Loc Tite Interlocking

We hired Loctite because of the low price and the number of jobs they did in the Thornhill Woods neighborhood. The base preparation for our driveway was inadequate as they failed to excavate to the recommended depth and the gravel base was not compacted according to industry standards. ( unfortunately I had to find out after the fact ) .

The driveway looked great the first year but then began to settle in multiple areas. Loctite came back and repaired some of the depressions but the following year the depressed areas reappeared.

The work on the backyard deck and side walkway is now complete and the final result looks good. I'm now looking forward to spending some quality time on the deck.

They were very professional from the begining to the end
Fatos start off with a very good drawing of the area and the workers finished the job in 3 days
they went out of there way in doing extras at no additional charge as the landscape need some tlc

Do not use this company as you will be disappointed. First, two weeks before the job started they dropped off blocks of pavers on my grass which totally killed it.

After they were done the job, I told the workers that there were some low spots where water will pool. I also noticed that they sloped a walkway towards my garage so all the water flows towards the house. They told me not to worry and it will be fine. Later that night I took a hose to the areas in question and water pooled and drained towards the house. Common sense and a basic understanding of gravity seemed to be lacking.

THe outline of the patio was not in accordance with the drawing on the contract. It was supposed to be kindney shaped with smooth rounded lines. Instead ot looks like a child's freehand drawing. I told them about this during the job and they said don't worry I will fix it.

I was also under the impression that I was to get the polymetric sand as I upgraded bricks in part to get the better sand. Instead they used beach sand and said that it does not say anything about the udgraded sand in my contract even though I spoke about it extensively with the salesman.

I called the salesman several times to complain and he tried to help but could not seem to get the guys to do anything other than fix the lower areas which they actually made worse.

I had several promises from the salesman and owner that they would take care of ALL of my porblems but they have not corrected the largest problem with is the outline of the patio.

One saturday on the workers called my house at 7:30 am and said he would come to fix the problems and did not bother to show up or call after waking everyone up. WHo calls people on a saturday at 7:30 am??

I have tried to reach the owner numerous times and his office said they only see him on Fridays and will not give me his contact info. I did speak to hime once but the problems have not yet been resolved. I have called his office about 3 times in the last week and he will not return my calls.

To make things wose during the job the workers used my backyard as a garbage dump leaving their lunch wrappers, pops and other garbage in my backyard. If Mike Holmes were dead he would be spinning in my grave at the thought of this.

I have given this company plenty of time to rectify these problems but they have not. In fairness the salesman did return my calls and tried to help so for that I am thankful but the workers and owner seem indifferent to customer service.

UPDATE: AFTER POSTING THIS REVIEW THE COMPANY CAME AND CORRECTED THE OUTLINE OF MY PATIO TO MY SATISFACTION. THANK YOU !!!

The only reason I give this company a 1.0 mark is because Foti , the sales man , is a nice guy. The overall mark they deserve is a BIG ZERO.

I signed a contract with LOCTITE on June 5, 2011 to do the interlocking in the front entrance of my house. I paid 10% from the total and Foti stated clearly on the agreement that work will start in 3-4 weeks with weather permitting.

I started calling on the first week of July (4 weeks after the signing) to check on the status. I talked both to Foti and Tanya from the of office and got the full list of excuse: (1) it was raining so we behind the schedule. (2) it was too hot so we behind the schedule. (3) I have no contact with the teams in the field so I can’t tell you when they’ll come. (4) I’m meeting the teams only on Friday’s and will get their schedule. (5) the owner had to leave for a few weeks for personal reasons so we behind schedule. (6) I’m just taking messages, I don’t know what the schedule is. (7) I understand you’re mad, let me check and get back to you (never called back). (8) I don’t know what Foti wrote on the paper but read behind the agreement, it says we have 90 days to start work.

All I asked is to get a date when they’ll come. I emphasized that I’m not mad (at least I wasn't in July), I just need to know when they plan to come so I can make my other plans accordingly. I said that I understand they might be behind their schedule and I’m willing to wait some more (well, at least I was in July) and all I’m asking is a date.

NOTHING helped. Today it is 10 weeks after signing the agreement and no work had started or start date was given.

I didn’t check yet my legal options but for sure this is the last time I’m dealing with such unprofessional company. A company that didn’t learn yet that BAD customer service will put them down the drain eventually.

I hope this bad review will save other innocent people from dealing with LOCTITE and losing money with them.

I'm updating my review to let you know that the work is now completed and I'm totally satisfied with the result.
The two guys that came were very professional, completed the job in two days with beautiful design. They were very organized and left the site clean and neat.
I've also met Greg the owner before the job started. He apologized for the hassle and I'm convinced of his sincerity.
Bottom line is that I'm happy with my new interlock and will recommend these guys to my friends.

in Oct. 2010 I signed a contract with Loctite. Foti was our salesman . I paid the 10% deposit as required......the work was to have been done late April of this year . April came and went with no word from company ....I called and left message and had to call back.Was given a cell # where I left a message with no response......after an e-mail sent to Company they arrived early June to dig my driveway.....still no one came to complete job....after more e-mails Greg called to say they would be dropping stones on the 17th of June.....we were going on holidays that weekend so I asked him to have it dripped the first week of July....I tried to call Greg several times but calls were never answered......finaly they droped brick 2 weeks ago.....they showed up without notice this past Wed and returned on Thursday to finish interlocking......I left to go for Appt and when I got back they were done...early afternoon ....2 guys here waiting to get in garage to get a pair of shorts.....when I checked the job it is not completed as per contract....I have to say the job looks very good so far ....the guys were very concerned about getting things done and they seemed to know their job.......when The drive was dug they didn't go far enough to one side.....needs at least a little under a foot to match up with front........they did not wash off the walkway or front step so I assumed they would be back.......haven't heard a word.......they left the back walkway incomeplete and the front step doesn't line up ......hopefully Greg will come check job before the paving begins so as to assure a proper job.....I had a conversation with him last fall and he promised at that time to overlook job ....I haven't seen him yet.....I too am taking him on his word.......I accept the fact that he responds personnally on here hence the reason I have written this review.......the communication with this company sucks so if your in a hurry don't hire them.....if you have lots of patience you'll likely get a good fob in the end....... your up Greg......!!!!!

Hi, finaly, I decided to make beautiful front of my house, flagstone on porch, interlocking steps, flower beds, pathway and border. I've shop around two weeks and got at least 20 estimates. Sale representative Foti gave me good price and he looks very professional, highlight for me couple nice ideas , but I had two more companies who gave me lower price and Loc-tite mach that price. They appear exactly after 3 weeks, it was said in ageement. Work was done less then week and when they finish I found, what steps was 5' long, I asked 6'. I just called Foti and same day guys was on site to fix it. They spent one more day and rebuilt steps for 6' and fix couple small things, what I highlight. They took out all gabage, clean and washed everything. All work was done just great 10++++++++. Special I'd like to say to Greg, Foti and Alejandro Thank you guys you are really proffesional, That was a pleasure to have a bussiness with you. I will update this review on next spring to check everything after winter.

I signed a contract with the sales person Scott, last week of June for interlocking my backyard patio and one side of the house plus retaining wall around a flower box. He told me that the interlocking job will take only three days from the day they start the work.

I gave him the design and all the details and measurements. We agreed on the price and I gave him 10% down payment cheque (which was cashed three days later). He said they'd start in two to three weeks but I asked him to call me a few days before they are scheduled to start the job and he agreed.

The crew showed up two weeks later (this is fine because he had already told me that) but I got no prior call! They called me when they were at the house saying that they are there! It's still fine, they started the work on Friday afternoon and they did a very good and fast job I might add to dig the backyard and put down the gravel and pack it. They took all the dirt and cleaned the driveway and the street, but left all the concrete slabs that they removed from the old patio on the lawn in backyard. The salbs have already ruined most of my lawn (sitting there for 11 days). Also they were supposed to dig out a tree stump thay is right under the interlocking area but never did because they didn't have proper tools!

I was hoping they'd come back the following Monday to clean up and continue the work since Scott told me three days work! but they were no show. I called the sales rep the next Monday afternoon to inform him about what happened but I kept getting his voice mail. After a few more calls and voice mails I finally called the main office number on Tuesday and talked to the receptionist . She told me that Scott does not work for them any longer!! I explained to her what happened and asked her to tell me when the crew is coming back to clean up and finish the job but she said that she wouldn't know and all she can do is to pass my concern to the owner and she can only do that every Friday! She has no way of contacting anyone during the week. I asked her to give me the owner's number but she refused because she has been instructed not to give anyones number to clients. So I waited till Friday passed and called her back again today (Tuesday July 19 2011), she said the samething again, she doesn't know when they are coming back but she passed my message to them!
I have made many calls to the company but I can't talk to anyone who can give me an answer as when they come back to finish the job and remove the concrete slabs from already ruined lawn. I am so frustrated with them.....

Update: Finally the crew showed up and finished the work in three days! All in all, they did a nice job at the end. They also removed all the concrete slabs and repaired the lawn in the backyard. Gregg thank you for coming by multiple times and making sure everything is done to our satisfaction. I can raise your rating now!

I hired Loc-Tite last year to do some interlocking work. The work was done to our satisfaction. After the winter, the metal border popped out in one area and there was a dip and crack in one section of the interlocking. It took 2 months of calling to get someone to come and fix it. The receptionist was very nice but no one ever called us back....they just showed up one day (luckily we were home!).

The only reason I give them a 3/10 rating is because I'm happy with the job they did now that it's fixed (hopefully it will hold!). Things get worse from here though!

Unfortunately I referred Loc-Tite to my mother several months ago (before I started calling to get my driveway fixed). She had 3 estimates all in the same ballpark, with Loc-Tite being one of them. The only reason she chose them is because I recommended them. I was at her house the day Foti came and they signed the contract and she paid the deposit. I'll let her post a review and give all the details of what happened since then, but what I can tell you now is that she's been waiting for 2 months, calling 3X per week with rare responses, and now she is being told they refuse to finish her job because they under-quoted. They also won't give her deposit back because they did about 2 hours of work and dumped a pile of small rocks on her driveway (which, by the way, is preventing her from being able to get the rest of the driveway paved and taking up parking space).

I feel like horrible for recommending them to my mom because it has put a lot of stress on both my parents. I wish I had read these reviews before because I would have never hired them myself or referred them to anyone. I have had to tell several people who I had referred them to and tell them not to hire them. It's obvious that there is a systemic issue in this company based on all the poor reviews and I'm shocked at how many reviews are 'hidden' - my guess is due to people so mad that they swore too much or accusations so bad that homestars felt the need to confirm them. Scary!

Once my parent's issue gets resolved with Loc-Tite, I will update this posting. Hopefully it will be a happy ending...soon!

So here's an update...after posting this review, Gregg (the owner) called my mother. He came over and after some negotiation agreed to finish the job at the cost quoted. My mother is very happy with the job! As a result, i increased my rating to a 7. Although the workmanship is great, i still think it is unnecessary for people to have to go through so much pain to get the job done - especially when everything was agreed and a contract signed. It shouldn't take so long for a company to respond to their clients. I think that if Loc-Tite had handled the situation differently - had been honest upfront about making a mistake - a resolution that worked for everyone would have been found quickly. I may recommend them to others in the future but i would definitely tell people what my parents had to go through so they had the full picture before hiring Loc-Tite. Kudos to Gregg for sticking to his contract and finishing the job though!
