Rough in basement washroom

Piper Plumbing provided excellent, rapid, and high quality work when roughing in a basement washroom in a 60 year old home. I called several companies for estimates and Piper Plumbing had the lowest cost and clear quote. They were great at keeping in touch before they arrived and got the job done within the estimated timeline. Piper Plumbing also made sure to clean up when they were done!

I highly recommend David and his team to anyone looking or a knowledgeable, honest, and diligent plumber.

Plumbing stack repair, backflow valve installation

A leak in my ancient stack was repaired by Joe replacing the basement portion of the stack, and he also installed a backflow valve. Joe was knowledgeable, courteous and conscientious. Only one small criticism: he didn't phone ahead to let us know that his prior job was delaying him.

Hot Water Tank Replacement

So happy with the service I received from Piper Plumbing! I called them because we had recently purchased a house and the previous owners left us an invoice from work that Piper had done for them. Our hot water storage tank wasn't working, the same one that Piper installed less than 3.5 years ago. I called and Joseph was sent out the next day to look at the problem. He was so great and explained the problem, he went above and beyond, he found a new tank (under warrantee) and installed it the same day. When we still didn't have hot water, Joseph came back the next day to fix the problem, installing a new pump and valve. It's all fixed now, and I am very happy with my experience.

Ensuite

We have an 80 yr old home. We are not planning to move and decided to put a M/Bedroom on the main level of a 2 Storey. Piper Plumbing came in on time and estimated budget. There were several issues that they overcame without any problem. It was a two day job and I was given updates as it went along. Several discussions were had to meet my needs and confirm what I wanted. This was not an easy reno do to home age and location of our ensuite. Concrete boring and old cast iron drains came into play. This was handled in a very professional manner and the quality was top notch. Don't hesitate to use this company! Will be calling them in the future.

Plugged sink drainpipe

The drainpipe of my basement washroom sink was plugged. I called Piper Plumbing Heating on September 19 during lunch hour from my office. Although I said this is not emergency because no one is using basement washroom at the moment, Joe, the senior technician, still showed up within an hour and half, even before I could drive back home from work. But the problem is more complicated than expected. The blockage came from some inorganic material in the 2” drainpipe which even the professional cleaning tool could get through it.
Basically I gave up because we could not find where is the blockage and don’t know how to unplug it without damaging the pipe.
A week later, I received a phone call from David, the company owner/manager. They would like to come for a second time, trying to diagnose the problem and to find potential solutions. In Friday (Sept 26) afternoon, a team of three, including David and Joe, showed up with inspection cameras and other tools. They spent more than 3 hours in the basement till 7 PM. Finally, they identified the plug is at the bend drainpipe behind the toilet. The blockage appears to be the concreate slab or tile grout falling into the drainpipe during construction phase. Based on this situation, several solutions were proposed by them.
I moved to current address in May 2014 and my realtor recommended this company. Since then, I have asked plumbing service twice for various issues and I am extremely satisfied the service from Piper Plumbing Heating:
• They have a lot of knowledge and experience. The previous owner of this house had hired plumbing company before but could not identify the issue. David and his team are very capable and have a lot of technical skills.
• They don’t give up till they solve the problem or find potential solutions for you. When David called me for a second visit, it is really goodwill from the company. I didn’t ask for the service.
• Highly professional and friendly. I took kids to classes at Friday afternoon and just left them at my home. They stayed till Friday evening.
• Quick response time.
• Reasonable price. For the second visit, they only charged me camera inspection fees and no other costs.

hot water tank repairs

This is the third time that I have used Piper Plumbing for repairs and I have found them to be fair and courteous each time (Kudos this time to Joseph). On this occasion, I was having issues with black specks in our bath water and also had a leaking shut-off tap on the water line. They replaced the shut-off valve and fixed the black speck problem. Unlike some other plumbing companies, they seem to want repeat business and offer fair rates.
Thanks

New Home Plumbing

I build houses and called several plumbers to come out for my first job to give me an estimate. I waited for several people who would either not show up or would quote a really high price. I called Piper Plumbing and spoke to Dave to set up a time for an estimate. Dave came out when he said he would and gave me a more than reasonable estimate. We agreed on a date and time to have the work done. Dave came out when he said he would. The work that I was looking for was pretty extensive. He needed to run new plumbing from the property line to the house and complete all the inside plumbing including the installation of the hot water tanks, sinks, toilets and bathtubs. I have used Piper plumbing in all my other jobs as he is extremely reliable and the cost that he quotes you is the price you pay. There are no hidden costs or surprises. I will continue to use Piper plumbing for all my projects.

Plumbing

I am new in town and wanted to price out the cost for a bathroom rough-in in my basement. I wanted to use a reputable company that I could rely on, and my home inspector had recommended Piper Plumbing. Joseph Broere came to price the job and was very courteous. He followed up a couple weeks later by phone and I informed him that I was unable to get renovation financing, but would he be able to plumb a laundry sink and install a door for me instead. He agreed, but told me he had to run it through a different account. He came when agreed, did the plumbing and had a Tyson do the door. They did not finish the job and asked for payment. I paid 2/3 of the job, with agreement that it would be completed within the week. Upon closer inspection, I discovered Tyson installed the wrong sized door which means I cannot remove my furniture from that room without smashing down the wall. Also, there was flooding in my basement the next day. Joseph came back and identified a potential problem, agreed that the door would need to be corrected, and committed to coming on the following Saturday. The plumbing fix he identified did not take and my basement flooded again. He did not arrive on Saturday and would not return my calls until I threatened to reverse the payment that I made on my credit card. He set a time to come and never showed. I’ve never heard from him since. Now that I have reviewed this site, I realize Joseph is not the owner of Piper Plumber, but he did arrive in a PP vehicle. Is that a reflection of the standards at PP? You tell me.

Company Response

I am writing this response after personally meeting with Barb today (Aug.30 @ 9am) after reading this review I was quite upset not at the customer but at my own employee who I put a lot of effort and money in training them to be the best as they can be in this service. Communication was completely broke down in this situation and I take full responsibility as a owner. Joe my employee also a good plumber and a great plumber in the making referred a friend to install a door without my knowledge. The door guy (Tyson) , who I have never met installed the wrong door after taking a payment and didn't want to come back according to Joe to fix the problem. I called Barb saying we need to meet. We met and I wanted to make sure that she will get her money back from me and that I would refer a professional home builder to come in that I know and trust. I do all of his plumbing work in his home building construction business. I strongly made this very clear to Joe and the others that we do not refer friends especially people I do not know. I believe it was the right thing to do and a good ending. Thanks Barb for the review.
David.

Hot water tank and toilet installation

About 8 months ago my hot water tank just… died! I didn''t know what happened but after 2 weeks of cold showers it was time to fix it! BRRRR. I called up Piper Plumbing and was quite impressed right from the beginning. Dave sounded professional and said he could send someone out right away. I asked him the cost upfront and he said it would be $1185 (no beating around the bush). Now, I also had a basement toilet that didn't work either so I asked him how much to replace that (while he was here) and he said a couple hundred more dollars for a cheap toilet (I was on a budget). I didn't know what to expect but his worker Doug showed up (on time) with his big plumbing van. He showed me the problem with my hot water tank (it was old & rusted right out). Then he got right to work. Within the same day I had a brand new hot water tank and toilet installed! The cost was exactly what I was quoted over the phone by the manager Dave. I got this work done about 8 months ago and the hot water tank and toilet still work perfectly. I never had to call them back once. It was a fast, punctual, professional service. I wouldn't hesitate to call these guys as they know what they're doing. And that's refreshing because I've death with my share of people who call themselves plumbers but don't know a monkey wrench from a crescent wrench. I've learned my lesson and now just call the pros!
