- Company Response
Shannon/Chris,
Let me start by saying the I apologize for the recent lack of communication.
It was unprofessional of me, and uncharacteristic of the services of Citywide.
When you first brought to my attention the tar like substance dripping under the doors, I came to your home to assess.
After looking over and discussing - we came to the following conclusion.
Drips are a common occurrence with a Blueskin membrane that is not specifically rated for high temperatures.
Blueskin is often used as a barrier when replacing doors and you had them replaced prior to our work.
CW did not use any Blueskin during our work.
I also looked over the vinyl and termination points and saw no obvious concerns.
I determined the drips were a result of the door installation.
You have since had the company who installed come to site and look over.
There position is the butyl tape used to seal the termination bar securing the vinyl under the door is the cause.
I can assure you that the butyl tape does not drip and/or leak.
It is a product supplied by Duradek specifically designed to seal between termination bars and vinyl.
Regardless, something is causing the drips, and I should have made myself available to help.
As per our recent discussion, I have arranged to be onsite with one of our crews next week to reassess all.
We will remove the termination bar, inspect the butyl tape, and see if we can determine what is going on.
If work performed by CW is the cause, we will rectify.
I am hopeful we can determine the cause and more importantly – a solution.
Sincerely,
Paul Bulat
