Bathroom

Never showed up on scheduled day and didn't even call me. Over charged for just changing two washers in tub. Tried to sell an expensive part that it didn't need. Tried to fix a drip in the bathroom sink and made it worse.

Hello Angela. I remember taking your call and trying to work out your financial situation with you over the phone. I notified the technician, Paul, to work closely with you to give you a great service. Yes, I did call you the day of your originally scheduled appointment and asked if you would be willing to take another day due to service work back log and we are sorry for having to ask you to do that. We do appreciate you sticking with us and rebooking. We deal with a lot of different service work and emergencies and we appreciated you working with us on that. Paul spent a very good amount of the morning making certain that your vintage shower diverter & faucet wouldn't have any problems with the new seals because I warned him how old you had mentioned the were. I lowered the original dispatch for you that day, you paid NO GST and I allowed you to split the payments by cheque in order to help you out. Paul did leave you a recommendation about replacing the faucet and to install maintenance shut-offs for ease in future service. But we try to look for real solutions to each of our clients particular situations. If you have any further questions about the $190 service for the shower and faucet valves that were repaired we are always available to answer your questions just as we did the first day we spoke and worked hard to help you out. We are sorry for any frustration it has caused. We will always be available to discuss any further needs you may have. Sincerely, Jason, Team ProSolutions.

repaired a leaking dishwasher(Warning)

Nice operator, Nice boss(through phone sounds nice), and poor technician. Very high price. Poor communication, the technician they sent can not speak english well, I can barely understood what he was talking. I don't feel comfortable since beginning and especially when I can't understand what he talked about the repairing details. Asking for 250 +89+99 for changing something on that dishwasher(sorry I really can not understand what he was talking about at all, and I told him just stop the leaking please, and he gave a solution to change a tube underneath the dishwasher of 150....just not very clear about the price of each item and seem like easy to change the solutions, i feel that is not trustable! After the work done he talked about me through the phone with his boss right in front of me to laugh at me for I was negotiating for the price(sorry yes I did negotiate because it is not reasonable at all.But should you talk like that? Your manner??!). Prefer not to see this plumber named Paul again---So one time service. Not going to recommend this company to friends.

Hello Diane. I remember speaking with you for about 30 minutes on the phone with me and another customer service representative before you booked your call. You had a number of questions and we are happy you felt our upfront service was nice. That makes us feel good. I also remember speaking with you at the office for about another 30 minutes after the service call was completed for some of the reasons you listed above, namely that you felt that you couldn't understand Paul or that he couldn't understand you. I am sorry for that. Some of our technicians have accents and they have to slow down in their speaking in order for some clients to understand them more clearly. I saw the notes on the file and see that you were able to negotiate the price clearly with Paul on the site, I am happy that you were able to arrange that part of the service clearly. The GPS saw Paul dispatch for your service address at 1:11 pm and he arrived at 1:42pm to start. He cleared out of the call 2 hours later at 3:36pm. I asked him to be thorough on testing the for leaks as you were very concerned how it was leaking on the floor below and you were very worried if it would happen again. We have not heard back from you about the leak so I am hopeful that is all behind us. Paul is a wonderful technician, soft spoken and mild but very kind and loves to solve his clients problems. He does a very good job at that and has dozens of 100% good reviews on GOOGLE, FACEBOOK & The Better Business Bureau. We are sorry for any frustration that it caused you. You paid the standard dispatch and $150 for full parts and labour in the end. I really hope you see the value in a full service company being able to spend that time with you to fix the leak you had on your undersink plumbing. You can always reach out to us if you have any further questions. Warm regards, Jason, Team ProSolutions.

remove old bathroom tap, installed new one

It was a Sunday. Staff member came. Not friendly at all. Tried to sell me a $300.00 bathroom tap. I ran to Canadian Tire, bought a $35.00 tap. Installation cost $349.00. Also he saw my husband was very frail and I was desperate (stupid of me to try it on a Sunday) but no courtesy and way too expensive for the job.

Hello Mona. As the manager I take your review very seriously. I have looked over the last years worth of Sunday service calls even until November 2015 and I couldn't find a matching service with your name or description of service on it. It doesn't mean to say that our Team at ProSolutions wasn't your service provider BUT I would love an opportunity to help make things right if we could confirm your information. As a service technician we want our Team to always pride themselves on showing up with a smile but I understand that my Team is only human and sometimes we fail at bringing our very best for each client. I'm sorry about the uneasiness that this caused you as you described above. We will use this review to make our team better. But PLEASE, reach out to us if you feel the desire. The Canadian Price Assurance Plumbing guide we use if very comprehensive and we get a lot of happy customers for years as can be seen by our reviews on GOOGLE, the BBB, FACEBOOK, etc...I and my Team want you to be happy also, so I'm reaching out to see how we can help further. I haven't heard since that the new faucet wasn't working so I know the install has held up so far. Hope this message finds you well, sincerely, Rob, ProSolutions.

Full home reno & HVAC

I had a project reno up in Edmonton and I had a lot of quotes for the project. In the end I went with ProSolutions and their install team. I have nothing but PRAISE for this company and how they handled the project. It was not easy, we had our share of problems BUT they communicated with me and my wife effectively to help the project to move forward. I completely disagree with the comments that others have posted on this website about ProSOlutions and I want my neighbours to know that the other side of the story is that this company works hard RIGHT TO THE END. I hope this gets you some extra work Jason. You and all your staff from Jackie to Rob and Prince, Simon and Sandy all performed very well and they deserve this review. THANK-YOU ProSolutions!

Thank-you so much Patrick for you boost of confidence. The whole construction and service Team here at ProSolutions really appreciated your business. It's how we feed our families and we take great pride in trying to make every experience a great one during a stressful time as a large project as your renovation and new build. You are correct that it isn't always easy BUT that is the line of work we have selected to do. Whether it is an easy job OR a hard one, if we make a deal...we are going to see the project through to the end. We always want it to turn out well for everyone and make it a WIN-WIN :)
Thank-you again for your support on the project and we appreciate all your great words on the review. We know our neighbours will feel the same way moving forward also. Until we meet again, Jason, Team ProSolutions.

Heating, Air Conditioning, In Floor Heating, Plumbing

WARNING – PLEASE BEWARE. To detail all of the problems would be a herculean effort, so I’ve noted the significant ones. What I am highlighting is FACT which can NOT be refuted by Pro Solutions (Jason and Company) :

1. Pro Solutions installed a roof drain improperly which resulted in water pooling in our the ceiling. The ceiling (poly, spray foam, and cellulose insulation), needed to be ripped open to identify and fix the problem. They failed to glue a joint at the elbow properly which allowed for water to leak out.

2. Installed in floor heating (PEX) lines improperly which floated to the surface when the concrete was poured. As this did not meet CODE for safety reasons, ALL the concrete on the main and second floors needed to be ripped out and re-poured. The in floor heating lines needed to be re-installed on the two levels.

3. They completely missed installing a gas line on our second level deck.

4. Plumbing rough-ins were not centered properly – as a result I had to re-mount 9 faucet rough ins so the final trim could be installed.

5. Leak in final installation of boiler – which flooded the utility room with glycol.

6. 5 Ton AC unit was improperly installed in Fall 2013 (so utilization of the unit was limited). I had pointed out the air flow on second level seemed inadequate, but Jason assured me this was normal (he often disregards customer concerns by indicating its part of the "fine tuning" process). In July 2014 when we turned on the AC for the first time, the cooling seemed weak for a 5 ton unit. Due to the incorrect installation, an ICE DAM formed, which prevented air flow. The huge mass of ice melted and flooded the basement, causing damage to the walls, baseboard and carpet. Fortunately, I had withheld funds (around $5400), which forced Pro Solutions to follow up. It turns out they "tuned" the furnace to push out air for a 1 ton AC unit, when it should have been for a 5 ton AC unit. Sadly, the fix was simply to set the proper parameters in the "contractor settings" on the thermostat.

7. May 22-26, 2015 – the AC unit was not working in the sweltering heat. Despite providing the symptoms of the problem : (a) No cool air from vents (b) AC unit cycling on/off every 20 seconds (c) Copper pipe not cold (for condenser), Jason was unwilling to provide any insights as to what the problem could be – likely another issue with their installation. As we had squared up our balance last year, Jason was quick to suggest finding another company to service the unit. Pretty, inhumane to leave a pregnant woman to fend for herself in a stifling house registering 28 degrees.

8. In all, the issues stemming from Pro Solutions easily set back our home construction by at least 4 months (1 month for roof leak, 1 month for in floor heating, 1 month air conditioning, 1 month for other issues and revolving door of trades). Time is money. In hindsight, it was a $55,000+ job they were not capable of handling or deserving of.

Before you go forward with Pro Solutions based on Google’s returned results (like I did unfortunately) – please take a moment to consider whether a company with this type of service is deserving of your hard earned AFTER TAX dollars. You earn your money honestly - so the company vying for your business should too. I followed Jason’s most honest recommendation, and went with a different HVAC/plumbing provider to rectify their unprofessional AC installation. The diagnosis, showed leaks throughout the installation which requires a replacement of the coil. Total pain will be upwards of another $1000.

Homestars offers a broader range of experiences than Google reviews - some which echo my sentiment (5.2/10) :

I hope this review serves others well to avoid the angst and anguish my family has had to endure in dealing with Pro Solutions. Please spend your money wisely.
