I was severely disappointed by this plumbing company. We hired a roofer to inspect some water damage at the side of our house. They suspected that there might be leakage in the water drain in that corner from the roof, and advised us to seek a plumber to check the drain with a camera snake. We found DrainGuards in the yellowpages advertising that they do drain and sewer camera inspections. So we contacted them in hopes to find our water damage source. When we called to make the appointment, we were told the camera snake would be a flat cost of $275. When they came, they told us that the pipe made a turn and they could no longer see further down the drain, which was about half way to the visible damage. They also added another $50 to climb a ladder just to look in a vent that might be the cause of the water damage. This vent is about the distance of my whole living room away, and while water can move about behind the walls, I highly doubted that was the cause. After 10 minutes up on the terrace, they came down with nothing to point us towards the cause of our issue and asked us for payment. They told us that if we paid in cash they would not charge HST. Had we been informed of such payment options prior to their arrival, we would have had it ready for them, but since we were not told that before hand, we had to pay $370 for absolutely nothing. I was terribly disappointed at the lack of organization and had the feeling they were only in it for the money. They stayed for no more than 10 minutes, told us nothing we didn't know, and made almost $400. This is not a company I would return to for service or recommend to family or friends.
