Dishwasher was leaking water continuously. Looked for a local repair company with good ratings. Unfortunately, didn't realize that sites can pay for good reviews. For half hour work, tech shut off leaky valve and said he would have to order a new water inlet valve and come back. Labour $142.50, water inlet valve $69.07, tax $27.50 for a total of $239.07
Came back 2 days later to install valve, half hour work, Labour $142.50, water inlet valve $69.07, tax $27.50 for another $239.07. Total payment $478.14
The cost of the job seemed overly inflated and I called 4 other repair centres who said that I was severely overcharged. A good company would have had the valve to replace the broken one and not have to
charge for a return visit. They would have only charged about $200 on average. One company said if they had to come back to finish a repair they wouldn't have charged for the second visit. The cost of the valve on Amazon was roughly $30 and I was charged $138.14 for the part.
The name of the company was Appliance Repair Oakville yet the receipt said GNA Appliances Ltd
i WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY
