Kitchen Renovation

kitchen renovation - homemax was recommended to us. the quality of the cabinets are good and the price reasonable. poor customer service and workmanship. there were many mistakes (brought to their attention) and they did nothing to rectify. They did not clean up after their work and also left our bathroom in a mess. we now have to pay someone else to fix both the cabinets and countertop. our mistake was to pay them (as per their contact) before the work was completed. A very expensive mistake!

Kitchen Cabinets

I love my kitchen!! I ran the full gambit starting with Ikea kitchen cabinets (no service, particle board, lack of choice) to kitchen designers (lots of help making choices for you but expensive). I found the perfect combination of helpful, patient service with Elizabeth at Homemax and high quality WOOD cabinets. The process of doing a kitchen has its ups and downs and Elizabeth stuck with us all the way. We now have a custom kitchen including very specific personal ideas like hiding the ugly microwave, pull outs for spices, storage and under the sink and an upper corner cabinet that fits in seamlessly. Each cabinet is sized exactly and with our crooked walls and floors that was not easy. There are absolutely no fillers here! Every inch is maximized. They also scribed the top molding to hide the uneven ceiling in our old condo. Our installers, Justin and Jenny, were magicians.
The company has far more cabinet styles than is first apparent. We had a shade of blue-grey custom color copied from a wood sample and then added a red stained tall pantry. The interiors are natural maple. We have a beautiful, functional kitchen without particleboard or plastics for a very reasonable price. Thank you Homemax!

Kitchen Renovation

We recently renovated our kitchen with bamboo cabinets and quartz countertops. I was looking for a low VOC / formadehyde eco-friendly product and was willing to pay a little more money. To my surprised Homemax came in with a quote that was only slightly more than the cost of ikea. Elizabeth even had the paperwork for the product processing readily available, which I really appreciated. We ran into a tiny measurement discrepancy before install but Elizabeth also very patiently sat down with me & worked through it. She was quick & receptive to my many, many emails. We paid a little extra and got the full extension hardware, thicker quartz and local maple boxes. The end product is lovely. The installers were great. Very friendly considering that they had to carry massive slabs of quartz up the numerous steps to my home. Overall, I was very happy with the product and service at Homemax and would recommend it to anyone.

Countertops

I sourced out Homemax while in the market for quartz countertops after we hadn't been really happy with our regular supplier. I was pleased with the service I received when I walked in the door and learned that the quartz I wanted was available, and at 25% less than what my previous reasonably-priced supplier had been. I found the entire sales team very professional, the contract was clear, and delivery was as stated. The only downfall of the experience was that the installers had mismeasured one piece and we had to place a baseboard at the bottom of our waterfall-style countertop, and they didn't mitre the 90 degree edge as had been requested. So overall. Homemax is quite good, but make sure you request a good installer. I have recommended them to clients and they produced some lovely high-end cabinets including walnut veneer etc.

Bathroom Vanity

We required a very simple vanity replacement. We looked at lots of different places from other similar places shipping from China to Big Box. For the price we feel we got the best bag for our buck, the cabinet is made from plywood and not particle board, the granite counter and sink all fit great. We were able to complete the install ourselves so did not have to deal with any of their contractors. All in all happy with our simple product that meets our needs for our budget and feel it looks great!

Bathroom Counters & Cabinets

I thought this company did a very good job building my bathroom cabinets and granite counters. They could have done a better job in the clean up and and there were a few marks on the cabinet that I had to touch up myself.

Cabinets and countertops

Very unprofessional. They had to transport the cabinets in and out of our place 3 times before getting it right. They measured for countertops incorrectly and installed it before realizing our stove would not fit in its place anymore. They had to bring in a saw to recut it right in our kitchen!

They outsourced the installation to shoddy contractors and then had to send their own a second time to fix it. Their incompetency slowed down our renos by two additional weeks. The product was poor and they later had to come in three times to re-spray paint surfaces they damaged and fix hinges falling out of poorly drilled holes in the cabinets. WIthin the first half year, we continued to experience problems - by then, they would not even respond to our phone calls when things needed repair. So much for the guarantee they spoke of.
