Kitchen Drain

I had previously used Drain Rescue and was very pleased with their service.
Recently called them as there was a teaspoon stuck in the drain. The plumber came in and I was pleased with the work, he removed the teaspoon and cleaned up - tested the drain as he opened the P-trap.

However what he did not do was reconnect the dishwasher to the drain - and we ended up with a flood in our kitchen and into the basement. We had to fix it ourselves and when I called the next morning all they could say was "Oh sorry sometimes they get busy and just forget" - So now I have a damaged ceiling in my basement and who knows whats happening in my cupboard as all the water was running through the cupboard onto my kitchen floor and down into the basement. When I read the Terms & Conditions behind the invoice - it appears that Drain Rescue cannot be held responsible for damage.

Annoying part is you just get telephone answering services its like there is no one in charge or anyone you can talk to who would even care about the damage that was caused by their error.

$185.00

Toilet leak repair

I contacted Drain Rescue about a leak in my ceiling under the upstair toilet. Their phone manner was very good and a same day appointment was offered. The plumber was on time and he quickly identified the problem and provided an estimate and time frame. The original house plumbing had been shoddy and eventually failed on all 3 toilets. The work was done quickly and with obvious skill and professionalism. I appreciated having my questions answered along the way and the respect given to keeping my home clean and the insight and advice provided.

Basement main drain clog

Called Drain Rescue about a clogged main, gentleman showed up and immediately put a camera down the clean out.
Found the clog at the 50 ft mark just as it exits the home.
Naturally I asked for it to be snaked out but per the techs insistence the trap and damage on the exterior would prevent the snake from passing so the only option was to tear up the walkway paver stones , dig 6 ft down and replace the effected portion of pipe.
With no drainage and sewage coming up the floor drain we had little option but to accept at 10 times the cost.
Next morning they dug up the pipe but low and behold no trap or damage. The pipe was cut open and easily cleared with a small hand held plunger. You did us wrong Drain Rescue !! Deceiving business template.

In regards to this review, in no way do we deceive any of our customers. We were called to this location due to a sewer back up. Upon using the camera our technician found a damaged pipe underground. This customer was given a NO OBLIGATION estimate to repair the damaged pipe. The work was agreed upon and our crew went out the following day. Drain Rescue provided service that was contractually agreed upon.

Stay far far away from them

This is customer alert. Stay far from this company. They are overpriced at least 70-100% compared to other licenced legitimate plumbing business in GTA.
The way they deceive you into the contract works like this. They tell you it is free estimate and if they use their camera then it would be $300 charge. when they come at first they do their diagnosis and give you a estimate which for us was $3000 (we had blockage in our drain) and ask you if you want to go a head for full measurement to use the camera for the job. You think base on initial estimate and say ok and then they give use a false measurement and the price will go up almost twice and make big deal of the problem. For us they told us they need to dig 14ft but they don’t have in their quoting chart such depth they only charge us 10 ft ( and mention to you each 4 feets are $1000) and after bargaining with them they will say they are quoting to give you another $900 on top of that and if you don’t sign the contract you have to pay the $300 that you agree to pay but you did it base on your budget that you set on $3000 not this. The customer will agree to avoid that $300 and base on the fact they think they are getting $1900 discount as the technician pushing them to sign the contract by using pressure sale technique and they assure you if partially measurement changes they recalculate and all this discounts are for prompt sale on spot. So the customer thinks if the measurement changes they get the same deal and discount so It looks good BUT TILL YOU KNOW THE INITIAL MEASUREMENT WAS FAKE.
When the job is done, they just want give you discount (they told us the need to dig 14 ft which ended to be just 7.5 ft, almost for half what they gave you estimate ($5088) they just can give $500 discount when their measurement was almost half. Not willing to recalculate the initial quote but now base on the facts.
The way they make sure by all these things they get their money at end is by scaring people. They came to our property and after we try to tell them the original deal they said “On that day we wanted to give you discount but now we DON’T LIKE TO DO THAT and you have to pay as we put lean on your house and charge your credit card unauthorized.” When I try to tell them they can’t charge anyone’s account unauthorized. He started to yell in our neighbourhood “you are fraud and giving us false information” over and over again. They terrified my two little kids and I paid them the balance in full for the sake of the kids. Which was my only mistake I should have call 911.
Their business work base on pressure sale, they come and say if they just can give you probe discount on spot if they leave the deal is off. Be fully aware, in the contract they give you just mentioned about the money you have to pay, not the detail about the work needs to be done and that is how they turn around you. after they get the job done and get their money, they still refuse to write the detail about the depth and length of the place they digged. Why a business refuse to write what they are billing you for?
They want half of the money (%50 instead of %10) up front, to make sure you don't shop around and also on the back of the contract they mention this money is non refundable if you change you mind, they just want to make sure you are fully hooked considering they are charging you twice what other businesses will do that is where 50% comes from.
My first tip for you will be: DON'T FALL INTO THIS TRAP
Second: No matter how much you get discount from them even with the correct measurement, other businesses get the job done by half price.
Last but not least, if their technician comes to your door yelling and screaming, making false accusation, dishonoring you in your neighborhood and terrifying you kids, JUST CALL 911 they are impossible to negotiate with and that is the way to deal with it legally.

Company Response

We have tried to resolve this issue for about a month. We take pride in our customer service and always do what we can to to make sure all our customers are happy with the end result. A complaint was brought to our attention, the manager at Drain Rescue offered a resolution, which at first was accepted, but then it seems that this customer changed their mind. This review has been edited a few times and unfortunately it looks like they will not be satisfied with any resolution we have offered them.

Installation of a new faucet in the kitchen sink

Their representative Blair was prompt, very friendly and most helpful in getting the job done in very short order. He went above and beyond what I have experienced from other service representatives. I highly recommend this firm and Blair to do any plumbing job which an owner might not want to tackle on his own. Same day prompt service was most appreciated and unexpected these days. Leaky Toilet

Great experience with Brian. Excellent trouble shooting to get right to the heart of the issue, so not to waste time and focus on the results. He was thorough and didn't wrap up until he was satisfied. The price was quite fair and I was happy with how quickly he finished and how clean he left the place. If needed, I would use this company again.
