Durham Finest Appliance

Our dryer broke and a company we contacted referred Chris and his team. Chris and his team diagnosed the problem quickly. They were friendly and professional, and provided sound advice on repairing versus purchasing new.

DFA came to my home on March 8, 2016 to repair a microwave. The appliance needed door switches, so Chris took it to his shop. I expected the microwave returned. After a month, he said, it required further testing. On May 27th, it was scheduled to be returned. Long story. . . After 34 text messages, numerous phone calls, waiting at home 3 full days, it has yet to be returned. I have been waiting over 9 months for a simple microwave to be returned.

I do not believe that my request is unreasonable. However, the service is completely unacceptable and my patience has reached it’s limit.

I had a leak in my furnace and it was shut off. I called Chris and he came right away and found the leak and ordered the part I needed for it. It was repaired in no time. Thanks for the friendly, reliable service. My kids loved him too! It means a lot to me when people giving me customer service are friendly with my children. Would definitely recommend durhams finest appliance. Thanks Chris!

Since late July I have left more than 6 messages to obtain an update on my service call for my dryer.....I have yet to receive a reply from them. My machine is under 2 yr warranty and DFA is now the only authorized service provider, unfortunately for me.
If my machine was not under warranty I would find another company to deal with that valued customers and actually provided service. Based on this terrible experience I will never purchase another Fisher and Paykel product and certainly never use DFA for any appliance repair.

Probably one of the worst service providers I have ever hired. Not punctual, not accessible, and never returns calls or follows up.

I would not recommend this service provider for anything.

Diagnosed problem of broken pump quickly.
Had to order the pump, and due to circumstances beyond his control it was a few days before it was replaced and seems to be working OK now.

Price paid was over-the-phone quote only as owner failed to show up as promised. I chose the firm based on a second entry for Durham's Finest that had a single 10/10.

I contacted half a dozen firms on a Tuesday to install a microwave on a Friday. Because the microwave was an online order, Home Depot only offers refunds on defective units for 48 hours, so I made it clear that it needed to be Friday.

When I reconfirmed with Chris on Thursday that the microwave was delivered and ready for his 9:30am confirmed time he said he'd be "a little later". By mid-morning this become "this afternoon" which then devolved into a series of "sorry, stuck on this other job" until 9:30pm on a Friday night.

Absolute garbage service.

I think the people of Durham County might have something to say about Chris and his Durham's Finest.

To make matters worse, there appears to be two entries for Durham's Finest (one, not surprisingly, had only one 10/10 review). I think this tricked worked on me and made me realize I need to be a lot more cautious using HomeStars.

They came to fix our dishwasher, which was leaving grime and gunk on our dishes, and the top drawer kept getting stuck. In addition, our washing machine stopped working. They ordered a new part and came back within a week to replace and repair the washing machine. They even texted to let me know that they would be late. Thanks very much! Everything is working perfectly!

I wish I had read the negative reviews before the frustration began. Unfortunately this company was under contract with Frigidaire, which has now been terminated, (what took them so long). Waited 2 months. for a new microwave door only for it to arrive dented (this happened twice) Why wasn't the door checked at their location before they wasted every ones time? Phone calls, and e-mails go unanswered. Appointments are made and the owner, Chris, doesn't show up - if you are lucky to get a response, there is always an excuse. (seems to the norm as per every ones negative reviews. Worse Service company I have ever dealt with in 44 years!!!

My wall mounted Kitchen Aid Oven was smoking. I got received a quick reply from Chris. Chris ordered the part immediately. Within a few days the oven was fixed. Great price and great service. Couldn't be more satisfied.
