The most terrible experience ever

Honestly, I am the type of person who almost never writes negative reviews, but I couldn't help it this time. This was the most terrible customer service ever. Firstly, my order was delayed for almost a month and none of the company representatives even informed me. To make the situation worse, I spent almost two weeks just trying to get through to them on the phone. I was promised that I would receive a call back at least 10 times, but I never got it. So, I was spending an enormous amount of time just to get someone to answer my questions. When they were finally able to find my order, I was told that the desk color I chose was no longer in stock. Keep in mind, this was after a month of waiting without any communication from their side. This is not even the end; want to hear the fun part? When I asked them to return my money (after more calls, waiting, and hollow promises), they have still yet to return it. I was promised that the manager would call me back, because the customer service people cannot find any information, So, please find another place to buy your furniture.

If you're thinking of buying from here online, think again.

It's been 2.5 months since my wife and I bought our bedroom and office furniture from here, and not only do we not have a single piece of furniture, we also have no idea when we're receive any of it.

You may think, 'yeah, but let's cut them some slack because of COVID-19.' Right, we should. But here's the thing:
1) That doesn't explain why the list of items they are waiting for from the warehouse changes every week
2) That doesn't explain the fact that I've been told repeatedly they were going to ship my partial order the same or next day and they didn't.
3) That doesn't explain reviews going back years that have experiences very similar to mine (Look at 1-star reviews on Google).

We ordered our furniture on April 29. We told them we were taking possession of our home in late May and likely wanted our furniture in early to mid-June. We were told there had been some delays with COVID so this timeline was perfect for them - they'd have 6 weeks to pull everything together.

We took possession May 22nd, and our floors were done faster than planned. Staring May 26 I started calling to try to set up a delivery date.

Here's a timeline:
Tues. May 26: Left message.
Wed. May 27: Called, spoke with a woman who said *one* of my items wasn't in stock, but she would check with the warehouse when they opened and call me back. No call back.
Thurs. June 4: Called twice. Left two messages, didn't get a call back.
Fri. June 5: Called, no answer. Sent an email.
Sat. June 6: Received a reply to my email, asking if anyone had gotten back to me, and promising me they would call me Monday.
Mon. June 8: I call them around 3:00pm. I get told the warehouse will call me right back. No one does.
Tues. June 9: I call them and they tell me my desk and my bedroom set aren't in yet, but my desk is supposed to be in on June 15, and my bedroom set on June 22. They say they're trying to rush the bedroom set to get it a week earlier, so maybe I can have everything by June 19, but *worst case* scenario, I can have it around the end of June.
Mon. June 22: I call for an update, and get told they're waiting on a few pieces. Now it's my desk, my accent table, and my bookcase. They say they'll call me right back with an estimated delivery date. They don't.
Tues. June 23: I call 6 times and eventually get through. I get told that everything will be sent early next week. Monday or Tuesday.
Mon. June 29: I get told they're still waiting on a few pieces. They'll call me back! They don't.
Tues. June 30: After 5 calls I get through. I get told they're still waiting on a few pieces and they'll call me right back when they speak to the warehouse. I get a little short with them and say, "I get told that several times a week and nobody calls me back". She promises she will, and to her credit, she does! She tells me my order is estimated to be ready in another 3 weeks! I tell her I would like them to ship me a partial order - whatever they have in stock, ASAP. She says she will get a partial order out to me on Monday.
Mon. July 6: I get told they're 1 piece shy of the full order, but it's supposed to arrive that day, so it'll get shipped tomorrow.
Tues. July 7: I get told they're 1 piece shy of the full order (it didn't come in yesterday), but it's supposed to arrive that day, so it'll get shipped tomorrow. They reassure me, the full order is all going to ship tomorrow.
Wed. July 8: The piece still didn't come in. I tell them to just ship the partial order. They say they that they'll ship the partial order Thursday.
Thurs. July 9: I get told that if I'm just willing to wait another week or two, they'll have the full order together! I tell them to ship whatever they have TODAY.
Friday, July 10: I call 9 times and leave 2 messages, and on my 10th call at 5:12pm, I get through. The order is ready to ship but hasn't been picked up yet. I ask what's in the order - she's not sure, she forgot to ask - but she says it's slightly less than half of my order (my order is 14 pieces).

Rude managers and Crappy Organization

I would give a minus rating if I could.

I regret ordering a sectional couch from this company online. Next week it will be 2 months we have been waiting. My wife and I had no issues waiting, it's what came up during the delivery process that showed the character of this company and the management.

Throughout the waiting process there were no phone calls l, not even to let us know it had arrived to set up a delivery date. I called June 10th and had booked delivery for June 12th.

On June 11th I received a call to confirm deliver on June 12th between 2-6 p.m.

On June 12th I left work 2 hours early so I could be home for the delivery and missed out on $70 pay.

Based on the delivery information, my wife and I sold our old couch on June 11th so we had the room for the new one.

On June 12th I was waiting from 2-6 until my wife and I called to see when we can expect delivery. We were informed there was a mistake and they had booked our delivery for June 13th. I live in Bowmanville and they only deliver out this way at certain times and was informed they couldn't deliver the couch until June 17th.

My 4.5 month pregnant wife and I have been sitting on the floor for the past 5 days as it is on our main floor and have a smaller home.

I called and talked to the manager Joe and explained everything and he informed me he would call me back and see what he can do as compensation. I did get a notification of a refund for the delivery which was $56. What about the hardship on my pregnant wife? What about my lost wages? For the last 3 days I haven't received any call from Joe and have called 3 times to speak to him. They ask for your name before they transfer you, so one time he was with someone, the other was he was in a meeting, and the other he wasn't in. Clearly dodging my calls.

I am sitting on my deck at the time of writing this and waiting for my couch still. I would have cancelled in a heartbeat if my pregnant wife didn't have to sit on the floor, but we are stuck at this point. I won't stop calling until I speak to him about further compensation. If I update my review, then maybe customers matter, but if no update, be weary of this place as they don't give any care towards there customers.

Sectional

Purchased a custom sectional which was delivered 2018 May. Approximately 5-6 months later it started squeaking when you sit on it. I contact the Brampton office and spoke with Cathy. She requested I make and send a video regarding the problem. I sent it to her. I waited for a response that she had received the video. It was about 1-2 weeks later that I contacted her. She did receive it. Icathy said that they won’t come to my home and fix it. It has to be picked up. I wanted the sectional picked up and a date was set. Two men showed up and questioned me several times about the sectional. They sat on the sectional and stated they won’t pick up the sectional. They would organize someone to come to my house. I again contacted Cathy about the sectional not being picked up. She apologized and a pick up and the date was rescheduled. A week later two men came to pick up the sectional. Again asking me what the problem was. One of sat on the sectional moving around to hear the squeaking. He was rude. He said he would only take half of the sectional and leave the chaise. They put it in the truck and didn’t leave an invoice. The following day I phoned Cathy who sent me an email about the pick up. At 4 weeks I again contacted Cathy. She said she had to contact the manufacturer and would phone me back. I waited and after 3 days she sent me an email that the factory wS closed and would reopen the following week. I waited and then called her about whether the sectional was done. She said yes and scheduled a pick up day with a time of 2-6. Ii waited and waited unfortunately no sectional was delivered. I called to find out what was going on. They informed me I wasn’t in the schedule. I had to booked another time. This time they called me to tell me I couldn’t get the sectional because the truck broke down. I asked to speak to the manager Joe. He said he would look into it. Finally the sectional was delivered BUT the sectional still squeaks. It is the same! So they did nothing.

Damaged hallway

The delivery men damaged my hallway when they were making a delivery to my home. This company refused to have the repairs done. I also paid for the set and the handles in the night stand were not installed.
Please see the email response that was sent by the company.
- I checked the date on when you receive your delivery.
The delivery date was on March 29, 2019
I do wish I could be of more assistance, but it is the stores policy all
damage be reported within 24 hours. Even then on the back of the "Terms and Conditions", it states that Furniture Depot is not responsible for any damage that occurs during delivery on private property.
Sorry, I checked with management and there is nothing we can do.

Regards,
Cathy

Sofa set

I usually do not write reviews but I think Furniture Depot warrants one ! I was just driving by and saw the sign and I thought it was small store but to my surprise when I went it was a lot larger than I expected . They had a lot of furniture and a lot of unusual furniture pieces that I have not seen any where else ! I found the staff very helpful and knowledgeable but at the same time not pushy. I was not really looking to buy anything but the prices really amazed me and I ended up purchasing a new sofa set, it was delivered and set up by there delivery team who I found very helpful and respectful of my home ! I will definitely be recommending them to all my friends and family.
See you guys in the summer I’ll be back a for
Bedroom set!

Poor Defective Bedroom Furniture and DELIVERY DAMAGES TO HOME

We purchased a complete bedroom set from the Brampton location. Almost every piece was defective and had to be replaced. When the replacement furniture arrived, there was still a defective piece for us! In addition, two pieces never arrived that were to be replaced. The WORST PART WAS - the moving company marked our newly painted walls and scratched our new hardwood floors. The attitude from Furniture Depot was "its not a big deal" - I paid good money for my new home and their delivery damaged my floor and walls. Back of the purchase receipt - they are not responsible. The worst customer care ever!

Cabinet

I’ve been purchasing pieces of furniture from Furniture Depot from their former sales office at Bramalea City Centre to their current location. Staff has always been courteous and efficient. Stopped by today, didn’t purchase much, but found the same high level of service whether one made an expensive purchase, or bought a single, clearance item. You make the customers feel very much at home. Thanks, Annette, for looking us today.
