New line for over-the-stove microwave and fixture changes

Cody and Dave came by to run a new electrical line for an over-the-stove microwave, install 9 fixtures, install an arc protector and a surge protector. Unfortunately, my electrical panel is on the opposite side of the house as my kitchen which made their life more interesting.

Cody and Dave professionally installed everything and ensured everything was up to code and safe.

Thank you Marcus. A new dedicated circuit for an OTR (over the range) microwave is a code requirement. It cannot share a circuit with any other items. Sometimes there is a challenge installing new electrical lines in a finished home, but we always will find a solution. We appreciate your comments on Homestars and look forward to serving you again.

Enrico the best

Enrico and his coworker showed up and completed a fixture fix up in the garage which was previously not installed to code and a fire hazard waiting to happen. They had to cut through brick to get it done and did such a neat job you couldn't tell it wasn't original.

They also removed a stray electrical wire that went up to the second floor and just hung out in the open (non live wire). Although a brand new hardwood floor was installed over this wire, Enrico and his team somehow removed the wire nearly without any cuts in the floor.

They also changed a door bell for me, fixed a light switch and we're just a pleasure to deal with in general. They were extremely patient when we kept delaying the date of work due to family emergency, and best of all, they showed up free of charge when I thought there was an issue with the work they had done(buzzing from another room turned out to be unrelated but they fixed it anyway).

Captain Electric says they're the best, be skeptical, and then surprised and humbled after you see their workmanship. Diane is also great in setting everything up.

Basement, dining room, stairwell

Zac and Dan came to our home to fix some builder errors and to add some electrical for us. They were very professional and did an amazing job. We are very happy with all of their work. The price was fair and we feel like we got amazing value for our dollar. If we need any more electrical work done we will definitely be calling Captain Electric again. They were very respectful of our home and cleaned up after themselves. Thanks! Shaun A from bowmanville

New Panel, Aluminum wiring, new circuits

I called Captain Electric based upon the home star reviews and I needed work completed between the time I closed on a new house and moved in. They were able to schedule the work when I needed them and the work done by Kevin, Dan, Cody, Ran and Zac was exceptional and I am completely satisfied. I would recommend Captain Electric to anyone.

Mast/Panel replacement and Basement Rewiring

We called Captain Electric based upon the home star reviews. We were not disappointed. While the consult visit is not free, they make excellent suggestions and stuck to the price quoted.

The work was prompt and timely. Dan, Cody, Ryan and Zach are all utmost professionals who worked tirelessly all throughout the day.

The office is also fantastic in arranging permits, dispatch and responding to my queries in a timely manner.

The work that they completed went above and beyond what was required.

Another thing that impressed me the most about Captain Electric was the clean-up. They left the place immaculate.

Captain Electric is not the cheapest, but they offer me and my family peace of mind. Thanks.

Electricity Repair

Had several issues with our electrical circuits not working but breakers not tripping. I called Captain Electric and got a same day appointment. They showed up on time and were very courteous and professional, explaining the different costs for call-out, diagnostics and repairs up front before proceeding with any work.
They duly identified and rectified the problems, as well as finding another fault I didn't know was a potential serious fire risk.
They are fully licensed and insured, and have a 100% guarantee to their work should there be any problem.
Should I ever have need for an electrician again I shall certainly use this company.

Thank you Alison. We were happy to be able to solve the electrical problems you were having. It is very important that our clients understand the procedure to solving an electrical problem. You mentioned ...the "call-out" cost, the "diagnosis", and "the repair" (or repair options). ***Making your home safe is our prime concern. Identifying problems and eliminating them is what we do. We look forward to seeing you again, whether to solve any problem, or to add new lighting or other electrical upgrades to your home. Thank you Alison for choosing Captain Electric. ..... bw

Outdoor light repair

Keith and Cody did a great job diagnosing and fixing the problem of my outdoor potlights not turning on.
Additionally, they were on time, courteous and cleaned up any mess.
From start to finish took the job took approx 2 hours. Afterwards Cody explained other possible issues with my electrical panel and other safety improvements. Overall the service was excellent and I would definitely recommend their business.

Thank you Iggy. We appreciate your commenting on our being on-time, courteous and cleaning up afterwards. ***Being on-time is very important. No one likes waiting around all-day for someone to show up. We schedule appointments within a 2-hour arrival time slot. A 20 minute call-ahead lets our clients know exactly when they can expect our electrician. ***Being "courteous" is equally important. We appreciate that our clients chose Captain Electric (they didn't have to, they could have called someone else). ***As for "cleaning up" ... that is our final impression that we leave with our client. If we performed our job well, but did not clean up afterwards, we probably would not be invited back. It all stems from respect for your our client and their home. We are proud of our team at Captain Electric, the care they show our clients, and all of us really do appreciate your comments. We look forward to seeing you again. ..... bw

200 Amp upgrade

Required a new 200 amp service upgrade from old 100 amp fuse panel (some aluminum some copper). Decided to go with Captain Electric based on many great reviews and they have also done work in our neighbourhood. Kevin and his team were great, did an excellent professional install. Also went with whole house surge protection. A bit pricey however well worth the service. Highly recommend.

Thank you Frank, for posting your review. ***Upgrading an Electrical Service from fuses to a "modern" circuit breaker panel is always a wise choice. Increasing the service size to 200 Amp is also a very good idea, especially when thinking of future additions, such as an in-law suite, rental apartment, or Electric Vehicle Charging Station. We are very happy to have been of service for you, and look forward to seeing you again in the future for any additional electrical work you may need. ... bw

ESA certificate and pendants

We first hired Captain Electric when our insurance company asked for an ESA certificate. Enrico came to our house and fixed all the various problems and we were given our certificate without any issue. It was such a smooth experience that we contacted the company again when we needed to have new pendants and a pot light put in. Both times, the service was very timely and professional. The office staff is also very courteous and helpful. This is why we have recommended this company to family and why we will use them again.

Thank you Myriam. *** Insurance companies are aware that older homes often have some electrical problems. They are looking for a "clean bill of health." Having your home inspected by a qualified ECRA licensed Electrical Contractor is a first step to making your home safe. Once any problems are identified, they can then be corrected. A permit issued by the ESA, and an inspection gives the homeowner "peace of mind" and will satisfy the insurance company that there are no serious risks to insuring the property. We provide the insurance company with a letter (stating the work that was completed), and a copy of the Certificate of inspection from the ESA. Thank you for taking the time to review our company, and we look forward to helping you, your family and friends when needed. ... bw
