I needed to have a whole home surge protector installed to protect some sensitive electronic equipment, and Direct Electric was the right choice. Ali called me the same day I submitted the quote request (everyone else ignored me) and was here right on time on the day we agreed on. It turned out to be a trickier job than originally anticipated: we have two breaker boxes so he first had to identify which was the primary, and it's a very old (40 years+) box, with little space to insall it. After moving some breakers around and cutting a space in the wall, he experly installed it in about 90 minutes, and it's working just fine. He obviously knows what he's doing and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. The final cost was a bit more than I expected but that was largely the result of increased materials prices.

From the first communication until completion of the project I could not be more pleased. Ali was polite, on time, efficient and knowledgeable in his field.

I called Ali with a bit of a difficult problem - my dishwasher had kept flipping the breaker for months and no one was able to figure out why. We had called 3 different technicians and electricians in - each of them with no clue how to fix it. Ali came in and within 5 minutes diagnosed the problem, talked me through how he was going to fix it, and was in/out the door an hour later. He was professional, thorough, and very fast. Ali turned up at agreed time and once shown where everything was , he got on with it... quietly and professionally.... took about 6 hours and he kept me updated as necessary.

I found Direct Electric on Homestars and Im so glad I did. Ali is easily the best electrician Ive ever used. Hes honest, professional, reasonable and very knowledgeable.

Ali changed over my fuse box to a breaker box, removed an existing outlet and wire we didnt want anymore and also changed a dimmer switch out for us. While he was changing the dimmer switch he noticed the previous electrician put the wrong box in our wall and changed that out for us as well cause it wasnt done right the first time.

I called Ali out of the blue for a small job and he was super responsive. He made time for us the very next morning (showed up 30 minutes early in fact) and resolved one faulty puck light installation that had been plaguing us for years. Now we can finally use it. He also installed another similar light in a wall niche. He is professional, courteous, responsive and 'gets the job done' and done right. So pleased we found him and will definitely hire him again for future work.

Ali from Direct Electric did an amazing job changing my broken dining room chandelier, my main kitchen light, my deck light, and fixing multiple plugs that stopped working in my old East York home. He came the next day after I called him and arrived early and on time. Ali was extremely helpful and patient as a picked my light fixtures from the store. He even made a second trip to the store to return/replace a fixture that was faulty. He completed the whole job in one day even though it took much longer than was expected. I was very impressed with his workmanship and his professionalism and will call him again without hesitation when I need an electrician.
