I searched for more than a year for a company to fix four HVAC (heating/air conditioning) fan coil systems in two condos that I own in an older building (40+ years old) in North York.
I must have contacted 20 to 30 Toronto-area HVAC companies in an effort to find a good, honest company that knew how to fix these systems. Elite Mechanical Services was one of the last companies I contacted. I found an ad for Elite on kijiji.ca
Brent was so honest and decent. He gave me very reasonable estimates on the four HVAC systems that I needed repairing. Other HVAC companies (including the condo building's recommended companies) told me I needed to replace all the systems at a cost of up to almost $3,000 each! That would have meant almost $12,000!
By contrast, Brent recommended I just fix or replace the components that needed fixing/replacing and leave the other components because they were still useful.
Brent was not only honest, but he was also very knowledgeable and did a great job ... and he arrived on time for both his estimate and to do the work.
When Brent was unable to repair one component (a leaking tray) because it was too badly corroded, he very quickly obtained another tray and came back the next day (despite a very hectic schedule) to install it because he was so concerned about us.
His office assistant, Sarah, was also wonderful to deal with. She had to patiently send the paperwork (insurance and WSIB coverage) several times to our condo's property manager before the property manager finally approved Elite to work in my units.
Brent also installed a lint box for the dryer in each of my units.
I think Elite Mechanical Services is excellent. I would recommend this company to anyone. It's so inspiring to find a good, honest HVAC service that can fix the old fan coil systems. Brent even followed up the day after he finished the work to make sure I was satisfied.
I ended up spending a total of about $1,700 (including HST) for the four HVAC units and two lint boxes (instead of up to almost $12,000 quoted by other companies).
I am extremely grateful ... and frankly I feel a little like I won the lottery for HVAC companies. :-)
