The Floor Shop

We are renovating our main floor of our house and I knew that I wanted the floor to be the focal point. I chose a herringbone pattern and I knew it needed an experienced installer to install the complex pattern. I had heard from a friend that their service was great when she did her floor. She was right. The Floor Shop (Leaside) installer was amazing! His attention to detail was like watching an artist at work. You would think he was installing the floor in his own home. Thank you so much for doing such a wonderful job. This floor has given my builder-box home beautiful character and warmth.

We just had our upstairs carpeting removed and replaced with a premium vinyl flooring. We'd previously had The Floor Shop (Mississauga) install new flooring on our main level, and were so pleased with the experience that they were our obvious choice this time around too. The whole experience was so positive, from the initial selection of flooring, to getting an estimate, to the final installation just a few weeks ago. Our consultant, Debbie, was amazing to work with and made the process so easy. The installers were prompt, professional, and pleasant, and the installation work is impeccable. We'll definitely return to them for our next flooring project!

From start to finish, the staff at The Floor Shop (Wicksteed Ave - Leaside location) were very knowledgeable, friendly and great to work with. From Susan who helped me & my husband pick the right flooring, to Peter who provided sound advice regarding area preparation & installation [even when we were just going to purchase the flooring and do the installation ourselves].
Once we decided to have The Floor Shop take care of the installation, Andrew very promptly was able to arrange a time for installation within a couple weeks.
The installers a fantastic job - they arrived promptly, completed the job in a reasonable time frame and left a clean work site.
Peter even follow up with us a few days later to ensure our satisfaction.
We would recommend The Floor Shop to others and will actually be using them again in the near future for a stairs install.

We wanted to replace the parquet floor in our 40 year old condo with an engineered hardwood floor.
On the basis of on line customer reviews, we went to the Floor Shop. The staff provided excellent advice regarding color, material and plank size for our space. We made our selection and placed our work order.
Two days later, we were advised that there was a supply issue with our original choice. However, the Floor Shop provided a solution, substituting a higher cost material at our original contract price.
The installation proceeded on schedule. The installers were prompt and professional, completing the job on time and leaving a clean work space. We had some minor cosmetic issues that were dealt with within 24 hours. Peter, the owner, came by to inspect the finished product and to ensure that we were satisfied with the installation....and yes, we are.
I am pleased to be able to recommend this company.

The entire experience from visting the showroom to completion of the installation of the new hardwood was excellent. Debbie did an outstanding job of handling all the details from sample selection to contracts to arranging times for installation. Thomas did a most professional job of the installation on time and at a reasonable price.

We were dreading this renovation project because of all the upheaval it would cause. I sought a few referrals from family and friend for someone who could coordinate the process from start to finish. None of the referrals were able to handle the work from start to finish.

After reading many reviews on Home Stars I decided to approach The Floor Shop in Mississauga because it is close to my home. All the different types of flooring and their uses were explained to me. I chose the hardwood flooring and colour that I liked and setup an appointment for a quote to replace all the hardwood flooring and stairways in our home. I know from previous renovation projects in our home there are sometimes unforeseen surprises that can arise when the work begins that can cause the quoted price to rise.

Debbie came to my home and I explained to her all the flooring and stairways that we wished replaced. Debbie was up front with me and said that based on the age of our house they could find a few different scenarios when they started to rip out the flooring. Debbie prepared a quote with a price range from best to worst scenario. In the end it turned out to be the best scenario. A month before the work was scheduled to start Debbie called to inform me that the manufacturer of the flooring was offering a rebate on all flooring purchased in a three week period. Debbie gave me the option of prepaying for the flooring and getting the rebate or not. I prepaid the flooring and received the flooring rebate before the work began.

The projected took two and a half weeks to complete. Every bit of the work was well coordinated. I always knew each day who would be coming to the house and the time they would arrive. Tamas and his crew did an amazing job removing the old hardwood and parquet flooring and installing the new flooring. The crew from Euro Perfect Stairways consulted with me to make changes on the go to make the stairways stronger and safer and this was greatly appreciated.

I can not say enough about the quality of the work done.

I have used the Floor Shop since 1995 for hardwood flooring, hardwood stairs and tile flooring. They have always done an excellent job and have now replaced all the floors/stairs in my home with the exception of two bedrooms which are carpeted. My most recent job was hardwood on the set of stairs going into the basement along with hardwood on the basement hallway. Their contractors/staff have always been punctual, knowledgeable, personable and are installing a quality product. The price is very competitive. I take great comfort in knowing that the Floor shop is there for any other flooring needs I may have in the future.

Just wanted to share that we had a very positive experience working with Larry at the Etobicoke location to select hardwood flooring for our new home. He was very patient to expalin the nuances of different species of wood, different brands and product lines. Fielded many questions by phone and was very consistent about following up to update us on the order status. Gained our full trust throughout the process with his professionalism and attention to detail, which we can't say for most of the other merchants we worked with. Pricing was very competitive as well.

Would definitely recommend and use in the future.

The quality of their work is first-class, with great attention to detail throughout. The installers listened to my various special requests, and made sure to execute accordingly. Wojtek and Pat were extremely well organized, methodical, and were a terrific team, working quickly and in a complementary, well-oiled manner. And they left the worksite tidy and clean both days. Highly recommended.
