The guys (Lance and Nick) came early this morning and quickly found and resolved the issue of a leak suddenly springing up in the basement under the powder room. It was a temporary cap left on a vent that should have been made permanent and glued on during construction (goodness knows how many years ago!), so they attached one of the right type, secured it and were gone again - after cleaning up - in about half an hour. Shout out to Kim in the office for a very supportive and communicative scheduling process. Really appreciate the great customer service all around. (Landlord is paying but was only charged for visit and diagnostic)

Hired Camy at the end of September to update an old basement reno with kitchen and bath, and he and his team were done faster than expected and with a nice end product. Made sure the site was kept tidy and was very responsive to calls and requests.

I rented a house after selling my own, and got it with a little overlap, so I could clean and move over with a little more flexibility, and decided to paint essentially the whole interior of the place. I contacted Scott at the Finer Edge based on the company’s HomeStars ratings and I am thrilled with the outcome. They were timely, careful and very professional in their approach to the project, and with the job itself. I was able to walk through with Scott and detail exactly what I wanted to have done, then met with the project site leader and Scott to ensure we were all on the same page before the work started, and had another review before the final cleanup so we could again ensure I was totally happy with the results. The finished product is beautiful, the house was left clean and tidy with all fixtures restored to their places, and my new rental now feels like home! Great job and I would definitely use them again.

I had commissioned and paid for a 6 foot high, 25 foot long retaining wall at the side of my property in 2015 and it was already leaning out visibly. It was not done properly to account for the mass of earth behind the wall, and the structural needs, but the original contractor defaulted on his warranty and left the poor work for me to fix. Steve and team came in, assessed the needs for the redo of the wall and assisted me in finding a structural engineer. He then got his team out to do the work in a really rapid manner. He and his team dealt with additional changes by the engineer, grumpy, yelling neighbours and a tricky labour-intensive job. He completed it quickly and well, and paid attention to the surroundings, ensuring that the area was kept clear for through traffic as needed. The retaining wall and laneway ended up clean and level for the multiple shared owners' use, after Steve and his team stayed till after 9 pm on a Friday night to get it done. I really appreciated the timely completion, and the end product is stable, sturdy and likely to last for another 20 years plus.

I was leaving on a 2-week vacation when I noticed that the upstairs toilet was leaking, into my coat closet on the main floor! I got back last night, called The Toronto Plumber and Alex was here within a couple of hours. He was very thorough, clean and capable, and he explained everything that he was doing as he went, so I knew what the issue was, how to prevent similar situations and what exactly he was doing to fix it. It was a great experience out of a very stressful one, and the toilet looks better than it has since I moved in 5 years ago! I will keep his card and use him again if and when I need a plumber. Highly recommend him!

KC and his team are great - they are very responsive, very customer-friendly, fast, efficient and competent. I cannot say enough about what a refreshing change I found it to have this team working on my house after what felt like an almost endless series of half-baked jobs completed by other firms, in my efforts to get the house done. They are very careful and respectful of keeping the place tidy, doing a great job and checking in to make sure things are good with their customer, every step of the way. I will definitely be calling on them again if I need anything done. They did a variety of jobs for me, from hanging pictures, mirrors, shelves and a very heavy TV to drywall and refinishing my closet, to a complete Hardie board installation on the front of my house. Thanks very much gentlemen!

Like the many others who have reported on this site, I had the exact same experience with Chris and crew. I hired them on to do a complete insulation and installation of Hardie board on my new addition. DO NOT try this at home! The work that is done is fine, but it took over 3 months to complete, repeated phone calls, missed appointments and finally threats of a lawsuit and consumer complaint to get the work done - if another contractor onsite had not noticed the missing eaves-trough and down-spout, I would have been in even more trouble but as it is, the lack of drainage from my roof led to neighbour complaints and a sinkhole in my backyard before Chris and team came back - and even now, he STILL has not removed all the trash and leftovers from my backyard. I heard a lot of excuses, and no good reasons for these delays. Like another reviewer I made the mistake of paying before the work was done, as I had to travel... big mistake.

This team - Bohdan and Leo - were a refreshing and welcome change from the experiences I have had with many other contracted service providers! They arrived on time and as promised, and set up the kitchen cabinets exactly as needed, with detailed explanations to check that I was getting what I wanted before they put it together, and how to manage all of the cabinetry so I can remove doors and trim as needed for cleaning, installation of appliances etc. They were friendly, detail-oriented, careful and conscientious in their entire approach and I have already recommended them to a friend who is planning a new second kitchen in the next year or so. I would recommend their service to everyone and would use them again myself if I ever need to do so, with no hesitation whatsoever. I am really thrilled with the outcomes.

I contacted High Tech Appliance Service this evening and Atiar was here an hour later - with a replacement for the faulty part, since I had told him the error code showing up on my washer. He is professional, up-front and efficient, and I will gladly re-engage him if I need more appliance repairs. He provides the 30-day guarantee as well, as mentioned by other customers here, so I am really glad of my choice for repairing my washer.

This reno happened before I moved in to my home, and was supposed to take about 6 weeks. It took 5 months. The bathroom upstairs went through extensive remodeling including a re-positioning of the toilet and bath. The contractors didn't use spacers on the tile (so the tiles are uneven) and the grout has almost all fallen out in the 4 years since, beginning right away - including on the floor and beside the window. The toilet tank was chipped as they installed it, they didn't cap the window until a friend pointed it out to me and I specifically requested it, and the tub leaked down into the dining room below upon its first use - at which point they came back and smeared sealant on the tub and cut a hole in the wall to raise it up from the room next door. It still collects water on the side whenever the tap is turned on. My very expensive little bathroom never looked as though it was properly finished, and they didn't even clean before they handed it over until I asked and showed pictures of the various urine stains and dirt in the bathroom. During the reno, they left my house key "hidden" on the porch in the front of the house despite my requests not to (I had a neighbour who kept coming into the house and removing fixtures for the former owner), smoked inside, and were generally filthy. The owner took no responsibility for the issues on inspection, was defensive and dismissive, and did little or nothing to address them. They were both expensive AND careless with this reno, and needed constant oversight, which was both unexpected and more than I could provide at the time.
