I paid Mahmoud 8000 in etransfer to install new furnace , air conditioner and tankless water heater. He kept asking for deposits and I would give it to him. He kept saying he is trying to book home assessment for rebate. It has been 7 weeks and he keeps telling me tomorrow of next week but never shows up. He is not answering my texts or calls. I borrowed the money from family as I am a single mother of 4 and also looking after my 95 yrs old mom who lives with me. He has taken 8000 and not answering calls or texts. Please I need to know what I can do.

I hired him in a desperate situation for a simple fix. He turned the job in to full replacement of a good reliable brand furnace that was only 12 years young; with one that is of a lower capacity. A job that should cost only a few hundred $ ended up costing me $3500 with a written promise that he will get me a rebate of $700; that was in Nov 2021 and since then it has been a never ending chain of excuses followed by a complete blackout. I hired a lawyer to have him willfully pay me back what I am rightly owed or it will be an all out war with him on all fronts - and I will invite everyone who lost money to this guy or his various companies to join me. My lawyer has collected a lot of information on this guy and his many business names; permits, advertisement medias, assets, and interests.

Never deal with Comfort Level One. This guy Mo runs off with your deposit and will never pay you back. Over a period of two months he kept giving me excuses - sick, guests, internet disruptions, promises for pay, etc etc. Now I must file in small claims court to try to get my money back.
BEWARE!!I echo the negative comments I wish I read before I ever dealt with him. Not at all trustworthy.

Beware of this company and this "Moe" guy.
Bought a promotion package in February which included a Gaz furnace + AC + installation
Paid him ahead all the money as he had to drop all the equipments at my place and come install in April.
He came by saying he made a mistake with the AC and took it away and never replaced it, we are In july and he hasnt done the work yet and find all type of excuses.
I am asking now for a cancellation and refund and he keep telling me for more than 3 weeks now that he is in Toronto.
Be careful with this Moe guy.
I am looking for filing a law suit against him with my lawyer at the moment.
I am ready to spend what ever it takes to stop him from making other victims.

Paid for 3 services and he only pursued 2 services and there were major delays. Unacceptable and I cannot believe there was always unexpected personal matters that prevented him from coming back to complete the job. This service started in November 2022 and we are now June 2022 and he wont give back my deposit.

Do NOT give any money or business to "Mo/Mahmoud/Mahmood" from Comfort Level One. He's started and closed several businesses in order to run away with deposits, and uses fake addresses and different spellings of his name. He cheaps out on jobs, runs away with money, and is flat out DANGEROUS for gas installations.
I'm a General Contractor in Ottawa, and dealing with him was the single worst experience I have ever had in 20 years of business. This is also the first negative review I have ever posted. Ever.
He replaced a furnace and hot water tank 6 weeks ago in January. Wanted all money up front in cash and e-xfers and gave no paperwork.
Covertly installed a much smaller hot water tank than was discussed, only suitable for a 1 bath condo for my 3 bath house. (Navien 150s, Google it). The install was horrible. Cigarette butts and pee holes all over the driveway, broken concrete and sawdust left everywhere.
The next day the water tank threw an emergency code and stopped working. He said he'd replace it but claimed he couldn't because he had no money. He also didn't install the air conditioning condenser even though I've paid for it in full, he left the cut lines hanging and open. (He didn't evacuate the refrigerant, just let it blow out into the basement!) He kept making up stories every few days about ordering the heater. He didn't know I have accounts at his suppliers, since I'm a GC, so quick calls kept revealing he was simply making up stories.
My wife speaks Arabic, and during the install she asked me why people kept calling him asking for money.
After a few weeks I realized he has no intention of coming back so my lawyer did some digging. Turns out he regularly takes deposits and runs. He's started and dissolved 3 companies in the last few years. I'm not allowed to mention other companies in this review, (You can contact me for info) but both are rife with people complaining about deposits taken and work not completed.
So, I had another HVAC tech come by, he immediately wanted to shut down and red tag the entire installation, it was THAT DANGEROUS. Also, the likely reason for the malfunction is that he used too long of a cheaper, undersized gas line. (Heater can only take 24' of 1/2" line, he used 30') So I've had to report him to the TSSA due to the red tag, and yet still, I don't have a working hot water heater, and he's making up stories about family emergencies (Which he's told other people over and over).

It's been 6 weeks now, it's obvious he has no plans to repair/replace the unit OR install the AC coil I paid for either. I offered to take a partial refund, but of course I haven't seen that yet either.
If this review is still up, it means he hasn't fixed or refunded the money. It's a new story or reason every week.
There are many people who have posted these types of reviews and I've been in contact with a few of them. If you've been victimized by Mo please email me at danwec(at)gmail.com and I can give you much more info than I'm allowed to hear due to review guidlines.
So, now I still have an undersized, malfunctioning hot water heater, no air conditioning, I have to go to court, and I had a chat with a detective who believes there's more than enough for a fraud investigation.
If he responds here with anything, it will be yet another made-up story. I'll take the reviews down if he fixes his issues.

Could save me some money

Called on Tuesday for emergency service. Arrived same day. After and honest assessment they recommended replacement. No price haggling as the quote given was already rock bottom. The furnace was fully installed and functioning as promised by Thursday afternoon. No mess, no fuss. I didn't lift a finger. Real honest professionals. Will recommend to everyone. Thank you Moe!

I am very please with the service, a new furnace. Quick, courteous and efficient AND at a fair price. Moe installed on time - even after we had big snow storm! I would recommend without hesitation Moe and Comfort Level One. Thanks Moe. -Chris
