommend him to others who have waterproofing issues.

Vlad accurately diagnosed the problem and his team arrived on time, efficiently fixed the problem and left the property clean and tidy. There were no surprises and we could not have asked for better service. In addition to the professional way in which the problem was solved everyone at Umbrella was a pleasure to deal with from Vlad and the young lady who arranged the appointments to the gentlemen who dug out our foundation and repaired the crack. When we moved into a new unit and shortly realized that there was water seepage in several areas during heavy rains we called this contractor because they were highly recommended by our relator. They were able to book the job on a short notice which was a big relief for us. I must mention when they came out for an estimate I realized I have seen their truck all around the city and I had seen them doing another project on neighbouring plaza. The gentleman who did the estimate was very professional and I was impressed by his knowledge. They fixed the area where the leaks were coming from – that was one of the corners where the floor was sloping and the water was pooling in there. The job took 3 days with excavation, waterproofing, drying, and clean up all included, and they sealed it beautifully as we have not had a drop of water in there ever since. I must add the repair costs were well within our budget, which we were pleased with. I was very grateful that the guys were very accommodating and were able to finish the job before we opened. They also were accommodating and so nice despite all the hassle that we created with moving in all of our merchandise and office furniture, and having other contractors working on painting and electrical. I would gladly recommend them

We interviewed several contractors all of whom we found through this website, but our choice for the job was Umbrella waterproofing. Vlad instilled confidence in us by being professional during the initial waterproofing estimate; he was well-equipped with a special moisture tool, very knowledgeable and provided me with a logical answer to every single of my questions, and believe me I had a lot of questions. We were sold immediately but we still took time to analyze each quote provided. When we called them to schedule the job they made sure we got the dates we wanted. The job was done in timely manner, and our basement has not leaked since. This was over a year ago. Since then we have used Umbrella for another two rental houses, where they did spot repair (waterproofing on one wall) and extending hot cold water lines in the basement of another house. Each time they were very tidy and careful of our homes, their prices were honest and within our budget, and we were happy with the final results. I want to add that every time one of their guys came to do work whether it was plumbing or waterproofing they always were so accommodating and very respectful of our house – always cleaned after they were day for the day and kept any noise to a minimum.
