Dell laptop - screen replacement

These guys are really professionals. I brought my Dell laptop with broken screen and they replaced it on the spot. It took them only a few minutes. I was pretty surprised as I did not expect to resolve my problem so efficiently and so quickly.

Lenovo Computer (2011)

The Lenovo Desk Top Computer (2011) had a faulty push button on switch. It would not turn on. Kareem addressed the problem as a defunct power supply and a dusty computer. Fixed, I took the computer home, but it would not work. I changed cords and plugged in various outlets. I was back next day to rectify the problem. Kareem was very good and patient. He brought to the front and plugged in the computer. He reached to the back to turn on the power supply. The light dawned on me, my last power supply had no on/off switch. It was my error for being so assuming. Kareem was very patient and the costs are reasonable when one considers material, time and overhead. I am exceedingly pleased with the expedient service.

My Laptop Repair

My laptop would not turn on.
I did not know any PC repair outlets, let alone a good one. So, I went to speak with someone at a computer store and he suggested PCNIX. I decided to try them.
They took a look at it, told me what needed to be done and fixed it, all in a matter of a few days. They even uploaded MS program back onto my laptop for me without charge. They were very professional and personable (spoke with Kareem and Amir). Their rates were moderate and they did an excellent job. I’m glad I was referred to them. They made the repair go so easy. My laptop works and very well now.

Computer Repair

No customer respect. I've been going there for over 10 years. Talked with owner on the phone twice about my needs. Asked to speak to Amir, the owner. He was on a break. Would not come out to me. As a business owner myself, if someone asks for me in person I am honoured and will greet them, he couldn't be bothered. Had a disagreement my last visit on price but thought to let it go. Not a unique service. Customer service is key and that was certainly missing on my visit. 2 Thumbs down.

Company Response

Hi John, I appreciate your 10 years or service, however you need to understand that respect is a two-way street. Because you have neglected 10 years of good relationship over your last visit and you have not provided any accountability, I'd like to provide that for my beloved clients to read.

10 years of service. I work 10 hours a day. I get only (single) 10 minutes per day to eat my lunch. The rest of the time is dedicated to going above and beyond for my clients such as yourself.

During the only 10 minutes that I can't be glued to the counter to greet great clients such as yourself, I hired staff that greeted you. When you asked to speak to the owner, you were advised that the owner is on break - the only 10 minutes I get in a day to do something that's critical for human survival, eating food.

I always greet my clients as quickly as I can, I would've done that for you as well but your stay in the store was 30 seconds (no exaggeration, I watched the surveillance video). Even if I had chosen to dash to the door, you would've done the same that you did. You rudely stormed out of the door within 30 seconds.

With that said, I wish you were able to have tiny amount of patience and some respect. Your review is uncalled for as it is not for quality of my service, it is for the fact that I was eating food and wasn't able to hail to your presence in under 30 seconds that it took you to storm out while I have staff glued to the counter to assist you.

With respect to our conversation, there was no specific need to see me in person regarding the specific work order because I had all the notes in my system. All that was needed from you was your phone number to check the computer in for custom work that we had discussed about.

It is unfortunate to see you storm out of the store and then lash out like you did.

I wish you best and hopefully you can find a service provider that can be faster than 30 seconds before your storm out.

Replace hard drive

Brought my computer into PCNIx on Dec 03 2016 and was given an estimate of approx. 7 days to repair it. It's now Feb 3 and I am still waiting on a straight answer about when it will be ready 2 months later! When I called over two weeks after bringing it in and paying my deposit, on Dec. 21, I was shocked to learn that they now estimated that it would take until Jan 26 (because of the Christmas season). On Jan 20 when I called to make sure it would be ready as promised, I was told to give them 7 more days and that the part had shipped. On Feb, 03 (11 days after my last call), I am now told the part was ordered late and is on back order. Wait, what? Last time you said it had shipped!!! They have had my computer and $280. deposit since early December. I have had nothing but broken promises. Had I originally known it would take this long, I would never have chosen to repair it. I would have purchased a new computer. But, I never got to make that choice. So, I guess I am at their mercy. Still waiting for Amir to call me back....Amir? Thuis is not acceptable in any way.

Computer repair

August 21, 2016. The hard drive on my Dell XPS laptop running Windows 7 upgraded to Win10 last June, died an untimely death about a week ago. It was out of warranty, of course....just 6 months out....so Dell was going to charge me $269 plus tax to replace the hard drive, and they would only reload the original factory version of Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010, even though I had already moved over to Windows 10. I would then have to sit there for hours to download 4.5 years of updates to Win7 and Office. And because it was now August, I would no longer have been able to get the free upgrade to Windows 10. Dell wouldn't consider even running any diagnostics to see if data recovery was possible, let alone actually doing any data recovery for me. Plus, it would have taken up to 2 weeks to get my computer back.

After reading various reviews on Yelp and HomeStars, and making phone calls to ask about rates, etc. I decided to try PCNix and am very glad I did. Judith and Amir returned my calls very quickly and answered every question I had. I brought my computer into them late on Tuesday afternoon and had it back by the end of the day on Thursday, with a brand spanking new 1 TB hard drive, which is larger than the one I had, Windows 10, and Microsoft Office 2010 loaded. Their rates were very reasonable and the service was top-notch and trustworthy. I opted not to have Amir try to do any data recovery for me, as the damage to my hard drive was significant and recovery would have been potentially very expensive. But he gave me back my old hard drive, and if I can't recover the files I need any other way I may still ask him to do this. I would highly recommend PCNix without hesitation.

Computer Scanl for Viruses

I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but these guys are awesome. Truly professional and do not rip you off. I brought my laptop in thinking it had many viruses (running slow, etc). Fortunately for me, after hours of checking on their end, they do not charge me because they didn't find anything! Amazing. I went to them in the first place due to the great online reviews. Highly recommend these guys. I went to their new Sheppard Ave/Pharmacy location.
