dishwasher repair

2 men showed up for an 80. service call.
they said it would be 280 to fix my dishwasher. The machine new is 400. They worked on the machine for 25 min. said needed a new main board and they didn't have the price. They said I still had to pay the 280.+tax for their labour. The machine was still broken. They refused to leave my home until I paid them. Tghey called the next day and said they could install the new main board for 400. (in addition to the 280 I already paid for them to basically fix nothing. I ended up calling someone else and them problem turned out to be a burned fuse. A cheap and simple fix. Yet I wasted 280. for these guys to take my machine apart and tell me the wrong info at the highest price.

Washing Machine Repair

Don't waste your time and money on such a bush league operation. Had them in to repair a washer. The repair cost me over $300 and the washer was functional for less than 2 weeks. When the same issue resurfaced, I called them back and asked them to fix what they should have fixed to begin with. Their response was offering to send a technician back out at my expense to reassess the issue with any further parts and labor also at my expense. They further said that they do not warranty the work of their technicians. When you pay over $300 to get something fixed, you expect the job to be done right and the repair to last more than a few days. This is completely unacceptable, what a terrible customer experience. What kind of operation doesn't stand behind the work that they do? There are plenty of quality repair services out there...this one just isn't one of them. What a joke.

Dishwasher Repair

Please, do not use this company. I wish I would have checked Home Stars before dealing with this company. I am so sorry that I hired them to look at my machine and that they came to my house.
2 Technicians came to look at our dish washer machine, charged me a service call for $80 without diagnosing the problem. They told me that in order to diagnose the problem they had to open up the machine and that I had to pay $189 + taxes in addition to the $80. They diagnosed the problem and told me that it needs a part that will cost $429. I called Kitchen Aid the manufacturer of our dishwasher and they informed me that the cost of this part is $ 156. I knew at that time that they ripped me off.
They charged me a total of $300 without fixing the problem.
Further more, after they left, I noticed a screw missing from the machine's door.
Their customer service Manager Ilona was the most impatient, rude, unhelpful, and unpleasant person ever.
She accused me of being irresponsible as I should have checked that all parts were intact before the technicians' departure from my home.
I asked her to help me out, and call her technicians about the missing screw.
Upon her call, she informed me that the technicians took it as they realized it was unnecessary.
I consider this to be a " THEFT" as they took something that belongs to me without me knowing, as they have decided that it was not needed in my machine.
Later, Ilona the customer service Manager twisted her words and told me that the screw was loose so they removed it away as it would have clogged the machine had it fallen.
The question is if the screw was loose and they charged me a total of $300 to look at the machine and service it why didn't they tighten the screw?
I would not want anyone, to go through the agony that, I have gone through.

Refridgerater repalir

The initial service repair was $280 + tax CASH OR DEBIT ONLY. At first my fridge had no cool air, after the repair guy 'fixed' it, it froze everything! We are talking less than 24 hours from the time he left. When I finally got hold of the Head tech he told me it was a new problem and I'd have to pay again to have someone look at it and pay$320 for the mainframe to be replaced. BE WARNED - DO NOT USE THEM.

washing machine repair

The worst service ever. Do not use this company. I had to take the time to write this because we had such an awful experience. They came in, looked at the machine for 1 minute and said it could be x,y or z and that repair would cost a minimum of 280 plus parts (cost unknown) for a machine worth $400. The thing i am most upset about is that they didn't even take the time to even bother identifying the problem. I should've refused to pay for what didn't even constitute a service call. Basically we threw away $90 and have to buy a new machine anyways.

Repair Refridgerator

Very unhappy with the work done by these "professionals". I asked them to take a look at my fridge because I was getting an error code that indicated that the defrost unit was malfunctioning. They "Serviced" my fridge by using a steam gun to defrost it and then told me that they needed to order a part that was going to cost $185. I later found out that the part they had ordered really costs between $10 and $20. Rather than continue to be overcharged by them I have cancelled the follow up appointment and now I am out $400 and my fridge still does not work. Stay away from them is my only advice.

Washing Machine

Used the Durham office for a repair in Pickering. I've never had a more confused service provider to less for $80 an hour. They started by showing up at my home, asking where my parts were. By my calling and saying "my washer has a broken internal door latch", they thought I had diagnosed the problem and had pre-purchased the replacement parts myself? That idiocy cost $80 plus tax, followed by three days of silence on their part. Even after I called to tell them they were effectively fired for being useless to me, they called back to ask how my repair was going. Useless. No accountability. Wouldn't recommend these guys to anyone.

UPDATE: Another company fixed it from start-to-finish in less than half and hour. It's disgusting when a service provider with such terrible service also charges premium prices. I believe business is entitled to make money and get paid, but this company – or atleast this branch – preys on people. Oh, and less than half the quoted price. I tipped this guy the difference out of principal.

Incomplete work, overpriced

My Maytag dryer suddenly stopped heating up. Prior to this it worked great and we used the 'Sensor Heat' option to dry our clothes without over- or under-drying each load. Called the Maytag people but they had a system glitch and they couldn't get someone in soon, so I tried the Appliance repair guys. They were able to get someone in same day. The guy said it was an electrical problem, but that he had no idea why it suddenly stopped working. It took him 15 minutes to fix and the whole job cost over $300. He also assured us that if there was a problem he could come back to take another look within the next few days.
After trying our dryer a couple times, we noticed that the sensor wasn't working anymore. E.g. Even if the load was completely dry the sensor said the dryer required another 45 minutes of drying time. This had never been an issue. When we asked the Appliance Repair Guys to come back to deal with the problem, they said it wasn't part of the original issue and so we had to pay for another assessment. (Even though it was their repair guy who tinkered with the electrical system, so from what we can tell, he was the one who caused the problem.) They even suggested that we run a diagnostic on our dryer, which they said would cost somewhere around $700!!
Bottom line - this company is overpriced and does not stand by their own guarantee.
Note: they also don't clean out vents, even if that's the problem. Next time I will definitely just go with the Maytag people, or buy a brand new dryer - it's cheaper and more reliable.

Repair fridge

Had a leaky freezer & the repairman could point point the problem as before starting - he even helped clean up some of the dust behind the fridge. The freezer works fine since then! The appointment was made over the phone and the person was courteous and punctual.
