I am happy to be updating my earlier review of this first experience with Richcraft during a pandemic. Everyone we have dealt with to date has been super polite and professional however, as a consumer, a new home purchase is very significant and emotional on many levels. For me, at my stage of life, this will be my dream home, my forever home. I am providing this feedback in hopes of signalling certain areas for improvement for the initial stage.
We signed our Agt in Sep 2020 for a Dec 2021 possession of detached home. Via email we submitted questions for structural requests; -*more info for clients would be beneficial on types of requests that could/should be made here as well as the items submitted and the justification of each outcome. *Equally important is to provide firm deadlines for clients for each stage so there are no surprises.
Our Issue was when we switched an initial request that was understood as approved for an upgrade to the exterior to a different material and were told it couldn’t be done ‘now’. Was the original request missed? *Our decision to commit to purchase this home was made after confirming that this would be an available option. Almost 5 months in, we are told it wouldn’t be possible and that no further requests could be made (in consideration of numerous factors: staffing, backlog etc.). With this news, we felt pressured to sign off on our existing requests and as the home’s exterior is very important to us , we were very unhappy. Where a call to their Head Office did not provide us with our request being accepted, it did however, provide us with more detail on why it could not be accepted. (It is a new model and exterior upgrade options hadn’t been planned for as of yet.) Although this is not an ideal situation, we are looking forward to the rest of our experience with Richcraft in making this home ours.
