Technician came from Holland Landing (why?). Diagnostic cost was $150..too high. He took the mother board out. Came back and reinstalled the same mother board. This was May 11. Aug 10, same problem with oven. MAX refused to even consider honoring the 3 month warranty. Pretty pathetic customer service and PR. $406, with NO new parts was a large price to pay. I actually had given MAX name to a few friends. I will be calling them to take back my referral!!

Prompt and courteous. Unfortunately, for me, the technician actually discovered the problem almost immediately, but, the recently installed panel had been mislabeled by the electrician who put it in (not Captain Electric). There had been a GFI put in at the box (for the circuit that was not working) and when that failed, no current was available to that circuit. There was no reason for the GFI to have been put in, as a GFI already existed for the bathroom that they had marked (incorrectly) Because the problem was not matched up with the circuit it was on, the C.E. technician did a single circuit diagnosis ($283). So, it cost me over $200 more than if the failed GFI had initially been removed.

Company Response

Thank you Lex. We often find that the panel directory is not labelled correctly (sometimes not at all) and this can be misleading to both the homeowner or an electrician when troubleshooting. We were glad to have been able to solve the problem, remake some loose connections on the circuit, and protect the circuit properly with a new GFCI receptacle in the washroom. Thank you for choosing Captain Electric. ...bw

We have been basically pleased with the services provided. The one area that continues to be somewhat of a concern is the weed eradication. I spent a lot of time killing weeds, myself. I realize that you have specific days in which you treat the 'individual' weeds, but we always seem to have some broad leaf weeds throughout the entire growing season. I also wonder if you could introduce a corn gluten treatment in late March/early April to limit the propogation of crabgrass? Also, despite paying extra for the nematodes grub treatment, we had animals digging, especially in the back yard. Is there a springtime treatment that needs to be applied so that summer digging (for grub) does not occur?
