Assured Basements

We wanted to finish our basement as a legal apartment for my parents. We always conveyed this to all contractors we had inquired with including this company. So when we were given our initial quote on the first meeting (where my husband and I signed and put down $2000) we thought that the quote given would be the cost of the project. I knew that there would probably be added costs in the end of it all, but figured it would be close to the quote in the end. When we had the meeting in the showroom to pick our selections for finishes (which I did like that process) we were gobsmacked at the cost given to us at the end of that meeting. It was practically double the initial quote. When I had questioned that, I was told that I was not quoted for a legal basement apartment although I know my husband and I had communicated that from the start. At this point we already felt committed and I did have some faith that these guys would deliver a nice space in the end (this is a learning experience for us and a big character check). We were not happy that the initial quote basically doubled by the end of the selection meeting but when I had previously inquired with other contractors regarding a legal basement apartment the costs were pretty much to par. We just felt like we were in a "bait and switch" situation. The company could improve greatly with their sales approach and transparency in that way. A company that is fully transparent regarding finances and cost would benefit greatly in gaining full trust of their clients.
With that being said we are satisfied with the work that was done and all the workers that came to our home to provide a safe and nice space for my parents to live in. All workers were courteous and professional and always left the space clean at the end of their work day. I appreciate Camillo working really hard especially in the end to patch up any rough finishes. It took longer than expected to finish but the end result was a safe legal basement apartment for my parents that is cozy and well done- a space that they enjoy.

From the first moment I reached Assured Basement to the end of the project, I was delighted with the entire team's professionalism, attention to details, eagerness to complete everything on time with the highest quality of service and material.

We are very satisfied with the work of Assured Basements. On the day that we met Mike, we discussed about our budget. He is very enthusiastic and knows what he's doing. He walked us through the process and came up with preliminary plans and estimated price. He also gave us a discount which we really appreciate. They were also able to start the project a week earlier than the scheduled date. Before they started they put protection on the floors and and were also very careful when bringing their materials and equipment down. As we have noticed, and also a very good reason why we highly recommend them is that all of their staff are very friendly, polite, and courteous. They hire subcontractors (which is normal, like any other construction companies), and like their own staff, were also very respectful and professional. They were all accommodating whenever we check/ask what is being done. We were never uncomfortable the whole time that our basement is being done.

If there is one thing that needs to be improved is their coordination. There were instances that our phone calls were unreturned whenever we have inquiries about materials selection/ work schedule. Sometimes, they will just show up even if it is not in schedule and we are not at home. Their payment plan works by stages, but there were times that we were billed even if the job is not done yet. These matters were resolved, but like any other client, this can be very stressful especially when your fund comes from a loan.

Overall, as shown in the pictures, Assured Basements have done a near-perfect job on our project. We are very satisfied with the result. We highly recommend them and will be calling them again for future projects.

We hired a contractor to renovate our basement but it turned to be a nightmare as the contractor ruined our project; the design, the framing, the drywalls, and electricity did not fall under the Ontario Code. Huge thanks to Assured basement Inc. to easily fix everything and giving us a wonderful experience!

After calling Assured basement Inc., we had Michael coming over; he checked the basement and gave us a reasonable estimate price.

After that Ryan, make a visit to the house to be sure what plan to carry out for a proper work as the basement was done unprofessionally with the previous contractor. Quick thinking, Ryan changed the design of the basement from one bedroom basement to a two bedrooms and a den. With a friendly and professional manner, Ryan explained to us with a detailed manner what needed to be done and the timeline for the work to be done.

First step is the demolition: When the worker start the demolition process, we noticed that the workers always clean the mess after them.

After demolition, Ryan came and shared with us the new design to submit to the town.

The approval of the design was fast and the work in the basement started. All the workers that comes to do the job are very respectful, punctual and professionals with great communication skills about what they are doing.

Because we have to enlarge two windows in the basement, Ryan used his expertise and skills to enlarge only one window instead of two while respecting the code. This save us money!

After finishing the basement, we are extremely pleased to have good-looking two bedrooms legal basement with Nice flooring, Beautiful kitchen, Stylish Bathroom. It was done very professionally and quickly. We cannot thank you too much Assured Group Inc. for such excellent job! Thanks to everyone that was involved in this project. Way to go Assured Basement!

Even though we went with the half solution the assured team treated us no different from the rest. Huge shout out to Andrej, Nathan, Ryan, Mike, the plumbers, drywallers, framers, tapers, hvac, electrical. Mike was very professional. Andrej and Nathan were quick to jump on any questions and issues my family and I encountered through our adventures together. I'm in the construction business and deal with customers everyday. The way we were treated was in a very professional and respectful manor. I realized fast I was in great hands and could be stress free with everything they did.

I was very lucky to have Assured Basement! They made sure that we were aware of what each portion of the cost was dedicated to. The consultation with Mike, Perry and Ryan were clear and if we had any questions, they would make himself available to help us out. We were also provided with a very detailed schedule of when the workers were coming in and what specific area they were going to accomplish each day. Job finished within scheduled in six weeks.
I had no stress during that time, they trust me and I trust them. Time so fast to get new beautiful basement!!!

We are thankful that we found Assured Basements to complete our finished basement. Weve owned our home since 2010 (when we first built it) and finally after years and years of the space remaining unfinished, we wanted to get it done in 2022.

I reached out to several companies, and Assured Basements was the ONLY company that responded to our inquiry and were so quick, and professional!

Mike came to our home, and viewed the basement space, and was able to give us a general baseline idea of the renovation cost right away. We then ended up having to put our plans on hold for a few months due to circumstances outside of our control, but as soon as we were ready to resume in early summer, Mike happily reconnected with us quickly, and we got things rolling.

From that point on, the process was quick! Within a few short weeks, Andrej and Hollis came to our home, and helped us plan the layout of our space; we visited the showroom and made all of the design selections. Shoutout to Caneisha who designed us an awesome wet bar!

Once construction began, the work ethic of Nathan and everyone that was in our space for the actual construction and renovation process was great. we found everyone responsible, and professional, and they made an effort to be as non-disruptive as they could when possible (as much as one can be during a renovation!) knowing that I work from home.

As homeowners we were able to follow along with each stage through the Buildertrend App that they use. We were appreciative of the teams responsiveness and transparency during the overall process.

With any post-renovation questions weve had, Ryan, Andrej, and Mike and the rest of the Assured Basements team have continued to remain responsive and professional with answers. We use our basement all the time now!

We are so thankful for the amazing team at Assured Basements. The sales manager Salik came to visit our house and was able to accurately scope and price our basement. When we were getting quotes we had about 6 different basement companies come in and alot of them were not even willing to come to the house and wanted to book zoom call. We as a family come from trades and have knowledge that you cannot price a contracting job through Zoom. Assured basement has raised the bar in their process, detail to attention, communication and softwares they use.

We were looking to renovate the basement of our new home, and contacted several contractors. It was difficult to get a timely quote from anyone and everyones schedule was too packed to accommodate our preferred timeline.

We contacted Assured after seeing an ad in a local flyer. They attended our home and generated a quote almost instantly after evaluating the space and taking measurements. We had some moisture issues to address before starting any work and they were helpful and supportive in suggesting how we could do that without rushing us to start work.

We had never done a home Reno and were nervous about such a large purchase. We received responsive transparent and professional service from start to finish.

Their work was well done and were just a great group of people. Caneisha was ever so helpful during the design process and really helped us through the process. Ondrej was spectacular and very knowledgeable.Ryan was also a great sounding board and convinced us to ensure the work was permitted to protect our Tarion. All the subs did great work . Really appreciated Dan our finisher going the extra mile too.

The job was finished weeks ahead of the communicated schedule. The best part of the experience was the client service and watching each stage.

We have been singing Assureds praises to friends and family and really are thankful to have such great extra living space.

My wife and I decided to finish our unfinished basement in our 10 year old home, we were a bit worried about finding the right Contractor and concerned about the timing of the project, we wanted it completed by Christmas and we sort of left it till the last minute to do so.
