Bathroom renovations

Needed to replace caulking for the shower and fix some water damage in the bathroom. Cain did a terrific job; am very pleased with his work. He was also able to accommodate the project on short notice. I would not hesitate to recommend Cain to anyone else.

Home studio/workshop in back yard

I plan to actively recommend OECS Quality Home Renovations to friends and acquaintances, as I could not be happier with the quality and professionalism of the service I received through all stages of this project. Beyond that, I received serious value in terms of pricing — a custom-designed combined cedar and Hardie-plank 9x12-foot structure on concrete pad that came in well under the price for pre-fab options after labour and pad are added into those options. Cain was truly a pleasure to work with. He was infinitely patient in the design stages with my evolving specifications and tweaks. He made suggestions on both aesthetics and function that were sensible, and cost the same or even less. Everything was done on time, precisely to the day for each stage. And high craftsmanship was the order of the day throughout; Cain, and his assistants, know what they are doing and take pride in careful execution of their work. Also, problem-solving is no problem for Cain, a quality that is a real asset in downtown building projects where access (e g of concrete truck) and tight backyard quarters can present challenges. Finally, Cain is a genial and thoughtful person, who it was always enjoyable to chat with during breaks as the project took shape. Again, in an industry where one is never sure about finding quality, fair pricing and trustworthiness all in one package, I have no hesitation in recommending Cain and OECS for any work. (P.S. I also retained Cain for side projects like a new side fence and a storm door installation, and each project was carried out to perfection.)

Wall removal

Cain's team were extremely professional. Within 2 weeks of first contact, the 4 day project is complete. These guys were hard working, on time every day, clean, polite, and honest. The job was done to perfection. We couldn't find one error. These guys come in, do the job (above and beyond) , and leave you feeling really happy about the results. After having used other Toronto contractors in the past i am of the belief these guys are by far the best and am happy to recommend to anyone.

Garage Re-build

Cain Positano and his crew were awesome....the best experience we have ever had with a contractor. From the first meeting to the last clean up and contract finish, Cain was professional and communicated with us at every milestone and even in between. I understand that Cain hasw a background in project management and it was very evident in the execution of our garage re-build project. There were very few surprises and all issues that came up were quickly solved to our satisfaction.

We particularly appreciated Cain's communication style - direct, honest, and transparent. His skills in solving problems were excellent and we were also impressed that he participated every day in the work and was on the job site consistently. He was very particular about quality and he insisted on doing a few things over to meet his own high standards evern shen we suggested not bothering with a few of them.

In addition, we had other repairs/maintenance that he was willing to assist with; but obviously outside of the scope of the project. We highly recommend OESC Home Renovations.

Main floor renovation, entire kitchen, hardwood, moulding and pot lights

This was a big job with multiple components. Cain's budget was very reasonable and he worked with me to find economic solutions that kept me on budget. He was very efficient, skilled and honest with his advice and helped us work through a number of challenges that came up without adding to our bottom line even though the solutions meant more of his time. He is direct and honest which is very rare - I have already recommended him for several other jobs.

Doors, carpentry, shower, lighting, fencing, vanity

I have used Cain for 3 major projects on our 'renovated' home. I was impressed by the work he did for a neighbour and we were needing to do some lighting updates, crown moulding, new front door, closet doors, change a vanity, rebuild a 2 person shower stall, a built-in cabinet and fence repair/build. I have found Cain to be thorough in his work, explaining why/why not we should do something and being respectful of our home by cleaning up at the end of the day. He was extremely patient with surprises in the old shower and very reasonable in rectifying the additional labour requirement. I also found him to be very ethical in his recommendations. Cain agreed to install a vanity we purchased at a national retailer at a great price. At the point of install he told us that while he had installed it for a previous client, after only 6 months of limited use the veneer was peeling. He referred me to a local supplier and I found exactly what we were looking for. I could trust him with the keys to our home without concern and he consistently followed up to ensure everything was working as planned. I highly recommend Cain and will use him again for any future work.

3 piece bathroom and flooring

Cain carried out two renovation projects in our basement, very successfully, efficiently, on budget and on time . The first project was the bathroom. This involved removing the old shower stall, toilet and sink, as well as relocating the heating duct, rewiring, and replacing one of the bathroom walls due to wood rot. The drain pipes in the concrete bathroom floor also had to be replaced due to serious deterioration of the pipes and the concrete around them. The completed bathroom consists of an entirely tiled shower stall and floor, partially tiled walls, new toilet and sink with vanity, modern plumbing throughout, and new lighting. The second renovation project took place in the utility room. This included a new floor constructed with interlocking vinyl panels, new wall panelling over a new laundry sink and vanity, with an adjacent counter top.
We had a very good working relationship with Cain throughout both of these projects, in spite of discovering some unforeseen additional problems such as deteriorated pipes under the concrete floor and wood rot in the walls. We were always able to discuss these surprises with Cain in a friendly and calm manner and determine with him the best solutions.

Cain and crew transformed a tired, dreary 2 piece bathroom into something warm and inviting. There was no wasted time or effort in the job. His attention to detail was outstanding. I would hire them again in a second.
