Home Appliance Repair is not who they say they are. I called and was on hold for 30 mins. While on hold a recording told me I was the second caller in cue. Then 3 mins later I was the next caller in cue. I waited 25 mins as the next caller....!!! I couldn't believe it. When the operator answered in said "busy day?" (I should have ran right there, because if the first contact is bad....) I got nothing from her, but "can I help you". I booked the appointment anyway and was told a standard rate of 110.00 for the trip would apply and that amount would be applied to the service if I had the repair done. The tech called before he came and we chat about my freezer problem, which was great. He shows up on time and seems nice. Looked at the appliance for 9 seconds, then replaces the front control panel (pops in and out with your fingers) and give me a bill for 345.00.

What I'm pissed about is the fact I wasn't told about the full cost of the repair and they charge me the full "Blue Book" charge. The Blue Book is something these repair guys use to determine a rate for repairs. In no way was the blue book value for my freezer 245.00 to re &re. As a customer, I don't care about blue book values. I care about the value I received!

I called the office and the girl said "is it fixed?" I said yes, she replied "isn't that why you called us?" I replied "yes, but you need to be fair about it".

Anyway, any good company would have trained there people in conflict resolution. The operated didn't care about the time I spent waiting on hold, she didn't care about the cost of my repair, nor did she care when I said I was going to write a bad review. Not once did she think about involving a manager or to escalate the issue.

At the end of the day I would never use Home Appliance Repair Inc. (web site: www.hargta.com) for appliance service again, I will tell everyone not you use them as well. For the simple fact I was mis lead and taken advantage of.

My 3.5 year Electrolux dishwasher started leaking water on the wash cycle. Called Electrolux and they suggest 3 Appliance repair service centers. Considering that it is a high end appliance, I did some research on the net for reviews on these service centres and called all the 3 service centers. I felt comfortable with Home Appliance Repair Inc. so I finally scheduled a diagnostic service for which I paid $150. On diagnosis the technician who was pleasant advised that the repair would be covered under the Electrolux lifetime warranty.

Home Appliance Repair Inc. submitted a claim the following day with Electrolux for warranty approval. In the meantime, on a regular basis Baljit from Parts would update me on the progress. It took Electroux 3 weeks to approve the repair and now we would have to wait for 3 weeks for parts.

The parts arrived before schedule and Home Appliance Repair Inc. called and scheduled the final repair.

The repair was done to my satisfaction and Joanne from Finance was pleasant to refund the $150 I paid for the diagnostic.

My experience with Home Appliance Repair Inc. was pleasant and will suggest that you be patient as it took my repair job 2 months and imagine how much of agony I had to go thru with a chirpy wife grumbling about the dishwasher every evening !! God save me !!

Do not waste your time with this company!!!! They are very unorganized and unprofessional. To get a hold of Murve the manager he is never in the office and they always tell me he is on the road. No one can make an executive decision to make the customer happy. To fix my fridge it almost took 2 months!! Waste of time!
My Samsung fridge of 2.5 years old started to leak water and the shelf cracked. I called Samsung and because it was over 2 years old it was not covered. They referred me to Home Appliance and they came and gave me a quote. I called Samsung and Samsung agreed to pay for the part that is causing the water to leak but not the shelf that is cracked and I had to pay for labour. I called Home Appliance to book an appointment to repair all the broken parts. When the technician came to fix the fridge he only came with the parts Samsung paid for. They still charged me for the labour of all the parts. The technician told me that I will not have to pay for labour at the next visit because I already paid for it. When I called to book an appointment and order the remaining parts the woman in the parts department told me that I will have to pay for labour again!! After calling numerous times and finally talking to the manager Murve he realized that I did pay for labour on all the parts. I also advised Murve that the technician did not put my fridge back together properly and the clips that hold the shelves to the back of the fridge were not lined up properly. When I put the shelves back they were all on a 45 degree angle and I could not place all my food in the fridge because it would slide off. When I called them and told them about this they didn’t care and I had to wait 3 weeks for someone to come and fix it along with the other parts!!!! Because of this another drawer cracked because the shelves above it were not placed properly.
Please do not give this company your money. They will make you wait on the phone for hours and no one can answer any questions. This all could of been avoided if the person who I spoke to ordered all the parts in the first place!!!!!

I was VERY wary of Home Appliance Repair and appliance repair shops in general because of the reviews posted online. But I had to pick one to check out our stove which emanated a noticeable natural gas smell when we used the oven.

So, when the entire job ended up costing $500 including parts and labour, I was not surprised nor shocked as I knew what I was getting into. And a note, if you go to their website, you can sign up for a $20 coupon.

The reason for a less than perfect rating is that the first technician wasn't the most pleasant or knowledgeable. He didn't seem to have a real joy in his work. But he knew enough to diagnose the issue I called for. When I pointed out another issue, I forgot to mention on the call, he was stumped but he knew enough to call a senior technician who was able to quickly diagnose and repair.

Would I use again? Absolutely without any qualms.

I called Home Appliance Repair to come and service my fridge. The service man showed up on the day he said but he was to send me a quote for the work and come back. I never heard from the company again. The deal is that you pay for the call but its deducted from the repair. Funny, if you cant get the repair how do you get your money back?

I am very happy with the service provided. Scott was punctual and fast. He fixed my dispenser properly and fast and gave me good information about my air and water filter replacement. He also was clean and wore shoe cover. At the end, he set my stove timer as well since my electricity went off. Thank you Scott

The repair man showed up with replacement mother board for stove. Told me it would be $547.00 to fix my stove. New board was 199.00. Plus 150.00 for service call. He did not even open stove to inspect circuit board at all. I told him no not worth it, I will get new stove. Paid him $150.00 for showing up, as that was all he did. He was here not even 5 mins. Basically, just wrote the 150.00 bill for service. What a farce! Did not even look at stove! Very Unhappy with this service!

My dishwasher was not draining water after each cycle. I used to scoop up litres of water from the bottom of the dishwasher using a cup every night after running the machine. I have an extended warranty and called Home Appliance Repair Inc. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the receptionist and the technician, Desmond. I got a service appointment right away at at time during the evening when I was home from work. Desmond phoned me in the morning to confirm the time and arrived on time. He was friendly, courteous and efficient. He fixed the problem quickly, cleaned up and told me how to maintain the dishwasher monthly to prevent future problems. I am so happy my dishwasher is working properly again. No more dirty water left at the bottom of a cycle. I highly recommend Desmond and Home Appliance Repair Inc.

Top notch service from technician with RIDICULOUS pricing. TRIPLE charged us for part and OVER charged us for labour. NEVER using them again. Do not call unless it's an emergency, way over priced.

Service representative, Desmond, arrived on time and was able to explain the cause of the problem and fix it without fuss and in a timely manner. Assuming the problem will not reoccur anytime soon, I was happy with the service.
