I met with a few other contractors that were rated generously on Homestars who gave us an average timeline of 6-8 weeks, a ballpark cost, and the obligation to organize and arrange for a plumber, electrician, and the selection and delivery of all materials ourselves. Sounded like a big long headache!

Meeting with Kyle from Finshedbasement.ca for a quote was refreshing. He provided me with a detailed list of options for the basement, including the cost of each option down to the dollar. The total quote provided included the cost of materials and was still much more reasonable than other companies that required us to select our own materials at an additional cost to us. The timeline Kyle gave for the job was 2-3 weeks. There was no question in my mind of which company to choose!

Selecting materials at the Showroom with Natalie was a wonderful experience. She walked us through each step of the way and helped us to make design decisions that coordinated well together. The selection of materials offered was extensive and elegant, and we were pleased with the clear sense we developed of what our basement was going to look like. The whole process took no more than an hour or so and saved us days of shopping at local hardware stores for materials and finishes ourselves!

The crew was very polite, friendly, and hardworking. With two young children in the house we were pleased to have such a pleasant group of people working on our home. They were always accommodating of any special requests, and went out of their way to make sure we were well informed. Other than the expected sound of a hammer and drill here and there they were not unnecessarily noisy or disruptive, a huge relief for us! They were very well organized. Plumbers, electricians, materials, ect. all arrived in a timely manner while my family had the pleasure of continuing with our day-to-day life as usual.

The basement was finished beautifully with attention to structure and detail. They did find some cracks in our foundation, and after showing them to us they made sure that they were filled. The crew was considerate in tidying up the space after they were finished. The bathroom and the whole space is more beautiful than we could have imagined. My husband and I were pleased that they were finished ahead of schedule in less then 2 weeks, though, my preschooler did miss saying, "hello," to, "the workers," in the morning after they left! : )

The crew and the company setup from Finishedbasement.ca is pretty amazing. Let me start with the showroom. I chose this company because it was an easy one stop shop and their contract was very well laid out and transparent. I didn't have to shop at a dozen places to pick out my faucet, toilet, floors etc...Everything was right there in front of me and my wife and I selected our decor in less than 2 hours. The crew was very good as well. They came on time and left on time. I work at home a lot and I can tell by their progress that they're very efficient, flexible to changes, most important of all, very polite. When they left, they cleaned up my basement and all the trash that were part of the reno. In terms of cost, I think it was fair and definitely good value. They are very honest to us regarding what we need and don't need. The overall quality of work was very good and I would definitely recommend them to friends.

Would do it again!! We hired FB in May 2015 for a complete basement renovation with a Bar, Laundry Room, Home Office and Home Theatre. The whole process was very efficient and timely. We have a beautiful basement for years to come. We still have some minor work to do but we need to contact Finished Basements to schedule the work to be completed. I had found this company on Facebook after researching and having two other contractors give me an estimate, finishedbasement.ca came in with a competitive quote, however I had chosen them because they had the best presentation, which included a full contract showing a simple break down of pricing. Upon my first experience talking with Natalie on the phone, to Joe working within my budget, I can't say how professional they are! I was amazed with their crew and how efficient they worked together to complete my 1100sq ft basement in only 2weeks! My wife was a skeptic , and was not fully on board to even doing the basement, however now she is grateful! Other contractors wanted a window of 6-8 weeks, I couldn't imagine having workers in my home for that amount of time, after seeing what FB.ca had done in an amazing 2weeks!!! Class act, professional, and efficient are three words that best describes this company.... Already referred a friend to have them present a solution for him as well!

We completed this project in January of 2014. We originally spoke to Kyle who walked us through the whole process and described what building materials will be used and why on the basement renovation.

They completed the project in 2 weeks and provided tonnes of suggestions and helpful advice. The workers were extremely professional and cleaned up after they completed their work each day. They were alway smiling and provided explanations to any questions we had.

We had to fill the cracks in the basement (photo attached) so most people should budget that into their reno costs as this is a brand new house from the builder that was only 3 years old and still had many cracks by the windows.

The flooring, electrical and tile options were extensive and we couldn't be happier with the end result.

A few months ago we did have a crack in the ceiling after 2 years of service. We called and within one week customer service had gotten in touch with us and send someone out to patch up the crack and finish it as good as new. No Questions, No hassle just great service at no extra cost.

We had many quotes for our 800 sq ft basement and this was not only the most affordable, the quote was broken up and explained in detail. Many contractors some with high ratings on this site would just come and give a quote $8-$10,000 more than finishedbasements.ca without providing a breakdown or any logical explanation as to where they came up with the number.

We chose finishedbasement.ca to finish our 1250 sq ft basement back in 2004, based on a recommendation from friends, on their competitive pricing and on their promise to complete the work in 3 weeks. The work was completed as promised (despite the Easter holidays). Igor's design and the finished results met/exceeded our expectations. Their workmanship, now almost 12 years old, has withstood the test of time. Today, we still wouldn't change a thing.

So when it came time to finish my mom's smaller basement in an older home recently, we had no hesitation in calling them again. They did not disappoint! Interaction with FinishedBasement (ISM Reno Buliders) started with an online request for a free estimate. Vitaliy called us within a couple of hours and scheduled an appointment to visit our home. Kyle came in and explained everything in detail and then provided us with an estimate; he's very knowledgeable and friendly. Igor was fantastic and it was very enjoyable working with him. Igor designed our basement layout and his expertise acquired over the years, was quite evident. Natalie was absolutely amazing and helped us a great deal, with making the right choices with all required finishes, from floors, walls, accent wall, niche, fireplace and washroom.
Igor Master and his electrical crew worked very efficiently to complete their work in a safe and timely manner. They were very professional while being friendly.
The Plumbers did their part in a professional manner and worked very well with the rest of the crew.
