Finished Basements was recommended to me by a friend. And from the first time we met with Vitaliy, we were not disappointed.
Although we were interrupted by COVID, the crews from start to finish were professional and worked to understand our needs. Natalie helped us to choose our finishes and her advice was spot on and on budget. Communication throughout the entire process was great.
The timelines were adhered to, the final product was stunning - couldn’t be happier!

The crew delivered on the promised timeline. Mr Igor and Natalie both had great ideas for layout and finishings that we wouldn't have thought of. They maximized a small dungeon like space into an inviting and usable space. Andrew the project lead was very responsive.

We researched a lot of companies before deciding to go with finished basements. We chose them due to reviews on here, comparison to other quotes and the length of time it would take to get the project completed. Overall, we are very happy with the work that was done. However, there were some issues that came up during and after the project.

Pros:
- project was completed within the agreed upon timeline
- showroom offered a good opportunity to see materials
- workers were courteous with coming in and out of the house esp with an infant at home

Cons:
- Communication:

We wish that communication was clearer. We had some misunderstandings with the contract ( which Andre explained). We also had an issue with the flooring shifting shortly after project completion (contract states you need a dehumidifier, we did not have one at the time). Finished basements agreed to help us but did not communicate what they were going to do (this is the major problem). They ended up cutting the flooring and installing a transition piece which we feel ruined the professional look of the basement. We were NOT consulted about that until they completed it. We would've liked to be informed before they altered the flooring in this manner. We would've declined the service and figured it out ourselves in order to keep the cleaner look. Understandably, Co-vid 19 happened and we are still waiting on a remedy to this situation. We enjoyed our basement and regret that this is the outcome. We will update this once we hear back from Vitali after Co Vid 19 restrictions are lifted.

It's been about a year since we had our basement done and the quality and finish has remained impeccable. From the start, dealing with Andrij was an absolute pleasure and at no point did we feel like we were being pressured into anything.

Their showroom is great to get a first hand look at how different decor options look since pictures can only go so far.

Natalie was extremely helpful in guiding us with the decor selections and were very pleased with the main and feature wall colours she recommended.

The construction itself went by incredibly quick (less than 2 weeks). The workers were very neat and tidy. They were extremely helpful in pointing out little details we had not thought of earlier which ended up improving the look of the basement 10 fold. For example, rotating and tucking in a drainage pipe ever so slightly by a few inches so that the entryway from the stairs opened up considerably. Small things, but huge overall impact.

Have already recommended this company to others and will continue to do so.

We are extremely happy with our new basement! Finished basements completed our project within 2 weeks and there isn’t a single deficiency in sight! The contractors were extremely punctual, professional and courteous, especially given we have a one year old toddler running around the house. I was really thrilled with how clean the basement was left every night, I never expected it to remain clean through the whole process but was pleasantly surprised. The entire team from sales to design to contractors made it a very stress free seamless process. We will be recommending finished basements to anyone looking to have their project done.

Words cannot describe how professional this company is. I first used finished basement 4 years ago to refinish my basement in which they did a phenomenal job. I get Soo many compliments on how well my basement was done. My daughter and son-in-law moved into their first home and wanted a stone fireplace wall, I contacted finished basement and asked if they would do their wall, they graciously agreed. I need to mention that I dealt with Nathalie that just had a baby that was one week old, she found time to help us design, help us find the stone and schedule for the workers to come to the home. I’ve never seen such exceptional service from any other company. It took two days to complete the wall and it’s stunning. I highly recommend this company.

We reached out Vitaliy and team in November of 2018 to discuss the opportunity and by Christmas time (1 month later), we had a fully completed, luxury basement to celebrate in with our kids. It still amazes us how smooth and professional the entire process was.

We were intrigued by the idea of completing such a project in 2-3 weeks and had high confidence in the team after the initial couple of meetings.

The entire process, the structure, the options presented, the customization, and quality of workmanship was top notch.

Stone walls, custom shower, high quality flooring with sub-floor options, excellent attention to detail on the framing design and drywall.

These guys are good. I threw many curveballs their way and asked them to do specific soundproofing construction things they'd never done before. As annoying as I must've been, Andrew was incredibly accommodating with my numerous changes and requests. He knew I wanted a soundproofed home theater/entertainment area in my basement and that's what he helped deliver. I couldn't be happier with the end result. I love it. The construction team is thorough and they do excellent work. I spent a ton of money going overboard with my soundproofing requests but at the end of the day, it was worth it. I can blast movies/games/music and you can't hear anything (minus a little rumble from the sub bass) on the two floors above. Even though it was their first time with a build like this, they knocked it out of the park… now they can add an expert soundproofing notch on their belt. Whatever your plans are, I would highly recommend this company if you want to finish your basement. My neighbour already contracted them for his basement after seeing mine. Thanks again Andrew & crew! (No vent covers in my pictures because I recently took them off to paint so they’d match the ceiling)
