Dermack

Derek, of Dermack, completely demo'ed and reno'ed our master bathroom. The bathroom included a custom tile, multi-head shower with bench seat and barn door. While Derel is not a designer, he has contracted enough renovations that he was able to make suggestions to our design that were significant improvements. His tile work is impeccable.

Dermack allowed us to purchase a number of bigger items ourselves, not insisting we use his vendors.

With Dermack our project was on time, on schedule and on budget. Working with Derek was a great experience for us. We couldn't possibly have been happier with the work done and with Derek.

I had Derek renovate my condo last year. His quote was the most competitive of the three that I received and he managed to complete the project at a final price that was extremely close to his original quote. He was very hard working and true to his word. The quality of the work was always top shelf. I live in a building where all contractors and trades have to abide by a strict set of rules and rule of law is enforced! Derek was always very respectful of these rules for which I was very appreciative.

Derek did a terriffic job building a Roman style bathroom, complete with steam unit. Fine workmanship, professional and reliable. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a quality renovation.

We hired Derek to tile our new bathroom in our basement reno. Derek procured and installed our new ditra heat system that we asked for and did an incredible job laying down the marble hex floors and an even more impressive job installing a herringbone pattern in the shower. The herringbone is perfect, which given our walls and tub were very uneven, is the mark of a true master tiler. Although I think it ended up being a lot more work then he originally anticipated, he never complained or asked for additional money.

He was very knowledgable and had suggestions to make sure everything was waterproofed before he started the job that none of the other tilers I had asked for quotes suggested. He was very prompt in responding to emails, arrived when he said he would, was flexible and worked on weekends to accommodate our schedule, even working while other tradesmen were in the basement, which I’m sure was a pain. We always felt we were in good hands and that he was trustworthy. After being very satisfied with the first job, we knew exactly who to ask to finish the rest of our tiling. Derek did an amazing job installing a ledge stone accent wall in the basement and tiling and grouting the wall for our laundry room. Thanks for all the hard and meticulous work!

Repair an existing shower. Plumbing and shower pan issues. Had Derek come by to give us a quote. He recommended to remove and replace the floor pan and first row of tiles (large Travertine tiles). He (and his assistant Dan) was available when he said they would be, the job was done very well and was on target for both cost and timing. Finished product looked better and was much better quality than new. A job well done, thanks Derek and Dan!!

This is the second time we have hired Dermack Renovations for a bathroom renovation. We like that he is a one-man show, and you only ever deal with him directly. You don't have random crew members in your home, which is really important to us.

We needed this renovation to be cost-effective, because it was unexpected. Derek was flexible with us doing the demolition, materials removal and purchasing of new toilet, vanity and fixtures. He did the sub-floor repair, tile work and installation of fixtures. His work is beautiful and we were happy that the final invoice was on par with the estimate, despite a rotten floor surprise.
We look forward to having Dermack back for our next renovation.

We’ve just finished developing our basement and used Dermack Renovations for the tile and finishing work. Working with Derek was a real pleasure. We had some serious problems with the work done by other tradespeople and Derek was able to correct their mistakes for us at a reasonable cost, as well as do his own work.

Had I known that Derek was a general contractor I would have been wise to hire him to do the whole job and saved myself a myriad of headaches and problems. But the work he did do for us was very good and we had no problems at all.

Derek made some suggestions for the tiling and I’m so glad we followed through on them. It looks so much better than if it was done the way we thought best.

Derek is honest, trustworthy, and polite. He always responded to phone calls promptly and started and finished the job on schedule. He went over and above what his job called for and I am very grateful.

We recently had Derek renovate an old tired kitchen. He created an opening In a wall which opened up the kitchen. He handled all the electrical, plumbing, tile work and appliance installation.
