Tom Trucker

Last year I used Tom Trucker on 3 seperate occassions. Nathan and Franco were amazing every single time and moved quite quickly and efficiently. I had them the first time and I was so happy with the move that I requested them both other times. I had special instructions every time on how my furniture was to be handled and they listened to my wishes. Every time the day before the move, Anton from their office called me to confirm my appointment and I laughed because he had beat me to it. I appreciated the call every time. I think that my reason for continuously using Tom Trucker was that Anton made me feel safe and at ease every time I spoke to him. In the past I had bad experiences with moving companies when they came up with hidden fees at the last minute and held my stuff hostage unless I paid the amount they demanded. I was relieved when Anton told me there were no hidden costs and even more relieved when my stuff was moved from one place to another without any issues. Three for three! I would definitely recommend them to anyone. Anton's professionalism alone sets this moving company from the rest.

First, no show when I booked our move for December 2. Because they were apologetic about a truck breaking down, we rebooked for the following day. Company arrived on time. Moved everything in 2 hours. Price was more than we agreed upon but they were very quick, so I paid and asked for receipt. They agreed that they would mail one. Over a month later and a phone call to remind them, including to look for items, I still have not receieved a receipt or a call back as requested. Nor did they get back to me about missing items. Left a voice mail message but still have not heard back. I am realizing quite a few important items are missing, including a tear in my couch. I gave them a decent tip because they were efficient and polite. I would only recommend this company if:
1. you supervise them closely handling your stuff
2. mark every box to ensure nothing is missing.
3. request a receipt beforehand.
4. move precious items on your own.
I am disappointed because they were highly recommended and will never get my stuff back, which included gifts from loved ones.

Broken-damaged goods-late arrival was not good.
Poor communication- no communication NOT ON!
Poor time management.
Consideration to others situations- elevator booked between set time.

YOU SUCK!

I'm 67 and have moved frequently all my life--in 3 countries. Tom Trucker was recommended to me by several friends and I've already recommended them to others. This was the BEST MOVE EVER, EVER. First Anton phoned in advance to confirm time and place. Nathan & Charles showed up on time, paid close attention to my instructions, handled my stuff with care and they worked at a non-stop pace. This was a 2-stage move for me and I requested the same guys for the second stage. They are the only movers I've ever trusted to move my Buddhist altar.

Needed a move of a small quantity of furniture from an estate, all very high end. Needed precise timing to meet estate trustee who had to supervise the removal. Tom Trucker's men appeared almost to the minute, were very gentle and covered everything with protective padding or plastic, all included within the cost. I almost didn't believe them but they did as promised and it all turned out fine.

I use to rave about this company but after this last job I must say I am left with nothing good to say.
Communication was poor. Delay after delay had us setting back our move. There was no apology or explanation.
They tried to introduce another person to help without our approval and charge us for him! Cheeky and rude.
Items were broken on arrival and again no apology. Never again!

Two guys in a big truck showed up early and went right to it. Far walk to the elevator and about 60 back to the apt-no problem! Also kind to those of us helping them when we probably impeded them. Assembled our Ikea beds. They moved my less-than-organized mum and she said they were great. 85$ an hour, great value, would use again without a doubt.

I was very satisfied with my move from this company. I had signed up for a 3 person move at $110/hour. The day of two staff showed up right on time and immediately informed me that the third mover had called in sick, and that I would be charged the 2 mover rate of $85/hour.

The movers, Edwin and Mickey, were very friendly, courteous and efficient. They took care in protecting all of my furniture and worked as quickly as possible without damaging anything.

I have no complaints with my experience outside of the missing mover, which was beyond their control. I would recommend Tom Trucker to anyone who is moving within Toronto.

The movers were disorganized and took long breaks although I was paying on an hourly basis. After the fact, I realized the movers had damaged 2 of my items. When this was brought to their attention they accused me of damaging the items myself, which was completely absurd given that they had nominal value. I will never use this company and have warned others not to do so.

I booked a 6:30pm move from my one bedroom plus apartment to a large storage unit. I had actually booked it for the previous day but changed it about 48 hours beforehand without a problem due to the elevator booking at my condo. On the day of the move, someone from the company called me to see if I would move my appointment up to 3:00 since they had finished their morning job much earlier than expected. I was unable to change the time of my move due to the booking schedule of my condo elevator. They understood completely - I felt no undue pressure to move the time. Nate and Andrew showed up early and did not start their clock until the designated time. They were friendly and enthusiastic. They were well prepared (with special boxes for my hanging clothes) and organized, and were more than happy to move my boxes out in a particular order that I had planned beforehand. While they moved quickly, they still took the care to provide me with options on how to move my various larger pieces of furniture, and the time to do the job properly (shrink wrapping etc.). While on the one hand they were casual and easy going to deal with, they executed the move very professionally and efficiently. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.
