Rickey Rooter, The Affordable Plumber

We needed a number of plumbing jobs including replacing the flow valve & flapper on our upstairs toilet.
The toilet started running after his 'fix' and hasn't stopped since.
The plumber's response was 'get a new toilet', in keeping with his overall snarky attitude He wouldn't even respond to our calls so I fixed it myself.

Buyer beware

Rick came when he said he would. Saw what needed to be done and explained everything including the cost upfront. No surprises. Top notch work, and cleaned cleaned up when finished. Would definitely recommend and use again!.

I've used Rickey three times; first was for frozen pipes. Now obviously, when your pipes freeze, there's likely a lot of other people with the same problem, but he showed up within an hour, and had the job done very quickly. It seemed pricey, but I figure I was paying for his expertise, and if the pipe had of burst, he would have been right there. Also, I doubt he was any more expensive than other plumbers.

Second time, I had a problem with the toilet. He came over, told me all I needed a new flapper (he didn't have the right kind on him) and tightened some bolts. Took him 2 minutes. Cost: $0. A lot of plumbers would have charged for the service call.

Third time was today. Another toilet problem. I called him and described it, he thought it was just a blockage and told me if I had a closet auger to try and clear it. I did, it worked, again, $0.

Definite recommend.

Pin hole leak in vanity sink pipe behind adjoining kitchen fridge. Was flooding and warping hardwood floors. Rickey found and fixed it! He was awesome. And did free follow up!

I found Rickey on a local Facebook page. I had needed some work done in the bathroom and I was looking a plumber. There were 2or3 recommendations for Rickey Rooter in response to my request. I contacted him and he came out the same day! Installed my washing machine and replaced the tub faucet and shower. His price included all the supplies and hardware and he even picked up a couple of really nice drain covers - cheap and a great cosmetic fix for my apartment. Friendly, affordable, efficient and prompt. Highly recommend him.

Rick is a fantastic plumber and if I could give him more than 10 stars I would. I contacted him after we had flooding in our basement as he had been highly recommended. He was easy to communicate with, came on time and found the problem very quickly. Rick gave a quote on the spot and told us exactly what we needed to do (it involved contacting the city, which he took care of for us). He came as arranged, replaced the pipes in front of and inside the house to a very high standard and the price was exactly as quoted. He found some other problems we had (roots in the drains, lead pipes) and suggested fixes without pressuring us to go ahead. We showed him a different plumbing issue another plumber had not been able to fix and he identified the issue within 20 seconds, went to Home Depot and fixed it for us on the spot. I will not call anyone but Rick whenever we need any plumbing work. Superb work and professionalism, and his pricing is very fair.

While away on vacation my tenant called me because they had a sewage back up. I found Rickey Rooter who was able to get there the same day. All of our communication and even payment was done through email and text. I was very pleased with the service and how easy everything was to coordinate with Rick.

Every time we used anything in our house the water would come up through the drain in the basement and then go back down. After doing some research and being an 80 year old house I thought we would have to dig up our sewer pipes. I found Rickey Rooter by doing a local Google search and within 3 hours of my call he was here. He snaked out the pipes which had some tree roots in them. Rickey took the time to explain everything to me and told me I should be fine for a while but should have the drain snaked out every couple of years to prevent this from happening again. So far no further problems. I I'm very pleased with Ricky Rooter and the work he done for me.

UPDATE: Well the smell continued and Rickey went AWOL/MISSING IN ACTION. His phone number is no longer in service. Another plumber came in and showed me that Rickey did NOT fix the original problem. I really think it was inadvertent, but when I talked to him about it, he disappeared. I'm still hoping he'll come back given that I've paid him ... thousands and he should finish the job. Wishful thinking?!?!

I rarely write reviews, but I could not NOT take the time. Rickey is beyond expectations in every way. I got four quotes and his was the lowest BY FAR. So much so, that I insisted on checking references. I called someone who had done a similar job and they were overjoyed. Well, that was my experience as well. He did an extensive job (I had a back-up sewage problem and had to dig up and replace pipes as roots had gotten in the way and a shift had occurred in another spot). They showed up when expected and worked nonstop, taking care to make sure that the rest of my house was protected from dust. He snaked the entire finished product to show me for myself the new pipe. The before and after was shocking!! The next night at 11 pm, I thought I smelled something. He came at MIDNIGHT to check it out ... no questions asked. It was nothing related ... I had inadvertently forgotten to use a basement sink for almost a year and the water in the trap had dissipated. I would so highly recommend Rickey. He is beyond knowledgeable, competent, kind, and has a devotion that you rarely find in a professional.

Due to a moment of absentmindedness, not only did one of my toilets get clogged, but it did not remain local and blocked most other pipes in the house. After I called Rickey Rooter, he came over within an hour and was finished the job within another hour. He's honest, reliable, efficient, and genuinely cares about his customers!
