Full Two-piece Bathroom Renovation
This is the second time we have hired Dermack Renovations for a bathroom renovation. We like that he is a one-man show, and you only ever deal with him directly. You don't have random crew members in your home, which is really important to us. We needed this renovation to be cost-effective, because it was unexpected. Derek was flexible with us doing the demolition, materials removal and purchasing of new toilet, vanity and fixtures. He did the sub-floor repair, tile work and installation of fixtures. His work is beautiful and we were happy that the final invoice was on par with the estimate, despite a rotten floor surprise. We look forward to having Dermack back for our next renovation.
Darcy, the sales rep, was fantastic. Very, friendly, attentive and helpful without being pushy or smarmy. Good communication from Admin staff on project delays (due to weather/crew availability). I love that they only use their own employees - no subcontractors. The roof was completed in timeframe specified and within $100 of quote (we needed a few extra sheets of plywood due to rot they discovered). The only reason I'm not giving them a 10 was that at the end of Day 1, they did not clean up well. There were cigarette butts, material packaging and coffee cups left strewn around my yard. There was also one worker who did a lot of spitting around my property, but I think he was getting over a cold (still, a little gross). They cleaned up very well the following day. The finished product looks beautiful, the warranty certificate came promptly in the mail, and we were very satisfied with the price.

Derek has good energy - friendly and accommodating. He's the kind of person you can trust in your home while you're not there. It was also nice to be dealing with one person, versus a whole company for the job. Derek completed the work on budget, on time, and was very easygoing with all the many questions we asked. Our attic insulation was seriously deficient and old. These guys topped it up to bring it to the eco-energy standard of R50. The crew was on time, friendly and fast. They recommended an extra "whirly bird" to ensure we had sufficient ventilation, and we were happy to receive that recommendation. I 100% recommend their crew and quality of work.
