My A/C fan did not spin, and I was recommended to Y K by my parents. The technician showed up the next day and indicated that a pipe inside had broken off, and all the freon was lost. He soldered the pipe back, and the A/C started working again. The company indicated that the high cost of the visit was mainly due to the high cost of freon, and they actually make no money from the freon because the payment simply passes through them to the freon supplier.
Two days later, the unit stopped again, and the circuit breaker kept on triggering. Fortunately the tech was very kind, and came back the next day to find that the motor control unit was burned out... and replaced the unit for free! The A/C unit ran again...
However, the compressor completely failed a week later, and another tech was sent to report that the entire unit needs to be replaced! The expense for the previous visits were taken into account when they priced the new unit, but still, I wished that we could have gone to that conclusion sooner.
Also, they weren't really able to give me a lot of confidence in the brand and make of the new unit (Keeprite), although I did go online to see that it was an okay brand. Perhaps they just don't market their brand as much.
