The tech showed up the same day in the late afternoon, sprayed the area, and now the wasps don't come back. The tech explained how they're licensed to use professional grade sprays, rather than the over-the-counter stuff which is nowhere near as effective (side note: a friend tried the foam and the wasps ate right through the foam!). The tech's right: You do need the professional service!

My A/C fan did not spin, and I was recommended to Y K by my parents. The technician showed up the next day and indicated that a pipe inside had broken off, and all the freon was lost. He soldered the pipe back, and the A/C started working again. The company indicated that the high cost of the visit was mainly due to the high cost of freon, and they actually make no money from the freon because the payment simply passes through them to the freon supplier. Two days later, the unit stopped again, and the circuit breaker kept on triggering. Fortunately the tech was very kind, and came back the next day to find that the motor control unit was burned out... and replaced the unit for free! The A/C unit ran again... However, the compressor completely failed a week later, and another tech was sent to report that the entire unit needs to be replaced! The expense for the previous visits were taken into account when they priced the new unit, but still, I wished that we could have gone to that conclusion sooner. Also, they weren't really able to give me a lot of confidence in the brand and make of the new unit (Keeprite), although I did go online to see that it was an okay brand. Perhaps they just don't market their brand as much.

On a cold Saturday night after dinner, my family returned home and tried to open the garage door. The garage door went up half way before stopping... so we lowered it again and tried to re-open it, but this time the door didn't even go up halfway. After manually lifting the door open, I found Open Sesame on Homestars, and thankfully I was able to reach Steve directly on a Saturday night! Steve was so experienced and knowledgeable, that he was able to accurately identify the problem over the phone in minutes, instantly quoted me a fixed price including parts and labour, and we set a time for Sunday immediately! There was no haggling over weekend rates, emergency rates, his availability, no third-person appointment-taker... What a quick and easy deal! Again, Steve was so experienced that he was able to give me a firm time-frame for the repairs (just 45 minutes), and when the job was done, he also showed me all the broken parts in the motor as confirmation. Throughout the entire process, Steve was very courteous and polite, clear in his explanations, and had the utmost respect for my convenience and time. I would recommend Steve to anyone - thank you for your help!

They were friendly, polite in their professionalism, as well as being very knowledgeable about each step of the process. The equipment was heavy duty and in top shape. These guys are in it for the long run, and showed how passionate they were in customer satisfaction and living up to their 10-star reputation. Well done, gentlemen!

Direct Energy (or their sub-contracted) techs have always been cordial and professional in making sure my heating and cooling equipment are up to par for the upcoming season. This last visit last week was no different, and the technician also pointed out air flow leakages from the furnace which he recommended I duct tape. I appreciated this extra bit of advice for the extra efficiency and savings!

I purchased a deal from Groupon to hire this company. The frustrations started as soon as I clicked "Checkout"... 1. It was near impossible to book an appointment. No one picked up the phone, no one responded to my voicemails. I had to contact Groupon a few times to complain (they told me to be patient and try again, which I did), and Groupon had to go tell them to contact me to book an appointment. 2. We finally book an appointment, so I take half a day off to wait for them at home, 12pm-4pm. No one shows up, so I call them at 4:30pm to see what's going on, and leave a message. They call back at 5:30pm to tell me that their truck had broken down, and they would call me right back to see if they can still make it. They call back at 7:15pm to tell me they can't make it, and we reschedule. 3. I take another half day off to wait for them (12pm-4pm) on the new appointment date. No one shows up. Can't even leave a voicemail when I call their number. Call again the next day, leave a voicemail, no one returns my call. 4. I contact Groupon to refund my purchase... and now I have a Groupon credit for no reason. If you value your time, vacation days, money, and sanity, do not deal with this company. Given their lack of professionalism and accountability, even if they came back and offered to do it for free, I would not trust to let them into my house and do anything.

Garage door only opened a foot off the floor when I got home from work, and it was really the torsion spring that had snapped. Called Tim at 6:30pm, and fortunately he agreed to stop by that same night at 10pm. Explained everything, did a professional job, and even spent time to go through the details. Uses only the best materials!

Called at 10am in the morning, left a message, and fortunately Troy returned my call in about an hour. He was in the area, arrived at my home in 30 minutes... and after around 30 minutes of dusting, the bees started dropping. By the next day, there were no more bees! Paul accepted a late evening request to look at a furnace that was 1. very noisy when it was on, and 2. often didn't turn on when it was supposed to. He was polite and appreciative of my business, and patiently explained the problem, how the problem arose, and what the remedy was. He also did not rush, and patiently made sure he tested everything before he left. Don't look elsewhere - Heating Plus deserves your business! As promised from an earlier appointment, Serge replaced the furnace motor for a great price, tested it... and then proceeded to replace my thermostat with a programmable one. Friendly service! In response to a previous negative post - yes, these guys are very very good, and thus are sometimes quite difficult to schedule an appointment with. The administrator and I went back and forth a few times before we could find a time for the appointment. They really do try their best to accommodate, but that's what happens when they're that good, and make that sacrifice rather than do quick shoddy work.
