Recently, I had the pleasure of using McKinnon for a tankless water heater installation in my home. So happy I called these guys. The owner, Michael, arrived within an hour to provide a quote and his advice regarding our intricate setup which involved radiant floor heating. Out of the seven top-rated companies I considered, none matched the depth of knowledge Michael was able to provide - he's truly an expert in his field. Later that same night, Michael sent over a quote which outlined several options and was generally more reasonable than his competitors. The installation process began the following morning. The McKinnon team, made up of three to four hardworking individuals, was both friendly and professional. They worked diligently all day to complete what I came to understand was a significant task. Their workmanship on the installation was flawless, they disposed of the old water tank, and left the work area clean. To top it off, they took the time to clearly explain how to use the new system. I was equally impressed with their after-service care. When I called Michael about a minor issue, which ultimately turned out to be unrelated to the installation, he sent a technician within a day to check it out. After inspection, they discovered an issue with a shower cartridge and provided advice on the necessary steps to resolve it. Overall, I have nothing but high praise for McKinnon's services. Their blend of expertise, value, and efficiency is impressive and I wouldn't hesitate to utilize their services again. I confidently recommend them based on my personal experience.

When we first met Sal, we knew he was different. He was professional, organized, gave honest advice (saving us money), and provided suggestions that made good use of our space for our family. He was not the cheapest, but reasonably priced, especially given the quality of the work and service. You get what you pay for 100%. Importantly, he never nickel/dimed us on things. The price is generally the price with Sal. This was a large, complex project (front and back interlocking, unique grading, several retaining walls). Sal and his team arrived on time and finished on time. One thing to note about Sal is that he does not farm out work - he was here every day for more than two weeks with his team, making sure every stone was laid perfectly and measuring grades to the millimeter. He is a perfectionist and cares about every aspect of the project. The finished product looks so good that several of our neighbours have reached out for Sal's contact information. We could not be more thrilled. The pictures do not do it justice. Finally, on a personal note, we got to know Sal over the course of this project, and have come to consider him a friend. He is a kind, personable guy who does everything from the heart. Even our toddler says "See Sal" whenever his name comes up. Come back anytime, Sal!

I contacted at least 15 bathroom renovation companies though Homestars to retile my shower floor.Robbie was the most competitive on price, professionalism and service. I would definitely use him again and recommend him to friends and family. He's really busy, so if you have a small job like mine, it may take a while for him to fit you in, but the wait is worth it. A++!

Until I've dealt with G.H. Johnson. We were (rightfully) disappointed that they made us wait an hour to put in an order for a couch that was already sold to someone else. The owner's son walked over and said 'Do you have a problem? Because we can go outside." My girlfriend and I were in complete shock! Purchased a couch from them years ago but never again. They have decent selection and great prices, but delivery is a nightmare and customer service is borderline abusive. Avoid at all costs.

I hired Shane at Clean Cut to design, construct and install a 12-foot wide wall unit for my living room. I initially contacted 5 of the highest rated companies in this category on Homestars, and Shane was by far the best to deal with and had the most reasonable pricing. At the planning phase of the project, I showed Shane a few wall units that I liked on the internet to give him an idea of my style - he worked with those ideas to create a design that was truly unique and ideal for my space. I could not be happier with the design and was excited to see what the actual unit would look like in real life. Well, I can honestly say that the finished product did not fall short from the design one bit - it looked exactly like the 3D rendering Shane showed me, and if anything, better in person. The quality of the materials and precision in caftsmanship blew me away. In addition to this, Shane installed the unit by the agreed upon date, on budget, and his crew cleaned up after themselves. These guys get an A+! I highly recommend!

After reading the great reviews on Homestars, I decided to contact Toronto Home Theater. My loft came with in-wall speakers and I wanted to find out how to get them to work. I spoke with Mike, and on the phone he said that he would come out and do a consultation for $99, which would be applied toward the work he did. He also said that upon visiting, he would be able to determine the quality of the speakers. When he came in for the consultation, he told me how to hook up the system but said that he would not come back to do the job, because it's too small. He also was not able to determine the quality of the speakers, but stated that "since they're in a condo, they're probably bad". That's certainly not the advice I had expected. I also asked Mike about setting up a home theater. He sent me a quote for audio equipment that was at least 30-40% too high. This makes sense, since Mike mentioned that it was not worth his time to do the install unless I purchased the equipment from him. Overall, I'm really disappointed. When I raised the above issues with Mike via email, he didn't even respond. I definitely did not receive the same service that all of the other reviewers rave about. I went elsewhere for my home theater and couldn't be happier. Oh, and I hooked up the in-wall speakers and they sound incredible! That was $99 well wasted.

Alliance is the best. I contacted at least ten different flooring stores for the specific product I wanted, and Alliance provided the best price and were by far the most pleasant to deal with. They truly care about customer satisfaction!!! Their quote was accurate; their installation was meticulous; they left my place spotless; and they were more than happy to come back to resolve a very minor issue (I'm a picky customer) - something that many service providers rarely do. I can't wait to deal with them again in the future. A+ for service quality! Thanks Timea and Lehel!
